  1. Hello everyone. I need help trying to diagnose why I cannot build these older scripts. The scripts in question are: -Callouts+ by LukeD1994 -Noose Mod (uploaded by Naruto on GitHub) I am no "spring chicken". I have a bit of sense of what I'm doing in Visual Studio. My main issues are errors I'm receiving when trying to build the entire project. I will attach pictures so you'll be able to see the errors. I have added proper references (at least visually) but I am still getting errors that make no sense. Examples: -The type of namespace name [NAMESPACE_NAME] could not be found (are you missing a using directive or assembly reference?) -The name "ECalloutProbability" does not exist in the current context -mismatch errors between architectures of ScriptHookDotNet, AdvancedHook, etc --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other examples you can see in the screenshots. The errors are more or less similar to what I'm experiencing with Callouts+. What I have tried: -Adding references (doesn't seem to help; does take previous warnings that I was missing references) -Cleaning and Rebuilding Solution -Changing CPU architecture type for builds Any help appreciated. It will also help me with trying to build API callout examples as I'm getting the same errors you see above. IDK what I could be missing though... LEGEND: -Green = Callouts+ Errors -Orange = Noose Mod Errors
  2. Hello. You need to first downgrade your game to patch 1.0.7.0 in order to play LCPDFR in MP. Next, you'll need to install Games For Windows Live, and lastly you'll need a key. Send me a PM and I and my friend can help you on Discord.
  3. I'll make this short. I've read there are some tutorials on how to add the NOOSE and FIB peds to their correct vehicles so that they patrol in their proper cars, but is there a way to add NOOSE, TRAFFIC, and FIB peds so that they can walk around as normal civs do? I'm guessing you have to modify the popcycle.dat file similar to how it's suggested to do with the vehicles, but seeing as I can't find any tuts on how to add the TRAFFIC ped model to "the streets", it makes me wonder if it is even possible.
  4. Hello all. Long time lurker on this forum. This game, GTA: IV is now over 8 years old, so what I'd really like to see as a mod suggestion/request, is a recreation of this particularly ]lost] version of vdH PoliceHelper or a replica of some sort. I understand that is was an unreleased version and supposedly private, but does that even hold validity anymore? Most modders have gone onto GTA: V by now, so I don't see the harm in making it public. If you disagree, please indicate why? I and most likely lots of other players would really like to be able to use this as some of us want to be able to experience ALL facets of the NYPD, including acting out and coordinating search warrants, of which, the Fugitive Task Force and other branches of (what I assume to be) ACU and ESU combined engage in. Please take my suggestion into consideration, thank you. https://youtu.be/Gg4K6O0Vi3Y?t=43
  5. I found this to be cute, hilarious and a good pairing with the above poster's comment. He's right though; Bad Boys was invented by the group Inner Circle and not Bob Marley.
  6. As someone who has tried both Skin Control and Simple Trainer by sjaak327, I think you give Skin Control too much credit. You should be able to save a character the same way as Skin Control with Simple Trainer's options. Simple Trainer, if you are not aware, is the same as the trainer used in GTA: IV that most people used. While it is not my intention to try to bring down Skin Control or speak less of the mod (because it is very good and serves its purpose well), I am just informing others who might be hesitant to install or use Skin Control and am instead providing an alternative method that will result in the same effect. AKA, Simple Trainer is able to do the same thing that Skin Control can do if you are reluctant to use it or prefer not to.
  7. Simple Trainer by sjaak(some number) has an option under VEHICLE OPTIONS that allows you to save your car. It will just place a blip over it.
  8. No. You shouldn't. It can mess up LSPDFR. My friend found this out the hard way. Cops carry them in real life. It wouldn't hurt to make LSPDFR more believable. And if you are afraid of "breaking immersion" by using a trainer option, "saving your car" = activating the anti-theft mechanism ;)
  9. Are you using a reshader?
  10. @Sam It's always nice to get updates on the progress of LSPDFR as it's one of the best ways to roleplay as a police officer in any GTA game (same for LCPDFR obviously). Thanks for keeping us informed; your team does an amazing job and I'm quite envious of your team's ability to code this into a GTA game; something I'd like to be able to do one day as well. The ability to play GTA the way it's meant to be played with the additions of the advanced AI of the police ala LCPDFR/LSPDFR sounds promising, since I do get tired of getting shot in the back and overall "police brutality" that seems to define the LSPD. Since is something I definitely plan to check out. Are you able to see these improvements just by playing normally or is there more to it? Lastly, while I enjoy RPing as a uniformed police officer, I also like to explore every branch of a PD at one point or another. In other words, SWAT, Detective Bureau, Task Forces, Highway Patrol, etc. With that in mind, I was wondering if you [Sam] and your team will extend some support for the following: 1) SWAT 2) Detective Bureau For instance, is it possible to make missions that are more SWAT-specific or include features similar to SWAT 4 if you decide to play as a SWAT model? Same to detectives; would it be possible to make active crime scenes with the ability to pick up evidence, bring it back to the precinct and actively get involved in solving a case? I'm speaking from inexperience here and for all I know, GTA's engine just might not be able to handle it, but I'd like you and your team to just look into the idea. Also on another note, would you mind adding the LSPD detectives to the roster of selectable characters? They are the Business_Male_Young_01 and Business_Male_Young_02 (the young business male models). Once again, thanks for everything, Sam and team. I look forward to the updated LSPDFR release when it finally comes out. Keep up the good work, guys! :)
  11. Well, if you kept reading, it sounds better ;)
  12. I do not mean any disrespect by this, Sam, but from the images provided, I don't see much. Usually "a picture is worth a thousand words", but this time, I don't see much. Therefore, I'll just wait for the final product. Knowing you and your team are behind the improvements, though, assure me that LSPDFR 0.3 will be great regardless. Now, what I would like to get out of this "addition" to the pursuit system is two things: 1) A sense of fear from the suspects 2) A sense of desperation from the suspects This is a "police-sim mod" correct? So, if the pursuit system is to really be believable, not only does it need cops that can drive less reckless and cops that have much less "itchy" trigger fingers, but I should also feel the sense of desperation and fear coming from the fleeing suspects. They've broken the law and now they will do anything in order to escape and evade us: " I am the police, and I'm here to arrest you. You've broken the law. I did not write the law. I may even disagree with the law but I will enforce it. No matter how you plead, cajole, beg or attempt to stir my sympathies, nothing you do will stop me from placing you in a steel cage with gray bars. If you run away I will chase you. If you fight me I will fight back. If you shoot at me I will shoot back. By law I am unable to walk away. I am a consequence. I am the unpaid bill. I am fate with a badge and a gun. Behind my badge is a heart like yours. I bleed, I think, I love, and yes I *can* be killed. And although I am but one man, I have thousands of brothers and sisters who are the same as me. They will lay down their lives for me, and I them. We stand watch together. The thin-blue-line, protecting the prey from the predators, the good from the bad. We are the police." - (Brian Taylor, End of Watch, IMDB)
  13. I don't know if there is a mod available for stopping AI traffic from just blocking the roads. That might just be a thing with the AI's coding as they actually do not "see you" in front of them or they think you are an object that must be driven around. I'll provide you with two script mods though, that might help: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=11213 http://gtaforums.com/topic/572411-overtakingfix/ This will stop the dreaded overtaking feature of AI cars when doing important LCPDFR-type business, most importantly Traffic Stops. To answer your next question, you'd have to find a pager sound file and convert it to a format that GTA: Iv uses using GTA-IV:aud. http://www.gta4-mods.com/tools/gta-ivaud-v115-f3996
  14. That was a surprising answer! I expected you to say GTA: Iv but EFLC is "more stable"? Wow; surprising answer. Thanks for answering my question.
  15. Hoping this is in the right place to ask: Which is better for LCPDFR? By this, I mean which is more stable and allows for more customization options? I plan on reinstalling LCPDFR but I'd like to know which one would be better for it as well as which one has more modding ability.
  16. Like you, I'm also curious what the devs have up their sleeves for this. I already talked about this in another post and Sam said due to GTA: V's engine, it would get very complicated. I'm hoping for some form of interrogation even if it's very simple. I don't expect anything on the scale of LA Noire, Sam ;)
  17. Were you guys inspired a bit by Battlefield: Hardline per chance? ;) Either way; can't wait for the improved arresting.
  18. This is what I was trying to refer to in my previous example. Good job.
  19. One of your images provided elludes to some sort of interrogation feature (at least that's what I've noticed by it). If there isn't some sort of interrogation feature yet, I'd kindly ask you to look into implementing that in the next version as it's something I STILL have not seen in ANY mod released for LCPDFR/LSPDFR as of yet. Doesn't have to be robust either; I'd just like to see the ability to interrogate suspects introduced at some point in LSPDFR. Please make it happen, Sam, or at least look into it. Other than that, you've continued to show why LSPDFR is one of the BEST mods out there and how it is possible to play GTA in other ways than just as a criminal. Don't let R* bog down your progress either. This is just a wild theory but what if you could make an accessible elevator and then have the elevator "point" to the unburnt interior each time? Rather than having "actual" multiple floors, you could simulate "virtual multiple floors" by reintroducing/redirecting to the hash/value of the unburnt floor via the elevator script. Again, I'm fresh on the modding scene so I'm not entirely sure of the process but from a programming perspective, try to make a working elevator within the building; then just have the elevator point to the unburnt interior every time a player uses it. It will simulate the illusion of multiple floors but it will only use one interior. Might be better, preformance wise, but yet again, this is only a theory from someone who isn't well-versed on GTA: V modding yet.
  20. And like with most GTA V vehicle modding, you need Zmodeler3, right?
  21. Thanks for the helpful info. I'll wait to see if anyone else can give me more information. I'll add to this topic with one more question then: How do you make a template for the vehicle you wish to edit?
  22. Well, I tried. You're welcome. If the base model prison guard also has the same problem, then it might happen to any variant.
  23. Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knows some great tips/tricks for modifying the peds.ide file or more specifically, what exactly are the limits of what can be done by editing it? My main interest is trying to get the "TrafficCop" police model to spawn as a pedestrian in the game world since I'm trying to make an NYC directory for LCPDFR. Is there also some way to have the TrafficCop model spawn into the game world WITHOUT a weapon? Inaddition, is it possible to modify the TrafficCop model's AI behavior to act like a civ and be afraid/run away from people shooting guns? (TrafficCop = Auxiliary/Public Safety officer; they are unsworn and do not carry a firearm)
