Which version of ELS you use has a major effect on it. Version 6 the AI police almost never use their lights. ELS version 5 they use them more often, and during times that they don't, there's a mini script called ELSFix that gives you a button to force their lights to come on or shut off within a 90 meter radius. Even still though, some police cars will hit their sirens when you use ELSFix, but not display their lights. Currently I'm using V5 with ELS fix and it gets the job done better than V6 does. It's a shame I can't use my takedown lights and my overheads at the same time, but I'd rather have a fleet of police cars that have working overheads than one police car with working lights and the rest just following along at a high speed.

I thought it was the opposite..in v6 the ai use it almost all the time in pursuits where v5 they don't use it nearly as much

I've seen the AI not use the lights with the standard non-ELS vehicles in the game, so it's a programming issue with the game it seems.

 

Probably comes from AI behavior. I see it most when playing normal and having AI partners during a chase. When they pull agro by shooting at the cops, the lights and siren on those cars turn off, and their chase behavior changes, for the worse, usually.

 

LCPDFR has functions that make it so cops react in chases more like they do to the player, rather than the odd behavior they normally have with other peds.

 

So yeah, that particular behavior isn't the fault of anything but the game itself.

Well if that is what you mean I am gonna repeat myself yet again.

The God Mode CANNOT be fixed because the extra system which ELS uses is hardcoded by Rockstar. That means whenever ELS is on the car continuously rebuilds itself.

I can live with this "car rebuild thing" when the els is on, what i REALLY want is that the AI cars can use the ELS without the game crashing, but what i understand, it should be possible in this new version ELS v7, if im not mistaken.

 

few requests:

1. i do hope it will support other vehicles also, like utility trucks, boats and so on :)

2. please fix the problem with ai cops that not using the lights, have all the lights turn off, you always see a police car with one of the "blu or red"lights turn on, small "bug" but would be nice if its fixed :)

 I believe NicolaiB did mention in this thread earlier that there is support for Boats and other vehicles. And that the bugs has mostly been fixed.

I am not very sure how many times I have said this. idk on this but will the feature make the lights a little bit faster, i now you can change them in the ini setting but will they be like the evcs? that go fast?

I think he meant without the sirens for the cars to pull over just turning the lights on

ELS V7, Well I feel I'm respected enough to ask this question without being merged or chastised for it. I know this is asked a lot on different forums, but I feel it should be stated correctly before deleted or closed. We know there well be a public release before more improvements are made. Most people have been waiting since 3 weeks ago, when the words "Coming Soon!!" were used. I however found out about this last week. Which brings us to the question. Do we have a crude idea of when ELS V7(A)(B) or full release will be. Maybe a time frame?

You *will* be chastised. Don't ask for release dates. The reason respected people aren't chastised for this is that they *don't* ask for it; being respected doesn't make you immune to chastisement.

Also, why are you convinced you'll see a release before more improvements are made? Because that isn't necessarily the case.

If we have learned anything from Simcity, its that waiting isn't necessarily all that bad. But, if you are upset at the time its taking, Im sure you can request a full refund of the purchase price. I was shocked when I bought FSX and found that every mod made was actually charging money (a lot of money). And those mods didn't do what ELS or LCPDFR do for GTA 4. Not even close. Patience is a virtue, m'friends.

infact they don't. I'm using v6 ELS and the car had never pulled over when using ELS siren, the car didn't even flash it's rear lights as it would want to pull over. May there be someting wrong in my ELS settings?

We're not talking about v6. We're talking about v7.

not sure if mentioned so far, but can you save light patterns for each car model?  like noose uses patterns xyz, polpatriot uses bvzy and so forth

 

it does become a pain to  get some pri and sec  to work together over and over after repeated game crashes (one of these days)

I cannot wait to give this a try in multiplayer; many of the improvements and new features look like they will benefit multiplayer games immensely. And I have to admit, I'm in love with the ability to set at save default flash patterns for each vehicle...
