An Epic Script Idea/Finkone

Featured Replies

Ok Since I Cant Scripts I Was Playing LCPDFR OK i Was Playing As NYPD ESU Responding To Shootout And I Was Code 3 And The Light Happend To Turn Green Witch Made Me Think... Hmmm... Wouldnt That Be Cool If The Lights Turn Green When There Someone Within A Radius About The Size Of A Intersection Using Lights Or Siren It Would Turn Green. And The Reason Why I Put Finkone Is Because I Want Finkone To Notice It And See If He Can Do Anything. And Sorry If I Screwed Up On Stuff Im Tired.

Like cheese, I have a ton more fun clearing an intersection and using different tones to get through. I hate going through green lights lol. (Well not hate, but just prefer to clear an intersection like a badass).

Yeah, a traffic signal pre-emptor would be kind of nice, but it's much more fun running the yelp and piercer to clear it.

Neither ScriptHook nor a rich list of native functions does not let you to change traffic lights. That means it's (almost) technically impossible to control what signal is being displayed. The most useful mod I used to use in terms of "traffic management" while responding code 3/2,5 was Mordecki's Siren Tool. I recommend to test it.

Maybe JulioNIB scripted traffic lights to turn green in his watchdog mod could work but why do that when you can make it how they do it nowadays by having peds slow down to a stop at traffic lights when siren is on, would make alot more sense lol...

It's true that there are no natives to do this, but it's still possible and compared to other mem-hacking tasks rather simple. The traffic lights are controlled by only two functions which return the current light state. So all lights in-game depend on one of these two functions and they change the state globally. By hooking them and returning the preferred state green lights for both directions can be achieved. As shown here:

You can also change the colors to whatever you like with some additional effort:

It must be noted that both functions rely on a global variable that has nothing to do with traffic lights but is a timer variable. A modulo operation finally decides on what to do. That should be enough info to get anyone who is interested started.

well if there was a script where you can jsut press a button like when you press 1 - 2 -3 -or -4 within a size of a intersection a scripthook or something will change them like by pressing a primary ELS key such as 1-4
