R* Massive temporary bans

Featured Replies

So its true, R* started banning players for online mods, most of the ban reports are due to money hacks, other reported that they got a mail stating they should steer clear of FOV mods.

In case you do got a ban, on SP when exiting the house in each character, there's a 5 seconds message above the minimap which tells you when the ban is lifted:

Rockstar Classified ban 5/16/2015

so this is a warning thread, stay away from money hacks or any other online mod, the eye is watchful :ninja:

At least this means no more trainer kiddies in online. Not too sure how I feel about FOV mods, though; I was using one for a short while leading up to the bans (thankfully, my account wasn't hit with one)

R* really needs to crack down on bans. 2-3 week bans for level/money hacking? Come on...  Should be a permanent ban all the way if they abuse players or their stats.

Really theres no need to do that. Because if they come back and do it again, guess what, Enjoy the 2 week ban. Or worse, after a set amount of punishments i'm pretty certain it would go to a perma. Some people just use cheat engine to get in some extra money which isn't a big deal, thats not hurting anyone and unless you work at R* nobody should care about what YOU do, unless you're going around bragging how many cars and guns you have, saying you earned it legit.

As for the people ruining the game by putting on godmode and explosive bullets, and all that crazy shit maybe it should be a bit more severe. They're TRYING to hurt other people by ruining the online experience. Also level hacking is hard to detect if you do it right.

And if they get it wrong? Or if the person was just screwing around and isn't a hardcore cheater? Rockstar's goal is to prevent cheating, and if they can do that without permabans they will. They can always stiffen penalties if need be.

R*'s goal isn't to prevent cheating as much as it is to protect their bottom line.  People can pay real money for in game money.  If GTA IV had the same function, we all would've been banned for using the trainer and LCPDFR online, no question in my mind.

I personally used the trainer online for my police clan which wasn't causing any harm, now we can't do that and we're stuck with what we have in the content creator, which isn't much of anything at all.

If there's irrefutable evidence they are abusing players with no intent to stop (also the level 999 guys that got it in 10 minutes) in my opinion that would be grounds for a permaban.  But I'm not R* and business is business.

And if the players keep doing it after tempbans expire, R* can permaban them then.
