Surely just replacing 0.4 with the current LSPDFR would do the job?

I would imagine mods that don't require LSPDFR would be perfectly fine, Anything that goes into the plugins folder in LSPDFR will likely need to come out at least for a little while, due to the API change to allow time for authors to update them.

So I'm guessing that they're still in hardcore development and we'll probably get an update on the 28th.

I would suspect and just my thoughts on it that right now most the bug fixing etc is probably done what they are probably doing right now is writing up all the guides and read me’s and the new features etc pages on the download section of the site but with read me’s these would of had to change to include instructions on the new features such as character creation and how to setup custom agencies and custom patrol areas etc etc this is all gonna be new to all of us and with any api changes etc this will all need to be covered to avoid the thousand support requests @Sam would probably get otherwise so stay patient whilst I have no inside knowledge I’d say it’s these finishing touches and as confirmed by Sam we will have the mod in February so it’s coming and gonna drop any minute now like so be it the 28th or before which I like most hope it’s before or even today as excited to play 0.4 we just need to chill and let them solely focus on these finishing touches and not policing the forums as even @Sam and @LMS and @willpv23 @Cyan etc want to be able to police in 0.4 not here on the forums so the quicker we all let them get to it the quicker we all get 0.4 too!

I don't think it is our place to say what you will and won't want to have in your game.  All I can say is that LSPDFR 0.4 will let you create your own characters and thus, you won't have to use EUP Menu or anything else (e.g. SkinControl) for that specifically.  

 

This is great, it makes LSPDFR feels more like a stand alone game than a gta v mod.

God I wish I knew all of this before.

Was down for quite a while. Really thought it was going to be released. 

 

Also releasing on the 28th would be lame cause it’s a weekday, probably more likely either this weekend or next Friday-weekend. 

 

A lot of people work during the week and it’s better for hype to release on the weekend.

I would figure they would probably have to do something so as to avoid totally crashing the website. Gonna be a lot of load on the servers. 

 

Also they may be adding another portion of the site if people still want to use 0.3.1 (because 0.4 may not have any callouts). 

 

Plus EUP and a few other things from what I understand (please ELS update?) may be released Arround or at the exact same time which would be a huge ammount or load.

I downloaded GTA V over the last 2 days. I literally only play it for LSPDFR.
