GTA V: NEW Trailers Video and Discussion

"Because of piracy"? No way! Rockstar Games is very proud on their PC modding community, they won't forget us!  I think the PC version needs a bit more attention from the developers to make it compatible with more sorts of hardware configurations (setups) + they want to optimize it (just like Max Payne 3) they don't want to fall into the same trap as they did with GTA IV (PC) that was badly optimized.

  • Fair enough. Could you imagine the hell a Driving Standards Agency or the police would go through if one existed in LC?   "Yeah, I need a check on a yellow taxi, plate is "LIBERTY CITY".   ... fuc

  • i hope we will se more Police actions

  • Looks like R* have thrown us a bone with the new police cars and stuff!

The game is still not announced for PC. Some gaming sites are saying it's possible for a later release, like GTA IV, but others are saying that it's unlikely due to pirating.

As i said in another topic, they are releasing it on PC, it will be released about 6 months later than the console version as they want to generate enough profit for them to make up the pirated copies. This is from my personal source IRL that works for R*.

Yeah I find it extremely unlikely that it would never be ported to PC. Plain and simple, they are in the business of making games and making profit. It just doesn't make any sense from a business perspective to pass up a potential profit margin by not porting your product to another device.

What I could see Rockstar doing in the time being though is exhausting the PS3 and Xbox market first. Then once they see a significant dropoff in sales they would probably spend time developing it for PC. However, I don't think it's likely for them to invest a lot of time or energy in optimizing it for PC any better than GTA IV was. What I see them doing is launching incentives such as additional DLC or perhaps special features and ultimately launching a mediocore port. While waste hundreds of thousands in payroll up front when they can have a small team developing and releasing patches later.

Where did you read this shit?

It's quite an old screen if I'm not mistaken though.

Well, it's on page 2 of 7 on the homepage, so I don't think it's that old.

Also, if you look closely at the Vapid, you can see lights on the rambar, and the lightbar on the roof seems to be a LED bar, so its setup matches the one that the cars from the new trailers have got.

they want to optimize it (just like Max Payne 3)

I bought Max Payne 3 on Steam and 1) it won't play in full screen 2) the audio never matches the video in cutscenes. I don't know if this is common, I haven't felt like looking up solutions yet, I'm just saying that it isn't perfectly optimized. I should be able to get in game and play, like I can on a console.

As i said in another topic, they are releasing it on PC, it will be released about 6 months later than the console version as they want to generate enough profit for them to make up the pirated copies. This is from my personal source IRL that works for R*.

No offense, but the only source that I consider reliable is Rockstar themselves, not "someone who knows someone who works for Rockstar." I won't believe it until Rockstar officially announces it. Not that I don't think it will be released for PC; quite the contrary, I'm pretty sure they will release it eventually.

"Work and ideas get stolen, then you keep moving on doing your thing."

Unlikely due to pirating? From which kind of special school do these people come from?

So R* would rather not have ANY money from PC gamers, than all the money from the buyers and nothing from some people who pirate it? Makes perfect sense, fuck logic.

There might also be people who would buy it on Xbox who instead pirate it on PC. Also, it's not exactly free to port a game - if they think they'll make less revenue from a PC version than they spend in porting, testing, support, marketing, etc., then they won't port it.

I've compiled all 3 trailers into a video. :)

Check out my LCPD videos

This thread sounds like people having an orgasm every time a new pictures come out lol. I think Rockstar is teasing us Law Enforcement enthusiasts with all this pictures with cop cars. I'm more interested to see more trailers or maybe a leak of that gameplay demo some gaming news companies played at R* headquarters. Reading up on the demo news, I want to see what they got to see, not some screenies. Don't get me wrong, They look fantastic but I'm not satisfied with screenshots. According to the news updates there are 3 counties, the map is 3x bigger than RDR, there are wildlife animals, you can switch characters instantly, the map is already unlocked, more cars than GTAIV (possibly IV & DLC's combined), there are underwater stuff to explore like sunken ships and maybe easter eggs and treasure, and a lot more goodies for us gamers. All I know is once I get the game, the first thing I'm going to do is exactly what I did in RDR...... go hunting. Then when I'm done i'm exploring the whole map and beyond the depths of the ocean. Forget doing the story line. I got plenty of time for that. I'd rather have fun first then beat the game later!

By now I ran out of money to throw at the screen so I'm just tossing pocket change every time new stuff come out.
