Sgt.Kanyo's handling mods

Featured Replies

Anyone have better handling lines for the GTAV ported vehicles, specifically the Vapid Interceptor? The damn thing keeps rolling every turn...

Try the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO (BXBugs TPI) line for now. It seems to work fairly well based on my use of it.

Cheers.

Worked like a charm, and got rid of the bouncing bug when ELS is activated.

Only adjustment I made was making the drivetrain "0.5" instead of "0.7", helps with turning at higher speeds.

Ohi Sgt.Kanyo,

could you advice me if your handling line for '88 LTD will be proper for '87 Caprice (Compeast's one)? I compared both cars' weight, power etc. and it seems similar (it works OK in-game too) but I'd like to hear your opinion as you're the unquestionable expert.

Yeah I think they are pretty similar. They came with different engines, so it's all down to that. I've checked the 5.0 V8 in the LTD vs the 5.7 V8 in the Caprice, and it seems they have the same 0-60 time as well (12.9 secs), with the same amount of gears and with only a minor difference in gear ratio. They should be pretty close.

Do you have a firetruck handling line? I've looked over it twice and can't seem to find a good one. I would just need one for the original firetruck. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm just not familiar with all the vehicle names.

Now that there are some new versions of the next-gen vehicles coming out, do you think you could make handling lines for the AWD Dodge charger and the EcoBoost Ford Interceptors?

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Yeah, I've made a few. Here's a few of them:

Could you give me some links which cars do you mean? Also I've already made a handling for the Ford PIs. They use the 3.5 V6 Ecoboost engine. These are the handlings:

Well about the PIU, I've made my handling based on the exact 3.5 V6 AWD. I dunno where policemag got their info, that it's new, because both the Ford PI and Ford PIU came standard with the 3.5 V6 with AWD. You had the option to go FWD, but that's stupid, why would you wanna go FWD. All my handlings are FWD based AWD system, meaning a bit more power goes to the front, but still it's an AWD system just like what Ford had.

About the charger, I guess I can make an AWD version of it. The civvie version had the AWD option, but I guess now even the Charger Pursuit has that option. I'm pretty sure that's a rear biased AWD system, but I'll have to do some research first lol.

Regarding the 2011 Chargers:  your handling lines are a bit too fast, I managed to hit 160 MPH before catching air. I also raised my model a tiny bit which offsets the centre of mass with the handling line.

As far as engines and drive goes, the bigger V8 engine has AWD as an option, the standard V6 engine is RWD only.

Yeah, I've made a few. Here's a few of them:

Bro you are just unbeleiveable. This is amazing. Lol. putting this together looks like real hard/boring work. I salute you. (And give you rep :P lol)

It's totally fine, I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it, but thanks.

Anyway regarding the charger, they have a top speed of 155 mph irl, which I'm pretty sure is because it's limited. Unfortunately I can't add any limits or bypass the 288 Km/h limit (on some supercars it'd be nice to). Those handlings should be just as fast as their real life counterpart, because I based it on both 0-100 kmh/h and 0-200 km/h. From 100 to 200 km/h you get to see the car's real acceleration since after that there's no loss in grip. Also GTA is not very good at representing aerodynamics or I dunno maybe I just haven't figured all that out quite well.

Hey Kanyo, do you happen do have a handling line for EVI's 2012 Tahoe? Here is the >link. The darn thing acts like it wants to tip, but never really does, but it comes up on two wheels quite often though.

Yeah, Yakadafi is EVI, and this is the handling I made for his tahoe:

2505 0.363 85 0.0 0.15 -0.16 0.5 4 0.16 5.0 240 0.45 0.55 0.6 33 1.5 1.2 12 0.12 0.48 3.0 2.5 2.5 0.15 -0.08 -0.03 0.44 2.0 1.0 2.1 2.4 0.0 50000 440010 0 0

optimized for Yakadafi's ATF Tahoe 1.0

The problem with that is, that the model was moved on the Y axis in zmod, so even though I did fix the roll over issue, the car still handles a bit weird. Like there's some problem with the suspension. In Zmod you can only move the car on the Z axis, if you don't wanna mess up the handling.

Sgt.Kanyo, could you do some for these trucks:

#1: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

#2: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

Sure, I can make one for the LAFD ambulance, but it seems I have already made 1 for the firetruck. It's in the file description saying: handling by Sgt.Kanyo ;)

Thanks!, and I didn't realize that lol.

EDIT: And do you have one for a 2010 Dodge Charger?

Sgt.Kanyo, now that there are police vehicles being extracted from GTA V and converted into GTA IV, could you dust off your handling making skills and make proper ones?

Looking forward you hearing from you.

Cheers.

p.s. how do you tell if a vehicle has an incorrectly set up model even though you are using the correct handling line for it?

Well a few examples, if the car is bouncing on it's wheels really fast, then the car wasn't exported the same name as the wft dummy's name in zmod.

If the car has really slow moving suspension, like the car is in slow motion while changing and stuff like that, that's a badly setup suspension in zmod or the car was moved on the Y axis (forwards or backwards)

If there are black meshes going through the car (usually the suspension), then it's a badly made suspension. Sometimes that can be fixed with a handling, but not all the time.

These are the common bugs that came to my mind right now. I also know these by trying my handling on a vanilla vehicle or even other car mods for a matter of fact, and it works perfectly on those.

Anyway about these GTA V cars, tbh I had the opportunity to make handlings for them, because I know skylinegtrfreak, but I didn't really want to, since they are not real cars. I'd suggest using the Tahoe or Suburban handling for the Granger, the CVPI for the Stainer Cruiser, and the Taurus SHO / Ford PI handling for the ... whatever that Ford Police Interceptor lookalike is :D
