Rockstar Games have just released the "Ill-Gotten Gains" content update for GTA Online, featuring a bunch of new multiplayer content like gold plated private jets.  Like previous content updates, this has once again prevented script modifications from functioning.  According to Alexander Blade, author of the original C++ Script Hook for GTA V, new protections against modding have also been added to the game.

If you want to continue using script modifications in GTA V, I highly recommend that you make a backup of your game files and avoid updating to the latest version.  Obviously this might impact upon our plans for LSPDFR.  If so, we'll let everyone know in due course. 

According to GooDNTS, developer of OpenIV, file-based mods still work.

It sucks that LSPD:FR has yet again another roadblock for releasing. But I personally do think that the messing up of the singleplayer scripts by R* are unintentional. Keep in mind, I do also think that they should let use mods to an extent in online, but its whatever. I'm happy with Singleplayer modding.

So it is as bad as i thought.

Yea sureee not against Sp modding Rockstar, how about screw yourself allow mods to work on SP damit oh well looks like going have to wait until the scripthook updates hopefully its possible the the protection on the files isnt worrying.

GOD DANG IT! FINALLY when I get my gaming laptop so I can start gaming and modding on GTA V PC this happens....of course it does....god dang it Rockstar you had ONE JOB not to mess modding up for single player. Dang. Now i'm bummed out. :/

Telling Steam to update only when I'm asleep has saved my game from yet another R* "we love modders" patch.

​Yes. Only ASI Loader is requested (obviously).

OpenIV.ASI and ASI Loader are version independent.

Rockstar : "Yea ... about that... sorry guys... we clicked rehash again prior to updating... I mean... it wasn't ... against modders... we didn't mean to..." (not a real quote... but don't forget their first ones!)

I hate the damn marketers on this one honestly.  If Shark Cards wasn't a thing - it wouldn't be such a huge issue, its a "old" game, even though new on PC - this thing would be already flaming out if it wasn't for the modders.  How long do they think they can force feed 14 year olds gold plated Jets online before they move onto another major title?  Honestly because, thats what we need to happen.  I haven't been online in a long time with GTA V, can't bring myself to grind.

LSPDFR and other mods like Simple Trainer are the only reasons I purchase GTAV a second time, this one on PC. I have played it less than a handful of times since I installed the game because I played thru most of it on the 360 and there have not been very many mods that I am into. I am ever hopeful for a SP mod and goddess willing a MP version of LSPDFR but that may never happen.

 

Sam and team, please keep up the great work. Your LCPDFR Mod was the closest thing I had to putting a vest and a gun belt on, since I left the Law Enforcement community some 10+ years ago. I sincerely look forward to the progress of LSPDFR and cannot wait to see what we have in store for us when that day arrives.

I hope this doesnt slow down development too much :( Also is there a way to revert to the previous version? I have a backup, which files do i need to replace with the old ones?

I hope once LSPDFR releases, its with a older version, and everyone just rocks that and says forget the online experience.  I know I didn't invest in GTA V for online.  To add, I hope LSPDFR does SOOOOOOOOOO WELLLLLLLL that Rockstar sees a statistical change in current online users that go hand in hand with LSPDFR release.  I've got several old copies of GTA V now on a external...  :X

The fact that every update they've put out has tried to circumvent single-player modding determined that was a lie.
