  1. Just checked, didn't get an update. If you don't plan on doing anything Steam-related for th enxt few minutes, I'd recommend validating cache. Suggestion for the future: Use your Steam install as your vanilla/backup directory, and create a new folder for your modified save (I have 3)
  2. Are you saying it's looking like this? If that's your problem, crank up your car.defaultlight.emissive.on value found in your .../common/data/visualsettings.dat file. Edit: Be careful not to go overboard, or it'll look unrealistic and dim the screen as you look at it if it's a white light:

  5. Depends on the town. Beaumont you can generally get away with 10%/5 over, but God forbid you do one over in Lumberton.
  6. What they don't teach you in driving school: Pulling your big toe up off the pedal can make a 5 MPH difference. 5 MPH can be the difference between speed limit and speeding ticket. (Context: Around here cops won't pull you over unless you're doing more than either 10% or 5MPH over the speed limit, whichever is larger.
  7. Off-topic in spoiler. That's gotta be the Taurus, the grille and general nose shape on it isn't (visibly, anyway) a blatant ripoff of an Aston. One question though: What the hell's with the shifter column? That disc thing is going to be so awkward trying to pull into gear, it's so short it won't offer enough torque at all. Oh my word those hideaways, they're almost invisible if you don't know what you're looking for. Can anyone ID that lightbar? (There's a pretty good close-up around 6 minutes in)
  8. Me going into the thread: "Does it look like vomit?" Me coming out of the thread: "Holy shit I want that demo car in my GTA4."

  10. Can we get a lighting preview? I can't toggle any of the extras myself in OpenIV, it's done kind of funny.
  11. What all does this entail for the people that will be downloading the files?
  12. Off-topic in spoiler. I worry too much about my public image, honestly. I'm insecure, stemming from secondary/high school, and it hasn't gotten better in uni.
  13. Ah, dailymail... Britain's Onion. That's a bit more than creepy though.
  14. Just curious, has anyone taken that audio from GTA5 and made a GTA4 siren out of it yet? I'd really like to patrol with that siren for a little while, the Whelen 295SL100 is getting a little bit stale for me. Edit: Referring to the next-gen siren. In case the timecode doesn't properly copy, it's 57 seconds in
  15. There's your problem. Steam installs GTA4 to ...steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto IV/GTAIV
  16. Jesus, I'm surprised I haven't heard any cars telling me to beware.
  17. I used a bloody RockBand mic for a good long while. Worked great, crisp audio, no discernible buzz; but kept falling off the desk; one day I accidentally stepped on it going to something else in my room and broke it. One thing to note about audio: It's notsomuch the mic itself you get (although the mic itself plays a large part) but more so the environment you're recording/transmitting in. If you run the mic in a room with little to no furniture and hard floors, you'll get a nasty echo effect, whereas if you get a room with lots of furniture and a carpeted floor you'll get better quality than the room mentioned at the start of this sentence. tldr: Don't overlook other factors: awesome mic + crappy space < decent mic + OK space Addendum: This video helped me back when I started. It might help you as well.
  18. "Feh." I honestly can't say if my comp will run it, I need to update my processor soon and it might not like running on ~4 gigs of RAM.
  19. I'm uncertain, I've been running police3/4/b for three months now and I've yet to see a backup response utilizing them.
  20. Yeah, it wouldn't spawn if you're running GTA4, you'd have to be running EFLC for that last I'd checked.
  21. IF that doesn't work, I know back in the day I had a script titled "Traffic Spawner" which would randomly spawn a vehicle from a set list every few seconds.
  22. I'm not 100% certain since I recently replaced the vehicle, but any pattern which does not use e1 and e3, or e2 and e4 together should work. You should probably note that the left mirror/deck/reverse light is mapped for extra_1 AND extra_3 (and similarly mapped for the other side) so if you use a pattern which illuminates both colours on the lightbar, you will have both reverse/mirror/deck lights illuminate. I always used 89 for ELS8, if that helps any. It's what I was using when I recorded the "headlight" portion of the corona patterns video. (>relevant thread)
  23. Oh God, it's the >Solex of ANPRs.
