Enforcer: Police Crime Action - Police Simulator

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've been following the development of this game for a while now.  It's a police simulator called Enforcer: Police Crime Action which is coming out on Steam next month on October 24.  Now if you've been following the gaming section you may have noticed Police Tactics, which is the previous name before changing to Enforcer.  Whether than bump the old outdated thread which now has inactivity notice I'd like to make a small collection of updated information surrounding this game.  I have to say I'm really excited from what I've seen from the developers (which is a small game company called Odin of four people).  Now obviously there will be people who may criticize the game for not having the best graphics or "looking dull"  but with that in mind I hope people can appreciate that they're actually coming forward to hopefully make a game that you and I will enjoy playing, as there are not too many police-oriented games out there, certainly not simulators.

So, is there anyone else that's going to give this game a try?

I have to say the "about this game" section is interesting:

While on duty you’ll need to remain ever vigilant and question any suspicious behaviour to protect your small American town from a rising criminal threat. Off duty you’ll need to visit friends, family and live life to its fullest. Your actions while at work and home affect your stress levels. If you spend too much time fighting crime, you will be under severe pressure that will affect your ability to uphold the law.

Not too sure if I like the idea of stress management in a game. But maybe they will do it well, who knows.

In terms of the graphics, yes they could be a lot better. 4 guys managed to make "The Forest" and that is a beautiful game which I love very much. I'll be keeping my eye on this game's launch.

If memory serves me correctly, that game is based on Unreal Engine 3.0-3.5 so its bound to looks good.

Anyways, the game trailer was no-so very well made. First off they show the two publisher title screens way too many times- at the start and at the end again. Whats the logic? Secondly, it looks like SA. Third, the trailer itself was fairly short and fails to feature any fun gameplay elements which provokes the gamer in the viewers.

Moral of the story- they need to find a good director/video editor, first and foremost.

Correct it was. But the 4 guys who made it are also experienced in visual effects having worked in the industry so that helps.

And yes I agree with you about the trailer. Hence why I said I would keep my eye on it's launch. I'm neither excited nor against its release.

I'm not so sure- it looks promising, but the devs did mention that important features like A.I. backup won't be in the initial release (probably added in a later update), so I may wait before trying this.

Finally, an at least decent looking police game.

I still prefer LCPDFR over this, though. The game looks like it's from 2003.

If it supports mods, I'm sure it will be a big hit within this community. If not...well

This would also be something to convince me a little more.

You bet I would want to mod my Ford Taurus and Robocop models.  :whistling:

I will probably end up playing the game but its not something I will be really excited for, it has a few things I don't like starting with the driving which is on that trailer. It seems too arcade like and doesn't have much realism to it. The models for the vehicles and other textures don't seem to of had much work on it making it look like a really old game. It has nice looks to it such as the UI but it could do with a lot more progress focussing on the realism and physics of the game.

🕵️‍♂️ Always watching, always waiting.

My PC can't run either game, so I think I'll just stay with watching YouTube videos of other people playing LCPDFR.

In all seriousness, I'm actually not too enthusiastic about the release of Enforcer. While I do always appreciate and commend the effort put into projects like this, Enforcer just seems like it's going to lack any serious gameplay. At the moment, It seems like Enforcer is going to be a hard game to actually role-play in. I've also heard that it's lacking basic, but major features and components to be somewhat successful. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how things play out. Worst case scenario, I'll buy a new PC and get LCPDFR.

Looks decent, although driving looks pretty silly. Could be fun though, I'll definitely follow this.

Not sure I like the stress management thing. If I want to police in a video game, I'm not looking for The Sims.

Still think this game is a sham, and always will.

I'd rather put money betting the devs will slowly disappear with lined pockets than throw money at this...whatever the hell you want to call it.

What they have now is hardly a game. The footage theyve shown barely shows anything they've worked on aside from the environment and shitty lighting systems. You'd be insane to support this.

Steam Greenlight was an awesome addition to steam, but the early access plague has taken a lot of peoples cash with little to nothing in return in terms of game quality. EA games are a big nono for me now.

Edit:
Like seriously? Who the hell lifts a vic...

The game was on Greenlight, but wasn't actually Green...lit. They got a publisher (Excalibur) so didn't need the Greenlight thing anymore. It's being released as a full game, not early access, but I think there will be updates in the future (but they really are not obligated by anyone to update since it will be a full game). Of course, you could be right, and it's good to be skeptical in today's world where any neckbeard in a basement can be a "professional" game developer.

I do agree the game could probably be more polished, it seems like they've been rushing the development since getting a publisher, but I'm still going to pick it up when it's released.

"Work and ideas get stolen, then you keep moving on doing your thing."

Seems like it needs some work, but it definately looks pretty good

Only thing is, hope a lot of attention is given to detail. I may stand alone on this, or I may not, but I like to see radio traffic, cruisers, lighting patterns, sirens, officer ped models, weapons, pullover protocol, frisking, search warrants, etc. down to the utmost detail. I would love to see this game take off, especially if youre able to mod it & people can further contribute to the game. But I'm hoping there can be a huge leap in detail of the game before a release
