Hey guys!

To keep it short: I'm looking for tactical "shooters" like SWAT4 (maybe somebody knows this) or even Rainbow Six (RS is more like a "real" shooter, but still tactical style).

Insurgency is probably the best new one out there.

Call of Duty! lol jk. Insurgency looks really good, like c13 said. Besides that, maybe Arma 3, possibly? 

Arma 3 is the most realistic, I have it and I'm too intimidated to play online lol. There's also Insurgency, and I guess Heroes and Generals if you like WWII games. H&G is free btw

I have Arma III too, but I have thought about SWAT-like tactical games. Simulations like Arma III for example, just with SWAT and crooks/terrorists (like SWAT4/SWAT3).

Swat 3 (I'm assuming you've played it) is about as good as it gets. The tactical fps scene has gone into hibernation other than Insurgency and Takedown Your Trousers Red Sabre.

Yes, Takedown: Red Sabre is really, really, really bad, watched a review. I might buy SWAT3, are there expansion packs that I need to mod it or will it work the way it is? Because.. you needed The Stetchkov Syndicate to be able to mod SWAT4.

Depending on who you are playing with Counter Strike can be a tactical game. I wouldn't be surprised if there are clans out there that use realistic tactics for Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).

I tried it at a free weekend. I enjoyed it, but It's not the kind of tactical game I'm looking for.

 

I'm talking about things like SWAT3+4. There need to be missions in buildings.

Maybe the story of the next Rainbow Six will be nice.

Shouldn't have to wait to long. It seems like any big sale Steam has CSGO is always up there.

Yep, Raven Shield. The AI mechanics are awkward due to the age of the engine, but still fun today, none the less.

Sorry for the very late reply but for Swat 3, you made need to spend some time getting it to work. The Swat 3 last resort website (http://swat3lastresort.info/) is fantastic for mods and is pretty much all that is left of the modding community for Swat 3 :(

 

Honestly, I thought the Stetchkov syndicate was terrible and seemed to make the game more difficult as well as introducing bugs that weren't in Swat 4. I've only played the Stetchkov Syndicate once and I'm still happy with that fact. Only upside is the voice recognition mod.

 

But anyway, back to Swat 3. You will need a video codec for it to work but other than that, it is as easy as installing as anything else. I found my copy in a charity shop for £2. Best £2 spent by anyone, ever. The game can't stand up graphically to anything but the gameplay is still better the Swat 4 :)
