LSPDFR Announcement + Preview

We won't be adding any military involvement.  At this stage, the most powerful backup option I've thought of so far might look something like the FIB's equivalent of the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team.

Nice idea! Unlike GTA IV, in the V there are actual FIB SWAT peds, so it will look cool.

Also, will backup units be able to drop from a helicopter? Once I had several gangsters in a parking lot, not even a Noose team had made it through to them. I had to use their Stockade to cross that parking lot and stay alive. A helicopter dropping Noose agents would be very helpful.

  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

Yes, seems to happen in V as well.  If I sit at a stop light, the AI does the same thing they did in IV...try to go around instead of wait.

If its red light it doesnt happen to me. But if its green ligjt ofcourse they try to ram you.

What?

I'm thoroughly excited for this mod, just finished downloading GTA V on PC and upgraded my PC to run it! I'm looking forward to seeing what features and details you will add. I can't wait for the first release as I'll be sure to play it!

In terms of small details, is there anything you can tease us with?

I I also remember in the Paleto Score mission where you go and set the alarm on the bank off. When escaping as either Trevor or Michael, you can see that the Sheriff department has set up checkpoints with cones and officers checking cars, will something like this be usable?

Only if the light is green. If it's red, they wait patiently behind you. However if you're in a right turn only lane and are parked, the AI will still go around you at a red because according to the AI, it's considered a green light.

Siren Mute! Like I don't need ELS or anything complicated [yet], but I reaaaally need to be able to turn on the lights and siren seperarely! That might seem stupid to some, but that's probably one of the first things I really want to see happen in LSPDFR if possible!

Other then that, keep up the great work guys!

I know I asked twice already, but will there be a animation to use the flashlight in the car or maybe walk with the flashlight, I think this is the last time am asking so sorry.

We definitely need that. There were a few mods for that in GTA IV but since they were mods they were not that great. This time around there is an actual animation in the game.

If anything makes it into LSPDFR it needs to be the helicopter fast-roping NOoSE. This is why I believe it is better to allow the game's native policing functions to operate as vanilla as possible. There is already great stuff like this, flashlights, and spikestrips in the game. If we could figure out a way to assign a wanted level to an AI, the game would activate all these things naturally, instead of having to push a button for them. The more you try to mod things in the more dysfunctional they will be.

AI wanted levels would be pretty great if you could get it to work, as you could have keys to up/lower the wanted level depending on the severity of the situation.

they can probably do what they did with the non els lights in lcpdfr 1.1 pushing / for different patterns and mute because we don't need an els system for v its good the way it is

if assigning them wanted levels means hundreds of AI cruisers come crushing at my suspect I'd better be a lone ranger. I especially wouldn't like having Noose chasing suspects, because Riots are not suited for it and Grangers with passengers on sides are too vulnerable.

However in LCPDFR Noose also uses police FIB Buffalo, which is a perfect pursuit vehicle. Something like an LSPD Buffalo or FiB Buffalo with armed and dangerous people inside would make a perfect pursuit task force.

Is noose still going to be a thing? Personally I'd rather call in an actual noose truck than the ones hanging onto the car, that's an easy ticket to death for them, along with an aggressive suspect or busy traffic. would FIB be considered stronger than NOOSE?

I agree with this, sorry but it's kind of true, they were pretty bad compared to what can hopefully be worked with now. I know its an early stage of development but I also noticed that you haven't added any types of blips yet, I'm sure you guys have time to figure all that out (which you probably already have, you guys work fast :whistling:)

well i just finished the Paleto Bay Score mission earlier so i thought of that.

the NOOSE operates under the FIB in-game similar to SWAT operate under FBI. normally id say Riots spawn very little unless your in a heli or jet which is dumb since cops think roadblocks are a good defense againsed a fighter jet. i dont consider FIB Vehicles "FIB" vehicles, they're more like unmarked SUV & unmarked Baffalo, since there were only like 2 missions where FIB agents used them & they are equal to Sherriff SUV which is the same vehicle but "marked" FIB Buffalo is like an unmarked Police Buffalo & Unmarked Cruiser is a Police Steiner with FIB Buffalo properties. but we need more backup options & a hotkey for backups would be a load better, i like my idea of backups considering how its the mirrored version of what regular cops do when u get wanted levels.

We want to keep the mod focused on police stuff, so there's no need for the military as yet.  I'm not really sure how the backup options will work, although I think we'll keep it fairly simple initially.

It isn't possible to assign wanted levels to peds.  The system is designed for players only.  Almost everything will need to be modded in this time around, GTA V has very little actual police AI.

This is true.

They have two things they can do, Arrest on 1 start, all above that is shoot to kill. I get shot because I run? Ayy lmao.

In IV you could get arrested on 6 stars if you had a shitton of luck.

Does anyone know a possible release date?

Nope, probably not even the developers.

I understand we're all excited, but can we please stop asking this? It's been answered far too many times in this thread alone. It'll be done once it's done, the development team is working as hard and as fast as they can.

Sam made a post a few pages back where he stated that he hopes to have the mod out in a few weeks, but there's no guarantee of this, so please stop asking. We'll let everybody know once it's done.
