A mother in Georgia called the police to do a stimulation arrest on her son, due to his disrespectful behavior towards his mom, teachers and also behaving poorly at school, the mother said she did this in an effort to get her son to behave more properly. I don't know what happened after this, but what do you guys think?

Honestly, I would just kill my son and buy a new one. Not worth all the effort.

Better to not have kids in the first place instead get a Dog or a Cat.

While I do understand your point, I still fail to see any severe problem with dispatching an officer or two to simulate an arrest. If the parent requests it, and the officers agree to it, then why not

Also, using LE to discipline(see: scare) a developing child is a good way to set that kid up to mistrust LE for a long time to come.

Police Officers should instill trust and respect, not fear. It's a sad trend that needs to change, most people are worried when they see a police officers, they don't feel safe

Well actually back in USSR stories about how an officer visited a home and talked with a misbehaving kid to straighten him up were really popular. Even I was threatened that if I won't stop being bad they'll come after me. We still have officers whose duty is to be involved with community, help solve troubles, and help with raising a kid too. So in some cases law enforcement should be used to help parents. Nothing's like a good man-to-man talk with an officer and a kid. It actually leaves an impression.

Are law enforcement agencies even allowed to do this in the first place?

As far as in the United States, yes. I've seen it on COPS several times, and it can essentially divert a family tragedy. If calling the police on your children can prevent your children from doing something drastic, then by all means I don't see why law enforcement wouldn't, help.

No Police agency can replace good parenting, But on the other hand some kids are just disruptive and think they own the world and can do what they want. If a cop can make a difference in a kids life, I'm all for it. It certainly did for me.

Blessed Are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God - Matthew 5:9

Simulating arrests are not only prohibited here in Australia, they also seem a huge waste of police resources. I can understand the mother wanting police intervention to help straighten him out, but a simulated arrest is not the way to go about it.

While I do understand your point, I still fail to see any severe problem with dispatching an officer or two to simulate an arrest. If the parent requests it, and the officers agree to it, then why not? Simulating a police detainment and arrest can show an insubordinate child what could happen if they continue their bad behavior. It's been shown on COPS several times, and it's always worked. We've witnessed small families become reunited over a police intervention and simulation. In the United States, police aren't limited to responding when a crime is committed. Police can respond to anything, really. Their job is to keep the peace, not specifically to arrest law breakers. Arresting law breakers is a part of keeping the peace, and if simulating an arrest helps keep the peace, then Godspeed to it and I'm sure the officers won't have any issue doing it.
