monte379 reacted to Sam in LSPD First Response 0.2a UpdateWe've released a small update to LSPD First Response 0.2, including a number of fixes to reported issues. Ever since the release of LSPDFR 0.2, we've been working to identify the most serious problems and glitches, and hope to have fixed all of these with this new update, LSPDFR 0.2a. Among the fixes and changes included in this update are the debut of non-lethal stun guns, easier arresting and better first person view compatibility.
Also included are a couple of new LSPDFR API functions for developers, including the ability to play audio over the new police radio that we introduced in 0.2, and better access to pedestrian persona data.
You can find LSPDFR 0.2a, along with a full list of changes, on the LSPDFR download page.

monte379 reacted to Sam in LSPD First Response 0.2 BetaWe're proud to present the second major public release of LSPDFR, and by far the most epic version yet, LSPDFR 0.2.
LSPDFR Version 0.2 follows on from the groundbreaking success of our first release for GTA V, implementing a large number of features specifically asked for by our community.
You can find LSPDFR 0.2 on the brand new LSPDFR page, including a whole set of online resources and documentation, at http://www.lspdfr.com

monte379 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 Delay Update - 13 JulyTo follow on from the previous update I posted yesterday, we're still hard at work preparing LSPDFR 0.2 for release. At this time, it would appear that all issues caused by the latest update to GTA V have been resolved. Indeed, I spoke of the problem and its solution in more detail in the previous update regarding 0.2.
Unfortunately we're still experiencing issues with LSPDFR 0.2 which appear to be unrelated to the recent update and more of a problem with the modification itself. These are in the form of script crashes that some, but not all, have encountered during pursuit testing and this is something we've been looking in to. Unfortunately this seems to be quite a tricky problem to find as different users are experiencing different results. Nonetheless, I'm hopeful that we'll find the problem and resolve it relatively soon.
While LMS has been hard at work debugging most of our issues (both the ones caused by Rockstar's protections and ones of our own making), I've taken advantage of the extra time to add more polish to LSPDFR 0.2, and even introduce a new feature which I know will be very popular. To complement the police computer in a vehicle, here's a sneak peek of the equivalent system on foot:
Bear with us as we work this out. I guarantee you that LSPDFR 0.2 won't disappoint.

Great work.

monte379 reacted to LukeD in [WIP/REL] CalloutsV - The Successor to Callouts+They wont be the sort of timers you're thinking of. Cause I can't stand them. "drive your taxi to this place within 2 minutes" Yeah no fuck that right off.
They will be very carefully implemented to make slight alterations to the callout. There will absolutely never in a million years be a timer that says "you have X minutes to go somewhere or you fail".

monte379 reacted to LukeD in [WIP/REL] CalloutsV - The Successor to Callouts+As some of you may recall I made a status update about how I planned to recreate Callouts+ for GTA V. Today I am pleased to inform you all that this is definitely the case and that CalloutsV will be made.
This thread will offer you a rough idea as to the callouts and features I plan to create as of now, and once in development this thread will act as my WIP forum area to give you updates and respond to support requests and suggestions.
I hope to make CalloutsV the biggest and most comprehensive callouts plugin possible.
Planned Callouts
Many of the callouts from Callouts+ will be making there way over to the big city of Los Santos, for you to engage with. In addition to these there will be multiple paths to take with several callouts, including decisions to make and timers to race against. In Los Santos, your police training will be hit hard. Don't expect tutorials and easy callouts. You'll need to think on your feet.
Below is a list of callouts I plan to make:
I have assigned colours for indication of progress, red not done, orange in progress, green done.
• Officer Down / Requesting Assistance
• Illegal Street Races
• Broken Down Vehicles / Highway Obstructions
• Road Traffic Collisions / Motor Vehicle Accidents
• EMS Requesting Escort
• Injured Pedestrians
• Vehicle Fitted With Tracker
• Location based events (at stores etc)
• Many more...
Planned Features
I originally said no features, however due to the way I plan on changing each callout means I will need some default functionality. Don't worry though! If you would rather use another plugins tow truck or paramedic, you can! I will be designing each callout to consider what happens if someone else repairs the car or heals the ped or takes them away from the scene.

Suggestions, Ideas & Feedback
Of course this is a plugin about what you guys want to see as much as what I would like to make. Suggestions will always be accepted, but not always implemented or used. Feel free to post ideas below as always.
Developers, Have your say!
CalloutsV will blatantly not be the only callouts plugin for LSPDFR, with time other developers will want to jump in on the action. If you do plan to release callouts, feel free to drop me a message via the PM system on the forum. With multiple different people working on callouts it's hard to ensure each plugin remains unique and fun, developers will often overlap ideas and that's where problems occur. To work around this, get in touch so we can discuss ideas, I'm already in conversation with FinKone and Straysify to ensure we don't tread on each other's toes. So don't hesitate to contact me.
Warning: If you choose not to contact me, and then get pissy at me for "copying" your idea or you decide to copy mine. I will not take too kindly to this, make the effort to get in touch before trying to slate me for theft etc. I'm not a nasty person, and I will happily discuss things with other developers to peacefully resolve conflicts.

monte379 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 - Stun Guns & MoreThere were some tentative plans to try to release before the update, but it seemed impractical upon reflection, and we didn't want to have a situation where we release one day, and the next day the game is updated and suddenly nobody can play it anymore. I'm certain that this next patch will once again break modding, and it remains to be seen the extent to which it will. I'm hoping that the disappointment of having to wait a few more days will be better than the disappointment of getting it, then having it rudely taken away a a day later! Besides, we get more time to add cool stuff :)

monte379 reacted to Starmix in LSPDFR 0.2 - Stun Guns & MoreThink of it, slower release (After DLC) = More time to play the mod before it breaks + more polish
faster release = Less time to play the mod + less polish on it + less features maybe + bugs!
Lets just be patient and wait for the DLC to pass, it's like a storm, It'll pass.

monte379 reacted to GamingXSportXClub in LSPDFR 0.2 - Stun Guns & MoreYeah you can do that, but personally I believe a police helicopter is a more realistic and 'normal' vehicle to have as an option to spawn in instead of a jet, would be cool if they had the option between land vehicle, sea vehicles and air vehicles ,and each category would take you somewhere else, so for air vehicles, on the downtown PD roof.

monte379 reacted toDeactivated Memberin LSPDFR 0.2 - Stun Guns & MoreUh... I don't think that was ever a feature. You can always equip it whenever you wish.
@Sam Have you thought of a feature of disabling the use of stun guns for nightsticks in favor of some of us who may prefer the traditional ways of police brutality? That's something I'd enjoy having. It'd make very useful for some clips I have in mind. :^)

monte379 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 - Stun Guns & MoreThis is the final part of our LSPDFR 0.2 preview series. For more information about the changes we're making with 0.2, take a look at the previous installments in this series, found here:: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/forum/880-news-updates/
LSPDFR 0.2 not only goes some way in addressing a lot of the feedback we received as far as features were concerned, but it also includes a large number of fixes for issues reported to us. A full list of these fixes will be published with the release, although among the things we sorted out are many of the frustrations people had with arresting, as well as traffic stop suspects reversing into players and the problems with detecting vehicles for traffic stops.
Aside from these fixes and the features we've already covered, there's still more to talk about. One of the big things that we saw people wanted was the return of the stun gun. Thankfully, with the inclusion of a stun gun in the game, this was quite an easy task unlike in LCPDFR. LSPDFR 0.2 introduces support for both the player and all AI officers to use stun guns. The AI support has been somewhat improved since LCPDFR 1.1, with more fluid animations and better mechanics in general thanks to the stun gun already being present in the game. Players are also now given a stun gun when going on duty, and we've been experimenting with AI configuration flags to make suspects tougher, so that they don't die after one hit - currently this works for all callout spawned criminals, and we hope to expand it universally.
Stun guns make their return in LSPDFR 0.2, with player and enhanced AI support. Shown is an AI officer drawing his.
One of the other main things that we've been experimenting with in 0.2 is audio. GTA V comes with a massive amount of police related audio which is fantastic, and we're looking to take advantage of this as much as we can. For 0.2, we've introduced a basic version of the Police Scanner seen in LCPDFR 1.1, with a couple of key differences:
The weird clicking noises between sounds have been drastically reduced. More variations of audio lines are present. You will now hear other officers talk on the radio too. Of course, this is still very much an experimental system and we'll be looking to make extensions and improvements in future versions.
As this is the final installment in this update series, instead of promising another article the next day, we'll promise something else: LSPDFR 0.2 - coming very, very soon.
