  • I love how everyone is so mad that Rockstar is releasing free content. If it was any other company, you would need a season pass or premium or whatever to get this content. I know those of you that do

  • It's not that bad, relax people. We're working on it.

  • Oh no, like every other massive corporation out there you mean?

Now, this is just showing my ignorance but when Sam said he "recommends that you make a backup of your game files and avoid updating to the latest version" does he just mean to backup the GTA V directory?  Also, how do you prevent Steam from updating?

I only want to say: We're such a massive community.  Nobody will stop us to mod GTA V! Not even R*:ninja:. Maybe it will take a little bit longer. But Sam...... will break the wall. Come on. We're so many dudes and gurls all over the world with the same interest and hobby. Lean back and relax. LSPDFR will be released. Soon!

Make a copy of the entire directory to be safe. If you intend on modding, you should anyways. If you want Steam to not autoupdate, there will be an option in the game properties that you can switch off (you cannot launch a game waiting for an update without updating first, though).

Why don't they do server keys, where the servers have a choice to say if they want to allow mods, no mods, or some mods using the server keys. Supporting the mods, making them have to be put in a certain place in a file and the keys somewhere else let them, or the people running the servers. Thus at least adding mod support for server owners, if they ever release private servers and adding a way to control the mods used so no one gets banned for a fov mod.

GTA Online is a walled garden that R* wants full control over, especially when it comes to hawking shortcuts to in-game content.

So if I backed up the directory, and then started the game (and it inevitably updates), will putting the backed up directory back in there constitute putting it back to it's pre-update state?

this update caused my game to have lag spikes which I did not have before I never cared for these dlc since they add nothing to the game

Same - having lag spikes which I also never experienced before.

Seriously? I had those lags in the very first version. After it has been updated the first time it was ok. So are those lags back?

We will have more news to share about LSPDFR very shortly

Heh, the funny thing is, when the 'final countdown' was announced, I thought it would be very shortly too :whistling:

Yeah yeah fanboys... save your fingers, I know it will be ready when it's ready......

Weekend is coming....soo much freetime.....no LSPDFR......depression arising . I guess it ends in motorcyling and excessive beer consumption

Dude! Not at the same time PLEASE!

My bike is in the garage. Needs an MOT before I can take it out to play :verymad:

Always afterwards!

That sucks. I hope my tires survive this weekend :-D. New front and rear tire already ordered but won't arrive until next thursday :pinch:

I've been passing my time by playing GTA Online with a friend in a private, invite only session. We usually always have a lot of fun, but since this update we encountered numerous lag spikes and very very strange bugs/glitches. It's been really hit or miss lately with GTA Online. It was fun at first, but now it seems to be degrading in terms of playability. I say this because it's as if the update broke something, because thankfully we're so low level that we aren't bored of missions and the like yet and are no where near full rank.

When I'm not playing GTA Online I find myself flying in Flight Simulator X using the Captain SIm 737-200 Freighter and the FsCaptain add on allowing me to track and rank up in a career mode simulation. Was kind of shocked when one of my 28,000 lbs of freight contained 3 caskets. Fun fact, apparently the deceased are shipped by air to distant burial sites all of the time. Who knew?

Oh no. My patch senses are tingling.

If a lot of people are getting these lag spikes, guess what could come... a patch. A patch could REALLY do some damage to mods, and might take much longer to get everything fixed. It's also probably going to be horrible timing for LSPDFR if a patch is released. Let's hope this is not the case

This was a patch. I'm not sure why you make a distinction between patches and updates; an update is just a patch that adds significant new content.

It doesn't matter what is added in the update. If there's a problem in it that's significant enough (Especially if the problem hurts Online) then rockstar will fix it. That puts mods at risk again, which is probably bad timing for LSPDFR

Hi All,

Before i ask my question, i want to make it crystal clear that i know nothing about either modding or programming (as will be apparent by my question)

Let's imagine (daydream if you will) that LSPDFR is up and running beautifully. The skies are blue, the birds are singing & criminals are biting the dust everywhere.

The next day R* decide to patch a minor (or major) error in the online game.

How likely is it, that this patch will break the best mod in gaming ever (imho) ... and how long "could" it be before we're able to play again ?

I realise that i won't (can't) get a definite timescale, as it depends on how badly the code gets broken (or whatever you guys with brains call it).

Many Thanks

Fuxake

Hi All,

As evidented, we're quite capable of getting the RageHook back into working order. If I recall correctly, it took Sam and LMS 4 hours to fix the RageHook for the latest patch.
