Well, it may take a LOT of coding, but how about a real life MDT (Optional for all you people who don't like stuff like this) , like when you get a call and you get on scene, you go into your MDT and update your status to "On-scene" (Seen in picture below), and when you make a traffic stop it doesn't just say "Warrant for arrest" it gives you why they have a warrant, same for traffic stops, it tells you what they had a traffic stop for to determine how much their ticket is. And on your way to the call, you get a close by unit to assist with the call (Whatever it is) and after a call you write a short but sweet report (Again, this whole MDT thing would be optional) that would make the mod even more realistic.

I meant a whole MDT (Map, Status, Admin menu, and priority button) not just those above, everything on a normal MDT

In all fairness, this IS Liberty City. I would not be suprised if some grumpy detective have a confiscated RPG stuffed in the back of his car.

But anyway, OP, LCPDFR is about realism. If I remember correctly, there's a mission in TBOGT where NOOSE rappel down from a chopper. Might be mistaken. It may have been a dream.

ignore about RPG, but how about NOOSEs are drop down from a chopper using a rope. thats going to be cool!

I agree, it's cool. But unless it's in the game, animation wise, it's not going to be possible. Devs, correct me if I am wrong.

And again, LCPDFR is about realism. I doubt that NOOSE would deploy grenades (maybe smoke, stun, flash though).

I'm not disagreeing with you there, I agree that NOOSE deployment would be a cool feature to implement. But, it's a hard thing to implement and I doubt the devs are concetrating on those things, since LCPDFR is more about the regular day for a beat cop, and less about terrorism and larger anti-crime operations. Just saying! :)

Most likely something like this won't happen. Too much work for too little gain.

Yes, it could be.

I would rather like to see higher emphasis on the MDT in-game. A real-time crime map would be great, where you could choose which crime to respond to, just like the "Incident Menu" - and the incident has a "preffered unit" that it would want to respond - e.g. a van full of officers, a traffic unit or just a standard IRV. This would add a more professional "modern policing" feel to the game and less of a "baggy shirts, overweight donut loving lazy cop" feel that so many of us despise.

Back on subject:

Investigations would be another good emphasis, e.g. someone reported robbery but no one is there, and you have to look around - and there is a small chance that there is a gang waiting to jump out on you (we could have an option to make them armed or unarmed, for us UK policing users as well). This would encourage the player teaming up with partners, be it AI or human in MP putting more emphasis on urban policing, which is much more satisfying and faithful to the original Liberty City setting. This should be optional by preference so the user isn't forced to team up if they don't want to use the AI.

There is a bug with the MDT in-game where no buttons show up, and the MDT has no possible way of being closed - not even with "reloadscripts". Please add a hotkey to delete the overlay in the next version - we don't want to restart our whole game because of that bug.

Also please keep the ability for us to reskin it - it would be great to still be able to have Metropolitan Police, LAPD and NYPD MDTs in-game.

Longer and rarer missions could be optionally added if the user wishes by .ini with a low probability chance of happening, providing a more satisfying feel and sense of completion.

police help you on foot chase

new world events

better partner

police station armory

Assign units to help you or follow you in convoy like to help with bait car

more aware backup

Edited by atiwarie

how about a booking area where you process a criminal?

This isn't possible due to no working interiors. The only thing that could happen is dropping off the suspect at the station.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.
