We don't give release dates. Back when LCPDFR was in very early alpha we made the mistake of giving a release date, then failing to meet it by a few days.
The community response was overwhelmingly immature and negative. After that, we made a vow to never give release dates to anybody, not only can they not be guaranteed, but the immature uproar that follows afterword simply isn't worth it.

The same mistake that R* made for GTA V

Maybe it's an idea for version 0.4 to make a K9 dog which you can command to sit down, lay down, and attack. And to make it use chop's AI so he Will also sit on The front seat, or if it is possible to place him into the trunk if that's possible to program.

Seems something more fit for a plugin in my opinion.

Oh, you've created GTA within LSPDFR within GTA, huh? Yo dawg I heard you liked GTA... It's nice to see the animation, though. CopHolster is a little bit "rough", to say the least. Being abl

Meh, i don't wanna be offending or anything but it's never done so i'm just curious about the progress but hey, if you don't wanna give release dates, that's fine.

i'll just kill myself

Actually not, because those plugins are mostly amateur and not really smooth, in my opinion no-one can make those plugins better than the developers of this mod.

That's the point, if they make progress they will show it to the community if they feel like. Asking for the progress to the admins gives a 0.001 chance.

In 0.3 will the Police Computer UI be getting any kind of graphical love and attention? Something other than a command prompt look:smile:

Nice, is it possible to actually merge the police system to work WITH the player, because you add units when they are requested, what I mean is that for example, when I chase down a suspect on a motorway and I see a police vehicle stationary watching traffic, that unit does not help.

"Don't judge me by my actions, but what I seek to acomplish."

I don't mean to be a dick (sometimes online posts can come off that way) but I have been working at General motors for several years now and never once have we kept fans waiting for so long we always give rough Estimates like "Fall 2015". It's supper frustrating loving something that helps you unwind after long stressful days hearing about a sweet update then having to wait months on end with 0 end in sight. I know it's free but I would spend $200 on this in 2.5 seconds and so would many others but  this turns me all the way off to wanting to do that. I feel like it would be putting money into something that may or may not happen (not saying it's not just how it feels). The game now crashes so much it's not even playable it would be nice to at least know some kind of release window even if it's 12 months away that way I know when I can expect to be able to play again. I fully understand missing deadlines and having people complain but this to me is way worse, a bunch of excited people being told "just wait stop asking so for a release date". Well most  people who present upcoming things give some kind of  of release date  window, I would have just put it out when it was done instead of months and moths of little updates JS (wouldn't have people asking you the same thing over and over again either). And again i wasn't trying to be rude just find this way of doing things  bit strange, have a blessed day and keep up the hard work. (side note: some of the best cars come from delayed release dates so remember that people when your waiting for your favorite things to come out)

Yeah, I don't think any sane person would pay that much money for any game..

I would for something this unique you can't get something like this from anywhere else and the time spent on it would for sure be worth it in my opinion, maybe I just like this game that much IDK.

You're just super excited.. We all are, but they have stated several times why they don't want to give a release date.. I don't remember all the details, but if you look through this and the other previews, they have stated why.. I understand where they are coming from.. I will just play 0.2 and do other things in the mean time.. I rather have the minimal amount of bugs as possible.. If you are saying

wouldn't you rather wait and not have more of the same? I do understand your excitement though, I am super excited for 0.3 as well has many many others. I honestly think they made a decision and they are sticking to it..

I have no issue with waiting at all I just think it would make more sense to just release it when it's ready, I'm used to updates like this leading up to a release date of some kind so this is all new to me.

Sorry if I came off as disrespectful that was not what I was trying to do.

I don't think you did at all.. You've got every right to say what you want.. Besides it's up to the moderators to make a decision on what is disrespectful and what isn't. I was just merely pointing out that they have discussed this numerous times now

If you didn't fail to give what the People wanted that day then there wouldn't be a reason for folks to act the way they did.. meaning if you fail then its on you not them... they aren't the one working on the project you and your team is... if you fail, is part of your responsability as a team manager to take the heat that comes with the fail.... if you can't handle that... then maybe you shouldn't be a team manager... and its not Immature, people react to things that they where told was gonna be there but never happened... you can't anticipate moments at random.... you're not a Robot.

Not saying it has to be perfect but when a game company sets a release date for a sertain and then hold it back they say why it was held back Before the HEAT.... and EVEN as they say it they still get the Heat because everyone was excited for that day.. but at that moment everyone knows its coming around the block next release date..So don't be so uptight with your judgement... its your fault and your team's fault for giving the people what they wanted when they wanted it.

It is quite immature to throw a fit over a free modification on the internet. Just be patient, and the modification will be released when it's done and ready. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback regarding our policy on release dates! However, it has now run it's course, and it's time to get back on topic.

Any further comments asking for a release date, or discussing our policy of not providing dates, will be removed from this topic as it has derailed discussion. You are more than welcome to provide your continued feedback to the suggestions forum, where it can be properly addressed! Thank you.

Thanks for the update. This may have been covered but have you been able to crack getting ambient AI involved in calls?

@Sam

It's always nice to get updates on the progress of LSPDFR as it's one of the best ways to roleplay as a police officer in any GTA game (same for LCPDFR obviously). Thanks for keeping us informed; your team does an amazing job and I'm quite envious of your team's ability to code this into a GTA game; something I'd like to be able to do one day as well.

The ability to play GTA the way it's meant to be played with the additions of the advanced AI of the police ala LCPDFR/LSPDFR sounds promising, since I do get tired of getting shot in the back and overall "police brutality" that seems to define the LSPD. Since is something I definitely plan to check out. Are you able to see these improvements just by playing normally or is there more to it?

Lastly, while I enjoy RPing as a uniformed police officer, I also like to explore every branch of a PD at one point or another. In other words, SWAT, Detective Bureau, Task Forces, Highway Patrol, etc. With that in mind, I was wondering if you [Sam] and your team will extend some support for the following:

1) SWAT

2) Detective Bureau

For instance, is it possible to make missions that are more SWAT-specific or include features similar to SWAT 4 if you decide to play as a SWAT model? Same to detectives; would it be possible to make active crime scenes with the ability to pick up evidence, bring it back to the precinct and actively get involved in solving a case? I'm speaking from inexperience here and for all I know, GTA's engine just might not be able to handle it, but I'd like you and your team to just look into the idea.

Also on another note, would you mind adding the LSPD detectives to the roster of selectable characters? They are the Business_Male_Young_01 and Business_Male_Young_02 (the young business male models).

Once again, thanks for everything, Sam and team. I look forward to the updated LSPDFR release when it finally comes out. Keep up the good work, guys! :)

You make it sound like we've had people waiting for years on end.  This couldn't be further from the truth.   GTA V was released in April 2015, with the first version of LSPDFR being released less than two months later.  Not only that, but we followed up with a second major update less than a month after 0.1, despite the challenges we faced from the aggressive updating of the game, including the one update which attempted to stop modding altogether.  We first announced 0.3 towards the end of September and that's not even three months ago.  Maybe we made a mistake in announcing it this early, maybe we should've held off and announced it towards the end of this month instead?  That probably would've been the smart thing to do, it'd be the sort of thing that a proper publisher like EA or Activision would do.  The key thing though is that we are not a proper games publisher.  We're not a company, and I like to make an effort to actually listen to what the people who enjoy our work say.  The one clear message that we heard over and over again was that regular updates would nice.  People wanted to know what was happening as it happened, not two months after.  By announcing 0.3, and by posting regular updates on it, we have given what we were asked to give.

Can I now ask that in return, people can refrain from posting such poorly thought out comments on how we've failed them?  I'd much rather spend the very, very limited amount of free time that I have on developing this project that I love just as much as anybody else here.

Let me just reiterate, we're not a games company.  We're a group of people who purely by chance came together to develop what you now know as LCPDFR and LSPDFR.  If there's anything in the world I could wish for, it'd be that we were indeed a games company and that we did have the ability to dedicate massive resources and time into making the best game this genre has ever seen.  There's absolutely nothing that I'd love more than to be able to develop LSPDFR every day and get paid a full-time salary for it, nothing.

When we failed to meet that release date, despite the fact that the modification is free, despite the fact that none of us had any obligations to anybody, and despite the fact that we had given our best effort, I very publicly apologised.  Not only was this disappointing to everyone here, it was also something that really affected me - there's nothing worse than letting down thousands of people like that.  I want to make sure that we don't let anyone down like this again, and therefore we've not given a release date since.  There's also a whole number of practical reasons for this - for example the fact that mod-breaking updates can happen to the game at any point.

Yup.
