"Error during Tick in script 'Policing.Policing'" -> Maybe I'm wrong but I believe that it's from Braveheart Policing Script, not PoliceHelper.

 

You're right; error in script "Policing.Policing" is associated with Braveheart's mod.

I have an error report from Police Helper though (kind of a long story, so bear with me). I stopped to help a motorist with his broken down vehicle (not part of any script, just normal GTA IV spawned person), then decided it needed to be towed. When I opened PoliceHelper to call a tow truck, a wounded person came up to me and another PoliceHelper opened behind my current one. I closed my current opened one, which then also closed the one behind it, which then made me punch the motorist I was helping, who then started attacking me. I pressed shift-x to call an ambulance for the injured person sometime in there, too. I then took a gun out to shoot the attacker, which then made a passenger in a vehicle passing by shoot at me, killing me. The ambulance had already spawned for the injured person. When I spawned at the hospital, my game immediately crashed with this error message:

From what I can see it was a problem with the EMS bag...probably because I died while it was spawning on the paramedic ped, but I don't know. Also, I'd like to point out a bug I mentioned in the story where a second PHelper will open when an injured person walks up to you when you already have PHelper opened for another reason (I have mine set to only pause in a vehicle).

Don't know about the crash, maybe like me with the exploding gas station and FDLC, same "error", memory overload.

 

But about PoliceHelper opened twice because of another event like injuried person, I have it often since a long time, it's not new with this version, don't "worry".

I didn't have any bug with that tough, when it happens, I shift+x to call the ambulance, I wait, and I can use the 1st Helper opened by me.

Oh is that what "System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." means? I always thought it was some random error thing that always comes up..lol, never thought of it actually meaning an error with memory overloading!

 

Yeah, the double thing isn't really a problem, it just confused me when it happened.

Well, I said that, but I'm not sure at all ^^ it's a suggestion, because I had a similar problem (see previous page).

I mean, your PoliceHelper had too much things to care about, same thing for the game itself, so maybe it's that.

But only Abraxas can tell you what's really going on.

I see I still have to add some protection for EMS and FDLC. Thank you for detailed report. I didn't thought that events will collide with new pause settings. I'll try to figure out how to make it more user friendly. Blocking events while in PoliceHelper menu is not an option as they may be started before invoking menu.

This error means that script tried to "use" ped/vehicle/object that no longer exists. That's why scripters should check if object exists as often as possible before using it. But as you can see event that my mods are quite well protected from crashing as a whole script or crashing game there still are some places in these thousands lines of code where it can happen.

I was thinking about this the other day....abraxas would it be possible to evolve your police helper to the police computer and have certain call outs and other stuff on the computer since a lot of police officers use there computer to receive calls and check plates for stolen vehicle, the automatic plate reader could be used for this

You have to be a bit more specific.

 

Callouts - I plan to write callouts myself. It's second goal on my roadmap right now. I started to write few callouts already. Of course they will be displayed by PoliceHelper

ALPR - there is an ALPR mod already, Harper works on his ALPR mod and I saw that Sniper296 is making his version too, so I don't think that I should add it.

kinda like how the default computer is set up where it will say gang activity or criminal on foot and then theres the most wanted where you look for a certain suspect at last known location kinda like a warrant only instead of having to kill them all the time just have it where you have to arrest them and only shoot when they fire on you....or there could be a stolen vehicle you run a plate of the car infront of you and it will come back with information and whether its stolen or not like like the automatic plate reader....hit and run suspect and a description of the car and last known location

I was having a issue with the ambulance not responding to the injured person. I did not have this issue with V6, and it seems to be corelated with the same issue of backup not responding.

 

Yeah, I think it's related to the issue with LCPDFR backup. I have that problem with the ambulance every so often, but it isn't every time I call one.

 

And I'm having issues with the FD now, too. Same problem as previously mentioned in this thread, I believe. Not a major problem for me; I barely ever have to call FD and if I do and there's a problem, then fire extinguisher it is :)

I think you may like future updates of PoliceHelper ;)

Sometimes game just isn't able to spawn certain car or ped. It is caused by many different things like small amount of memory, lots of other models currently loaded and other issues.

FDLC assistance is in fact broken in current PoliceHelper and it will be fixed next week.

cp702 had this error but I was pretty sure that I've fixed it. Doy you get crash in help menu too? Also does your game crash only while saving or always when closing settings menu. Last question, do you get any trace of that crash in any log file?

I will try now these & will say soon ;)

 

EDIT: Ok I tried & Help is fine, also if I close Setting without modifying nothing happens, while when changing stuff it crashes.

i am new to LCPDFR, i have been using the PH and i find very realistic and a lot of fun to use. Transports will be a nice addition as i am a Corrections officer and we, and the road deputies get calls for inmate transports to hospitals. This would be great in a updated PH.
