What is good FPS for playing games such as GTA V and in general?
35 is better than 30. Just know that mouse sensitivity is directly linked to the framerate, so if it goes above 35 your mouse will be more sensitive than it would be if you get, say, 25.

Latency (AKA lag) == the time it takes for data to travel from point A to point B. Frame skip ~= low framerate.

35 would be better than console, yes (don't confuse frame skip and latency!)

I'm not certain, but I believe it's the same as the regional framerate. (IIRC, it's cgen that's double)

TV is 30 in NTSC regions, 25 in PAL. USA is in the NTSC region.

Dull colors ELS 8.5
The reason it appears orange is because of the specific texture that's mapped to the lightbar proper. You can change it to be more red in your image editor of choice, however be aware that if you go too far with the texture (i.e. making it a red box) it may look unrealistic on the lightbar with your emissive.on value that low.

ELS Mapping Help
Yes, I'm aware. It's the same process, but you're doing it on the control box instead of in the back window.

ELS Mapping Help
I'm not sure exactly how inaccurate this may be since it's for v3-v6, but the execution shouldn't change much. http://www.lcpdfr.com/tutorials/index.action/vehicle-modification-tutorial/how-to-map-emergency-lights-on-vehicles-for-els-v3-v6-r16/

All the more visibility for the cruiser at intersections. You'd be surprised at how many people fail a spot check on a cruiser coming to an intersection.

GTA V files Decrypted! Mods soon?!
Glad to see that didn't take long. Let's hope OpenIV won't be the only tools to open a GTA5 archive... (Context: I haven't updated OpenIV past 1.6.1 [in fact, I even disabled its ability to call home through firewall] because A. I hate being forced to update shit in order to use it at all, and B. A couple of months ago there was word of OpenIV doing nasty things to vehicle installs (namely corrupting the IMG file). Edit: A link for bullet point B.

Is there a way to change the post box into some form of "dedicated BBCode mode"?
Shame. Thanks.

Is there a way to change the post box into some form of "dedicated BBCode mode"?
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to set the reply box into a form of dedicated BBCode mode. I remember on the old forum software there was a toggle at the far left of the formatting buttons that would set it to BBCode, but I'm not seeing anything here and while the new box parses BBCode at least somewhat reliably, if I post a link using the URL tags, it'll link the link, but ignore the URL tagging if I go back to edit it later. (This was [unintentionally] tested in my signature field, where I was linking the "shoot me a PM" text.) tl;dr: Is there a way to set the reply box to force-parse BBCode instead of running as a combination BBCode/WYSIWYG editor?

Could we get a rule regarding spoilers in the GTA5 gallery?
tl;dr read title I know of a few people that have been holding off on playing GTA5 at all until the PC release, a couple of which go on here every now and then (no account I'm aware of), and I'd hate for them to be spoiled by something in the gallery. Could we have a rule added (even if it's just temporary) regarding storyline spoilers?

Everything changes - the new LCPDFR.com
I dunno, the badges were a nice touch. I hope they bring an option to have those in the not-too-distant future. Not a fan of the new editor either, but of course, functionality comes first. One enquiry, though - I don't like showing who all has been the last to visit my userpage, is there a way to turn that off at the moment? Edit: And BenJ's rep score is above -2,147,483,648? what is this nonsense

Happy GTA 5 release for PC :-D
Time to kick my feet up and head to dinner. Or catch a TV show. Wonder what's on these days?
