  1. When people ask a question without reading the documentation which is associated with what their question is about. Another big one is when someone posts a public thread asking for support, then when you respond they take it to private communications channels. It's a tech support thing. Edit: Also I can't stand when people unnecessarily abbreviate (i.e. "you" to "u", "too" to "2", "why" to "y"...) Whoop-dee-fucking-doo, you managed to save two whole keystrokes. Edit² - Adding two more onto this one, but - When people ask me a question of opinion, then reject my answer when I give it. You asked, now listen. - When people append "y'know" to the end of a sentence. It sounds goddamn condescending.
  2. EDIT: Just checked again, it's gone now. Must have caught the tail end of Cyan/Malediction testing something; feel free to lock this or nuke it or what have ye. So I went through the forum earlier and every member's post sidebar has a green button that shows a link to "Edit Staff Profile". Clicking this button takes me to a page with a toggle box labelled "Golden Toolbox". I haven't attempted to toggle it yet. Is this intentional?
  3. Mine's not vanilla, but I know what files the only mod I run uses. Here's the dir output, mod files deleted: 2015-05-10 15:32:19.32 C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto V $dir Volume in drive C is SARCASM DRIVE Volume Serial Number is E003-8443 Directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto V 2015-05-03 22:23 <DIR> . 2015-05-03 22:23 <DIR> .. 2015-04-13 18:21 435,712 bink2w64.dll 2015-04-13 18:42 28,256,256 common.rpf 2015-04-13 18:21 3,873,208 d3dcompiler_46.dll 2015-04-13 18:21 1,916,872 d3dcsx_46.dll 2015-04-13 18:21 3,640,320 GFSDK_ShadowLib.win64.dll 2015-04-13 18:21 94,720 GFSDK_TXAA.win64.dll 2015-04-13 18:21 94,720 GFSDK_TXAA_AlphaResolve.win64.dll 2015-04-30 06:57 51,325,832 GTA5.exe 2015-04-30 06:57 18,952,072 GTAVLauncher.exe 2015-04-17 07:46 <DIR> Installers 2015-04-17 07:18 432 installscript.vdf 2015-04-18 10:04 4,327 README.txt 2015-04-13 18:21 121,256 steam_api64.dll 2015-04-30 06:58 <DIR> update 2015-04-13 18:07 <DIR> x64 2015-04-13 18:42 48,699,392 x64a.rpf 2015-04-13 18:42 200,775,680 x64b.rpf 2015-04-13 18:45 2,196,207,616 x64c.rpf 2015-04-13 18:46 1,804,668,928 x64d.rpf 2015-04-13 18:48 2,115,954,688 x64e.rpf 2015-04-13 18:50 1,028,757,504 x64f.rpf 2015-04-13 18:53 2,552,596,480 x64g.rpf 2015-04-13 18:55 1,699,563,520 x64h.rpf 2015-04-13 18:57 1,787,043,840 x64i.rpf 2015-04-13 19:00 2,109,519,872 x64j.rpf 2015-04-13 19:03 2,365,648,896 x64k.rpf 2015-04-13 19:07 2,577,571,840 x64l.rpf 2015-04-13 19:09 1,807,249,408 x64m.rpf 2015-04-13 19:12 1,638,481,920 x64n.rpf 2015-04-13 19:14 1,758,345,216 x64o.rpf 2015-04-13 19:16 1,428,606,976 x64p.rpf 2015-04-13 19:19 2,823,614,464 x64q.rpf 2015-04-13 19:22 1,711,259,648 x64r.rpf 2015-04-13 19:24 1,646,266,368 x64s.rpf 2015-04-13 19:26 1,924,630,528 x64t.rpf 2015-04-13 19:28 1,354,405,888 x64u.rpf 2015-04-13 19:29 1,942,046,720 x64v.rpf 2015-04-13 19:31 937,340,928 x64w.rpf 2015-04-13 18:07 <DIR> _CommonRedist 39 File(s) 39,567,991,069 bytes 6 Dir(s) 131,109,027,840 bytes free
  4. Question: At what point down the line, if any, could I expect the Support Dashboard (the place where I could see the posts I've reported) to be re-implemented? (I'm not looking for a specific date, "near future"/"distant future"/"never" works well enough for me)
  5. Glad to see there's a tool to crack and edit the archives! Now we just wait for alternative programs to pop up...
  6. The default FOV gives me motion sickness. I'm used to 90+°H, not 55-60°H.
  7. They didn't directly answer the FOV question though, and that's what worries me.
  8. I'm one of the not-banned ones. FOV mod. Here's proof I'm not banned, taken last night to show a friend something and there's proof I'm running an FOV mod (Timestamps: First: 2015-05-06 20:08 Second: 2015-05-04 06:15:29 [PM] - right-click, SAVE AS... to check
  9. Can potentially refute. Take a look at any of the various GTA sub-Reddits and you'll see a lot of folks whining about being banned for modding. I'd get one myself but it's 01:24 and I'm going to bed in all of 6 minutes.
  10. Refer to user documentation, page 17.
  11. I remember someone saying long ago something about needing a collision to stop it, but it's been a good long time since I've heard it. IANAM
  12. It always gets me when I'm editing a post, which before the switch I did more often than I care to admit. Now I can't even edit my signature without trashing it and starting over - and the only reason for this is if I try to copy-paste a link in a url= tag, the url= doesn't parse and I'm stuck with something along the lines of [url=[url=http://example.com]http://example.com]something or other I'd like linked. I'm fairly certain this post is also going to do it (recursively!), as without a preview function I've no clue if the BBCode will parse one way or the other. Edit: Called it.
  13. Wouldn't be possible with ELS as it is; the closest you'll be able to get is to map the first light 7, 8 AND 9; the second light 1, 2, 3 and 4; and the third light 5 and 6 - even then, if all of the 3 TA lights, 4 lightbar lights or 2 takedown flashers are off during one point in the flash cycle, OR anything's mapped to a moving surface (i.e. having the extra_5/extra_6 as numberplate flashers attached to the boot of the car) it wouldn't work properly. It also might not work properly depending on which version of ELS the client is using; ELS7 has a different activation sequence than ELS8.
  14. My main gripe is the lack of a dedicated BBCode editor (if only so I can properly use the acronym tag again) but that's... probably not going to happen. Hell, I'd settle with markdown at this point, both allow me to have finer control in what gets linked, bolded, &c Also the fact that I can't edit the details of my file to fix the line breaks in the credits which got nuked by the upgrade, but that's another thread in the support forum for another time.
  15. At least this means no more trainer kiddies in online. Not too sure how I feel about FOV mods, though; I was using one for a short while leading up to the bans (thankfully, my account wasn't hit with one)
  16. I have never seen that happen in my playtime. Does it happen in Online as well, or just SP? O/T in spoiler. A good few things in GTA 4 are superior in my opinion than they are in GTA5. For example, pedestrian AI in general. If they fall, they reach out to grab something to try to catch themselves. I also prefer GTA4 handling over GTA V's - the tyre grip feels a bit silly, but it feels more realistic. Granted, I can see why GTA V would need the arcade handling.

  18. I'm partial to anything with a Touchmaster well, as well as a good Powercall siren. A Whelen 295SL100 siren did me for a while, but now I'm running a D&R Intimidator when I do play GTA4.
  19. As stated numerous times above, they were done on the X1/PS4 versions. I created a thread mentioning it here, asking if anyone'd made a siren for it yet; but that was back a couple of months ago.
  20. That was fast. I expected a few more weeks before any word was out on what the G17M team was planning, especially with the whole pedantic trademark issue going around. Great job so far!
  21. Your CPU is probably going to be a bad bottleneck, judging by frequency alone. One thing I need to mention: "gaming laptop" is an oxymoron.
