The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future?

Would love to be able to interact with the passengers during a pullover also having a chance that they try to flee when you ask them to get out of the car also having some random police officers join pursuits, maybe spawn them during the pursuit as the game has no patrolling officers. And also being part of an escort of multiple cars/bikes for VIP callouts.

My suggestions so far after playing for a while: A marker for your patrol car on the map would be great Maybe add a prompt/option somewhere for clarity on how things work, I was a bit confused when

It's running great so far, though for some reason my game lags a bit whenever I shoot now (may just be the game itself). Most of the improvements are probably already planned by the wonderful dev team

  • Suspects are too fast / too far and I constantly find myself driving cross country in a cruiser. Awesome work by the devs, though.

I did not even get to play 0.1. Lots of good suggestions here. I have never played LCPDFR either so no clue how this compares.

Also note that I have no idea what is possible to mod and what is not. Please forgive my ignorance. But this is a wishlist so...

Someone mentioned "be on the lookout" (BOLO) type of calls. Great suggestion!!!

- Get a briefing the beginning of the shift (like real cops do)

It could have a few things like: look for a red SUV in this area, it is associated with such and such crime. The briefing could be a simple text window as long you can somehow recall it later. Then randomly spawn or not spawn that vehicle and keep it alive for the shift. Same thing could be done for pedestrians.

- After the crime calls resulting in BOLO. Mostly police arrives after the crime, then takes data, then goes on to find suspects. I would be happy with dialogues in the form of text boxes.

- Automatically slow down traffic after a traffic stop. Like the traffic mod does. For now that would save us from the flying in kamikaze police units. In real life a flashing police car will slow down 90% of the drivers because we are all rubbernecks and curious.

- 0.2 has the computer. It is a mini game on its own and adds a very nice layer. Whatever else it could be used for. Real officers could chime in here I am sure.

- Call for backup code 2 while rolling. Right now it seems cops go to the location you are at the moment but if they could continue to get an update about your location they could follow you code 2. Police does this a lot before they pull someone over. Especially felony stops.

- Back up other officers code 2/3 then just stand by for the duration. You could be dismissed too by them.

- Down the road, when call-outs will get tweaked, if there could be a slider or ini setting that players could tweak to adjust code2 vs code3 call ratios. It would feel much more rewarding to answer just a few high priority calls during one shift. It is like fishing on a lake. If you would get a large fish every day every time you go fishing it would not feel as rewarding. If you only get 1 large in a season you will remember it the rest of your life. On the other hand some players want more action. With a slider everyone could be satisfied.

- I know 0.3 is coming and it seems you will tweak a lot. Right now IMHO high priority is AI. Both cops and non cops. Keep them calm mod works. Something along those lines would make for a smoother experience. Reading the updates it seems you are working on this.

- Integrate speed radar, and the policeradio mod. (Unless that is not possible. I realize they are the work of other coders.)

- Have certain suspects give up fleeing. May be you could tie this into the suspect's health or car's health. In real life people seem to give up after they wreck the car. Not always but most the time. Eventually you could tie this into the computer and to the type of warrant or crime committed. If someone is wanted for murder that person will tend to run more than a drunk driver. (Again... this may not be possible to code. I have no clue.)

Overall.. I joined in at 0.2 and it is amazing. It is so stable. It seems I only ever get LCPDFR crash if I use certain mods. If I run it clean it is solid. Wow... just wow!

How do I donate? I would like to donate $59, which is exactly what I (and the rest of us) sometimes end up paying for some real shitty games that are produced by big studios and are buggy as hell and deliver a fraction of what was promised.

Congrats guys for an already great mod!!!

ohhh.. and do you have an e-mail list? Or do you announce new updates via the forum? I would like to keep up. I mean Fallout 4 is around the corner but this mod is soooo cool! I can't believe Rockstar does not do a proper DLC for something exactly like this. It would sell. People watch cops too. Most of it is boring and it is the same yet it is still going strong after how many years?

Thanks guys! Keep it up!

Can't speak of the coding related stuff as I don't know what's possible or what isn't, but I can tell you other mods won't be included into LSPDFR itself as they are indeed from other authors, and not everyone will like having them.

As far as donations go, there is a donations page here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/donate/

In regards to the updates, they are always on the forums and shouldn't be hard to find when one is posted.

I wish there were a lot more people out there like you.  We hope you're going to enjoy everything that's coming in 0.3!

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

For future versions I'd like to see...

1) Implementation of a mod similar to ticket time from LCPDFR because generally police officers don't write your citations beside for safety reasons and why stand outside in the heat when you have a nice comfy air conditioned vehicle..lol

2) I just saw a mounted mod (LUA) script released today, so it is possible to have a mounted unit (it does exist with the LAPD)

3) Get rid of the hydra option, the police don't operate fighter jets...insert the maverick police chopper

4) As open interiors 3 is now an active mod, and now the davis police station will be added into 0.3 then maybe some callouts taking place inside of homes, hotels, restraunts, strip clubs, etc;

5.) Boat callouts

6.) Customizing the police model before going on duty with the player like what Emergency Uniforms 5 allows you to do

Other than that what you guys have done so far, is absolutely awesome and I'm loving LSPDFR with every thing, keep up the good work.

The more I am playing the more I am getting annoyed by the AI, cops and peds. I know this is not your fault, the AI is awfully dumb and it doesn't help that we are dealing with it in a way that was not intended but it is really becoming a test of patience. You sometimes get a good laugh at their stupidity but after some time it gets more frustrating than anything.

I am glad that you are working on the behaviour of other cops and I hope that civs will be on the list at some point

Where we're going, we don't need signatures.

I would like to see in the future more control of the light bars customization for different situations example able to turn on traffic light bar by its self or all lights different light patters theirs a EVL beta but only works in one car i would also like to see more control of sirens and air horn example having two or three choices of sounds by pressing keys.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'd like to bring back the way you can interact with peds in LCPD:FR. Hold e at a ped without aiming your gun at them. Checking their ID from there, frisking, and detaining. Plus, I miss the shiny blue/red type dot thing that appeared when aiming and interacting with peds.

Although there's already a way to do it.. I'd like to see a user friendly way to customize a custom ped model from GTA V Online and get them into Police attire. Same thing with Sheriff and Highway uniforms.. Possibly SWAT as well. I know I'm not the only one who gets tired of using the same cop models over and over.

One important thing, near by Police need to respond to calls. Especially if you're right next to a cop car during a traffic stop and you start getting shot at. The cop will just mind his own business.  Same thing during pursuit call outs as well. The cops will just sit at a light instead of responding to a code 3 call with you.

Back to player model when dead animation/spawns Michael. If I use any other model besides the cop model when I force duty or if I go into the station and manually go on duty to use Sheriff or HW models I notice my model changes to Michael when I die. I don't die often (unless it's an intoxicated civilian with a knife that somehow kills me in two blows with body armor on.) but when I do, my model completely changes and I don't get my other model back. Although this doesn't seem like much of a deal for those using the FBI, SWAT, Sheriff, or HW patrol because you can just simply go into the trainer and editing takes like five seconds. When you're using the Online peds, the customization can be taxing, especially when the save/load ped option doesn't work %100 with Online peds.

So, I already heard in the new update you posted about working on the AI and there are going to be huge changes in the way they function in a pursuit or after a scene. One main idea I have and I would really like to see would be some officers staying on scene to stop and help the flow of traffic. Or make it so we can direct the officers what to do and where to do it. You could have a blue circle around the radius and press a certain button to go into a command menu. And then you can pick where you want them to move and which way to help the flow of traffic. It would be a great realistic implementation because the AI traffic is horrible, as we all know. Making a way for the AI officers to pitch in and stop and direct traffic would be a fantastic idea.

I posted this in a different thread, but I feel this one is more appropriate for the content: I think a good addition to the game (in my opinion of course) would be to add a payment system to the game. Either get paid per call, or maybe get paid when you go off duty for the day and have that money count towards your account in-game so that you can buy a house/cars/etc. I think it would be fun to start from scratch, star a career as an officer, earn money and work my way up to owning a house and some cars. It would give players more of a goal other than just hopping from call to call with no real progress.

Did you guys know there is an "easter egg" in Pull-Overs? I pulled someone over today, she stepped out, and she showed me the badge and told me: "IAA", and she got back in the car and drove off. Cool new addon on the mod.

That's been in the mod for a while, it's not a new addition to 0.3, I remember it happening on like 0.2b or something like that

More Controller Support...

At the moment, there is no designated button for "interaction menu" on gamepad. So I would like to propose that pushing the thumb stick multiple times should flick through all current and future menus while still opening up with the backup menu first.

Remove the backup spamming and reintroduce requests for backup like it is in LCPDFR while having the AI determine the response and how much backup is needed. The longer the duration of a pursuit or severity, then the more intense the backup gets or just make another request for more reinforcements... This is true as an officer doesn't have direct control over these things in real life and is done through dispatch while posting updates and requests. Also it would be good to use a mechanic where officers only get involved if you call the pursuit into dispatch.

We really need a way to call in recent ID's or Plates without the need for keyboard. It's really hard for couch players to use keyboards, even though my mod "The Menu" has just about eliminated the need for keyboard, yet this is something that's not easy to overcome by my mod and is a huge issue. Even with a keyboard around, it sometimes feels like a chore just to enter an ID or Plate, let alone trying to remember a name or position the camera so the computer UI doesn't block the plate. Even driving behind a vehicle and wanting to do a quick check is very complicated or near impossible with or without keyboard.

There is an issue with the controller when requesting for backup on a pulled over vehicle as it will cause the pull over to terminate as they're both allocated to the A button. This is also a problem with my own mod and other mods I have encounter that requires the A button to be pressed. This is very frustrating as backup for a pulled over vehicle never arrives.

Have backup spawn further away. Currently one press of the backup button and they're already at the suspect, I would like to see random times and distances in where they should

be spawned. But again, like above, backup should be executed as if they were locally patrolling that area to begin with and not all come running down at once. I'm also not a fan in believing that there's a patrol car on every corner.

I would love to see police being a bit more involved after the callouts / pursuits have ended. As of now, they holster their guns and you see all of them just walk back to their vehicles and drive off. It would feel a lot more immersive if some would stick around and have others take their time before they just leave. Even better would be backup options for officers to come do some duties in certain areas and have lights continually flashing. Also could have officers come to dead bodies and write on their note pads, talk to nearby peds or just make it look like they're doing something. Maybe have officers take abandoned vehicles away etc. then they can all be dismissed like in LCPDFR where you report to dispatch an update or have left the area which also reminds me that I miss the feature where you can update progress or report when an officer / civilian is down etc.

I would really love to see a road closure feature where police cars with officers are positioned at cut off points to stop traffic from coming into a scene, maybe even have reporters and nosey pedestrians behind the barrier. I was thinking maybe have a wide radius and every road that intersects with the outside of that radius, then spawn police vehicles there.

When a vehicle is pulled over, it would be nice to see them respecting the emergency lights and limit their speed while passing by.

As of 0.3, suspects that I order to the ground will not be attended to by AI. I could aim at them for an eternity but no AI will come in and cuff them, I hope this is fixed in the near future. I have also had suspects run, shoot at me and all sorts yet officers didn't react while still holding their guns aiming at said suspect.

Something that would be cool is if we could mark a Vehicle or Pedestrian as wanted (via computer with either ID or Plate, or we could place a marker), then eventually an AI will randomly pull that vehicle over or apprehend the ped until we arrive and approach them. This makes it possible during pursuits to deal with those inconsiderate drivers or law breaking peds after a chase, Or maybe just want to revisit a previous scenario where the wrong call was made.

It would be good if we could get an option in the INI file to turn off the progress bars / mini game as It's not really for me (I assume others as well) and sometimes I don't even watch the bar while letting go too early and just make the situation look 100x more awkward. Personally I just prefer pressing a button and have it execute instead of making sure I keep a finger down on a button till a bar fills up.

A nice feature to have would be a check box listing all offences (well common ones anyways) for a ticket which automatically totals the charges depending on what they’re being charged for, so Driving Suspended and Talking on mobile would automatically calculate the charges for those offences.

As of now, It’s really hard to detain multiple suspects while waiting for one to hit the floor. While a suspect is complying, the other is running away and there is nothing that can be done until the complying suspect has complied.

Every on foot or vehicle chase should be different, It would be cool to see peds with random attributes as to whether they’re easy to surrender or going to be difficult. Also make a small percentage that would rather die than give themselves up. I also think this should be the same for pursuits in vehicles where if you press pull over then there’s a chance that they will comply. Possibly depending on if they’re overwhelmed and what their surrender attribute is set at, as well as how many tires they have remaining which should all play a considering factor on whether a suspect should give up and surrender or not.

There is still a lot that I miss from LCPDFR like interactions, partner and frisking etc., but i won't discuss that now as it could easily make its way in a future release.

All in all, I wouldn't like this to be regarded as complaints or negativity, It's really just my personal preference and what it would take to be complete for "me". I also understand that the mod is in early stages and that some features might had already been planned or are currently bugs that's going to be dealt with. But for the ones that aren't, I hope it gets considered, even if it doesn’t appeal to the masses, then I will still be hopeful that it could become a setting... The progress that I have seen so far is extraordinary, I look forward to every new release because they keep surprising me each time. Kudos!

and lastly, more controller support please :)

Thank you so much for your efforts so far. I love the police mod.

  1. Check ID & Asking to exit the vehicle for the co-driver
  2. Remember if the siren horn was active or not after traffic stop etc. ends. Each and everytime it starts when entering the police car.

what I think would be pretty cool is two things one is when ur on the beat and you stop someone for say drinking in public or even dropping rubbish on the ground there should be an ticket with say $50 or what ever for dropping rubbish and the other not sure if its in the game but say ur in a high speed chase and crushs his car and cant do anything and the guy makes a break for it and gets say far enough away from u without tripping over and comes across a parked car or even one that's stoped before hitting him the suspect pulls a gun on the guy and makes a break for it with a stolen car or even takes the car with the driver still in there make it a lil more realistic if u see my idea there if I knew what I was doing then I would give it a try but its an idea for someone who mabe able to make something like this one day

ps... I love playing lspdfr im trying to get a couple m8s to give it a try as well who haven't seen it or heard of it.

I haven't gone through all the posts, so sorry if someone already mentioned this, but it would be really great for the next version if you could add the option to make the ped leave on foot in the interaction menu.

In Jeff Favigano's latest video, he pulls over a car occupied times two, no valid liscence, car is not insured and the passenger doesn't have a valid liscence either but when he lets her go after getting her id and what not, she just hops into the driver seat and pulls away... In the menu, you could have "Ask for ID, Give Citation, Give Warning, Ask to step out, Ask to leave on foot"... or something like that.

EDIT: I know a quick fix for this is to simply tow the car before you give them the citation, but sometimes that tow truck has a hard time figuring life out.

Edited by GabLeGamer
meh.

I would like to suggest a few things:

- Please add the ability to call federal backup (especially working as a Federal Agent)

- I have yet to see a Park Ranger/Game Warden respond as backup. They are state law enforcement.

As well as have calls to back up the Wardens.

- The ability to call fire to the scene just like EMS in the LSPDFR menu.

The ability to call all backup should be through the standard LSPDFR menu.
