  1. It doesn't? I fail to see how... /ELS/ contains the VCFs, els.ini is ELS's base settings and els.asi is the actual script.
  2. The main way is to delete .../ELS/ , .../ELS.ASI and .../ELS.ini
  3. EvilJackCarver commented on XxiJumpxX's gallery image in GTA IV Galleries
  4. In your standardized "thread locked" formatting, you say "If you feel this has been done in error, please report this post" or something to that nature. That report goes directly to Iconography, or are you able to act on it (i.e. to unlock) if it was you who was reported?
  5. From personal experience: The LCPDFR CT is a lot more consistent with moderation than the Gamebanana moderation staff. Here, all of my 11 filed reports were responded to within the day (I'd give a mean response time but I can't get a timestamp) - on Gamebanana, about 57% of my reports do not go anywhere. Their moderation is inconsistent to the point to where they'll take one submission down for something but refuse to take something else down for the same thing. So yeah, LCPDFR's community team is all right in my book.
  6. Go on. Edit: This was an invitation to begin discussion. I don't see the downsides that you would (since you're the author) but since I blocked it through firewall: It has not stopped working due to an update. It has not locked up and forced me to either update or not use it.It has not gone through the series of problems that users who have been forced to update have experienced. >* (this thread) >* >* (you've replied to this)
  7. Once you have it working, word of advice: Save yourself the headaches and block openIV from calling home to check for updates. I did it back in 1.6.1 and it still works like a charm.
  8. I don't even understand what your issue is. Can you answer at least the following: What is the problem with? What are you trying to do? How are you trying to accomplish what you are trying to do? What is it doing instead of what you're trying to do? Are you getting any errors? Have you recently changed anything? Please post relevant logs, if they exist.
  9. Express Mode is the solution. For more information on Express Mode, consult page 11 of the manual.
  10. I'm glad it's getting use, but I'm more nitpicking about the inconsistent framerate.
  11. I eventually need to re-record that...
  12. Without external tools, it's impossible to map ELSv8 to a controller sans Express Mode. For more information about Express Mode, consult the user manual. If you have spare buttons on your controller, you may wish to set the ELS keys to some keys you more than likely will NOT use in normal gameplay, then map the free button to it. Because I do not personally use external tools to map my controller, I cannot further assist, however.
  13. I'm agnostic, despite being raised Episcopalian. Most parts of the bible are well over a thousand years old, thus I consider the amount of truth in it to be hazy. English was not the first language it was written in, nor was it likely it was the first language for it to be translated to, thus some parts of it may have been lost in translation. Adding onto all of that, back around the Son's era, there were different values - science was hardly around near the start of the Common Era. Whether or not there is a Higher Power at play, I do not know, nor is it for me to know.
  14. Most people have them wired as headlights.
  15. Set the lighting stage activation tyupe (not sure off the top of my head what the key is) to "jump" (goes to LSTG3, than 0), "euro" (LSTG goes to 3, then 0, but does not have the slider clicking), or "inverted" (LSTG goes to 3, then 2, then 1, then 0.), or alternatively turn on Express Mode (ELS functions like the game's built-in siren system.)
  16. FS Vision SLR, FS Valor, Whelen Edge 9000 (but it's hard to find one properly-mapped) Edit: And, as a nice change in topic, my 3 LEAST favourite lightbars: Whelen Liberty, (I mean come on, every department and their mother uses it... get creative!) Code 3 Solex, (You might want to see a doctor about that tumour... I mean yes, it's unique but JEEZUS...) FS Arjent (I get it, FedSig hates linear lightbars but an ellipsoid lightbar just looks wrong in my opinion. I don't see the advantage at the critical 45° angles that an ellipsoid can provide.)
  17. Thanks for the knowledge. I'll be sure to let the computer fully enter hibernate mode before I slide it in the bag in the future. Bit of an addendum: Apparently Seagate HDDs are more failure-prone than Hitachi or Western Digital.[1] My HDD is indeed a Seagate, so hopefully the replacement will be Hitachi. The "Reallocated Sector Count" and the "Pending Sector Count", though at this point I can't even reinstall the OS on it (I was having issues immediately before when small [<1 meg] file transfers would hang, figured "backup > reformat > reinstall OS") The full stats (multiple screenshots because I haven't bothered to attempt to splice them together) are in the spoiler. 18. If you want to do it legitimate, start up a mission that takes a short while (>4 minutes) to complete, do it, find another that takes >4m to complete, do it... Rinse, repeat. If you're morally bankrupt, /r/gtaglitches has all of the latest glitches in the megathread.
  19. Quick question, for anyone that can answer: After about how long does an average, run-of-the-mill laptop SATA HDD experience problems? (In specific, bad sectors.) The reason I ask is my university laptop which I've owned for approximately 3¼ months (bought new) popped up with this lovely notice at uni today: (Note: it's up to 2062 bad sectors now) Again, I've owned it for 3¼ months and it feels a bit odd for it to happen so early in the laptop's life. It's still under warranty and I have not physically opened the laptop, so the warranty shouldn't be voided (unless disabling Windows' DRM in the BIOS and installing Ubuntu voids the warranty, in which case, god damn that's one bad warranty) so I'll be sending it back later this week.
  20. My collection of diecasts are somewhere in the tangled mess that is my room, probably bent all to hell
