Yeah, frig off T2 cunts. I'll smash ya next time without warning. Cute 2D girls can fight too, ya know.

  • What a major victory for every member of the GTA modding community that kept backing the OpenIV team. Very grateful to everybody who signed the petition, left a negative Steam review and covered this

  • https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/ywz87k/rockstar-games-talks-publisher-into-leaving-grand-theft-auto-v-modders-alone   "Rockstar Games seems to have moderated Take-Two's position,

They just had to add that little piece in at the end, didn't they....

Take-Two reserves the right to object to any third-party project, or to revise, revoke and/or withdraw this statement at any time in their own discretion:pinch:

I wouldn't put it past them to try this crap again.

I am so happy, i signed ToY's petition too. I like my modding hehe and without OpenIV it would not be possible even if i just make random Emergency Service Liveries and no vehicles or scripts. Was afraid i would be stuck doing vehicle liveries in Second Life :3

Thanks @t0y for putting up the petition. This is fantastic news! I see SHV is already updated. It may be a little more of a rocky road, but this is really awesome news! Hopefully take-two learns that they can't just pull this shit Willy-nilly and not expect a huge backlash.

Well, then there'd be another Petition, and more savaging of their Steam Score, among other things...

I have updated openiv but mine virusscanner deleted it automatic ;c, is there a download link of the new openiv? it's not nice to see that the virusscanner delete the progam automatic. Is that a problem by the closing Openiv?

I see we've won! Come on lads!

Ah, but sadly, that means people won't go back to GTA IV. GTA V was a sh*tty port to begin with for me - serials got screwed up, and I still can't play it one year on. Oh well. I'll throw my weight behind GTA V modders, but I can't fully get involved with the fight.

A shame, really. I'm still not shelving out £60 to buy GTA V again. Not after this.

It's been three years, but I'm back again...

As I'm sure everyone will be aware, the single hottest topic recently, throughout the entire GTA community, has been the closure of OpenIV and the controversial statement released by Rockstar Games shortly after.

Today, Rockstar Games have released a new statement, answering Are PC Single-Player mods allowed?:

Obviously, this is fantastic news for everyone, and we're grateful to Rockstar for clarifying the situation.  Furthermore, it's been incredible, just amazing, to see the support from across the gaming community for our cause.

Very quickly, let's also say a special thanks to our very own LSPDFR member @t0y, whose petition to save OpenIV amassed a mind blowing 75,000 signatures in the space of a week!

It's been truly awesome to see the outpouring of support from everyone regarding this.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed towards bringing us this very welcome piece of news.

It was a bloodbath. Hout of the smokes we saw Mario, Mickey, Hulk, and Harambe holding modded M4's, all riding in a lambo. The victory was ours.

Just a small scene I imagined. haha

Seriously this is great news. The modding community won and now I'm just waiting on an update for an openiv link.

Police put their lives on the line for you. Think about how you should treat them, because you may see a familiar cop one day, but not see him the next.

GTA V is a perfect port... can't say much for your issue, but the game runs just fine once it's loaded.

I was one of the people who didn't think the community could inspire T2 to reconsider. It didn't stop me from complaining. I even used Twitter for the first time. It is truly amazing how the community mobilized. Perhaps it was a misinterpretation, but I didn't see how the modding community could continue without OpenIV and Scripthook. Yes, there were work arounds, but there appeared to be a threat to any modder. That fear really inspired the GTA community. The petition, negative ratings, and press reports really caused a problem for T2 and RockStar. The GunRunner Update was forgotten. Steam probably didn't appreciate all the hate going on right around their big Summer Sale. This was serious.

Fortunately, Rockstar and T2 didn't try to just weather the storm. They worked for a solution that should at least ease concerns among the modding community. I don't necessarily like all the lines drawn in the most recent response, but I think it gives most modders some reassurance going forward they won't be the target of a similar C&D notice. I would like to some kind of online solution that allows roleplaying with more indepth scripts, but I really doubt that.

There are some battle scars. I don't know how GTA:V will repair the their Steam rating. Some mods have been lost. And I think some relationships between some Youtubers and the community have been damaged. However, its time to move forward, with a degree of pride. I haven't felt this inspired a minute.

To what end, though?  Clearly Take Two added that final line just to show "we aren't done".  They will do this again, and again, and again.  They are an asshole publisher who has the mindset of "It's our game, you won't do this if we don't approve it". They think they can control what consumers do with a game once it is in their possession.  Take Twats will come back at some point and try again.

Or they added that to be legally clear with the community about their power in the situation. I doubt they're going to try this again, though.

Lets hope not.  The amount of spam this situation caused on here and on the LSPDFR group was annoying. XD

I'm new to LCPDFR and GTA V. I just purchased GTA a couple of days ago but then heard the news about the Cease/Desist order.

Where are we now?

I've checked many video tutorials online on installing the Mod but the online tutorials seem outdated.

Sorry, I don't stand with Ukraine because Biden expects me to for his agenda.

OpenIV is now back up and running. Take-Two/Rockstar learned a valuable lesson when comes to messing with a big part of their community that has kept even their oldest games alive.
