"Today, pornography in the UK has been quietly censored, with a long list of acts now banned from film. As an erotic film maker, I'm saddened by what I hear, not only because my fellow producers will suffer as businesses, but because what is most apparent is the enforced restriction on what appears to be acts from which women derive pleasure."

So I just want to know, who here lives in the UK and do you have any opoioins on this?

Edit: guys I'am NOT an erotic film maker that was a quote from the news articles, I worded my topic badly again, this topic has been railroaded. There is everyone clear now? :/

The laws are really useless aswell. They don't stop the average person from watching these types of erotic films as long as they're not made in the country so why even bother to block the UK porn industries ability to make them? These laws were written by 70 year old men at Westminister who probably can't even get it up anymore anyway.

Honestly don't know why so many people are offended by porn. Sex is natural, we all love it (well, unless you have a reason not too) it's a human thing to do and is considered physically and mentally healthy. Watching porn doesn't hurt anyone, girls/men sign themselves up for it and often they get a good hefty pay. Of course there is porn I even disagree with like reenactment of rape and such but, IF and only IF the girl/man is fine with the scene, they like it or whatever, then really, it's not that bad.

As long as what's in the video is legal (apparently female ejaculation isn't........................ but I'm talking about bestiality, pain and all that good stuff) then why shouldn't people be able to produce/watch it? If you get offended by it, just don't watch it and bugger off? Complaining is just going to knock things out of kilter and cause more problems then solve them.

Because real sex is nothing like porn. Porn objectifies women and gives teenagers a slanted view on what real love and affection is. It portrays women as something to be used.

Porn is entertainment. Sex is romance and bonding. They are nothing alike.

Sex is sex. There's no 'real' sex nor is there 'fake' sex. The put it bluntly, sex is when the penis enters the vagina., end of.

'Porn objectifies women and gives teenagers a slanted view on what real love and affection is'. You've most likely read this and believe it, have you spoken to teenagers about it? I for one still am, and I've been watching porn for years. I can happily say that I've been in a good, healthy and love fueled relationship for 2 years, 4 months and I can also say, porn hasn't swayed my approach or vision of women at all. The same with many of my peers. In good, love filled relationships. And you know what? If anything, I'd say it's helped me. You must understand that teenagers, girls and guys alike want to experiment when they are teenagers, find out what they like, explore everything that's new! A teenager is filled with hormones, all wanting to jump out left, right and center. Everything is new and amazing, and just like the generations before us, when the novelty of sex lowers, we'll settle down, become less sex hungry and marry, love and live our lives more calmly and less horny. We'll probably still watch porn though.

Now let's not get the thought in our heads that, 'Porn's producing a bunch of horny teenage boys using girls for sex!' because frankly it's not true. Of course you're going to get people like this, but blaming it on porn I don't believe is the answer. Before porn was even created, years upon years ago, women were objectified much more so then now. Porn is just the easy answer for an awkward and hard question, but I strongly disagree it's the right one. We, as men, are naturally attracted to women and often go about it in a strong way, it's nature, men will be men. Women will also be women too, many girls/women watch porn too... does that mean that they are objectifying men? You're hinting that women hate sex, they think it's bad, that having sex with a women is abuse. Fact is, like men, women LOVE sex too, with or without love, it's sex and that's what many people love.

Perhaps yours and many other people's views on sex is too pure and perfect.

If that is what you believe 'sex' is, then you clearly aren't mature enough to understand the real values of it. Of course the oxford dictionary may say it's just "when penis enters vagina" but there's a whole lot more to it than that which can be found naturally when teenagers aren't exposed to the false idea of what sex is supposed to be.

Quick question for you, did you lose your virginity before or after you first watched porn?

I understand that, and I agree, however why is it that they have to be shown a commercialized view of sex before they've even had it? Why can't they discover what they like for themselves with their partner and learn to respect and love their partner?

I don't have a problem with older men watching sex, that is once they've had a chance to discover sex naturally and respectfully with their partner. What they expect from sex is already defined and they won't have their perception of sex swayed or altered since they have already discovered it.

However, certain types of porn, especially the more extreme ones, result in teenagers (both males and females alike) having an incorrect perception of what sex is like. Women believe they are expected to do certain things and give men certain things, and men believe they are entitled to it.

I'm going to give you this link, it's a doctor of psychology talking about the effect of pornography upon children. There are plenty more studies, documentaries and videos that I can send you if you wish to view more:

Of course, I'm not claiming to understand completely the effect of pornography on young people's minds, however it's very clear that it does indeed have an effect.

At no point did I say that women were objectifying men when they watch porn, however they do also get an unrealistic view of sex and relationships when they watch porn.

Also, I did not at any point hint at women not enjoying sex. And you don't need to tell me that they do enjoy it because I am aware that they do. Please do tell me of how I hinted that having sex with a woman is abuse. Quite frankly your claims are becoming quite ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as how Chester is a self proclaimed "erotic film maker".

They might not have a partner for a loooong time...

Well, a recent report showed that female ejaculation is actually urine. So it might be because of that.

I'll try to find it back on Google, I've read the experiments made about this in a french scientific magazine while I was waiting at the doc.

EDIT: There, found it back. It's from the French Federation of Sexology and Sexual Health. The article is in french though, but I'll take the parts I was talking about and translate them as good as I can. Just need a bit of time.

Your right Porn is entertainment and that is its sole purpose its not to turn every adolescent male into a rapist.(Although lifetime may disagree) Just like any other form of entertainment that depicts violence and sexual acts people will cry out that is eroding the moral fabric of our society blah blah blah. A perfect example is the GTA series it has long be criticized for its depiction of sex and violence but does this mean that every person who plays the game will turn into a career criminal that has sex with prostitutes???

Ive been playing the GTA series since i was 10 years old and i can assure you  that ive never carjacked anyone or had sex with a prostitute. Now some people will say that this type of entertainment influences the susceptible minds of teenagers to commit these acts in real life but i don't believe that. The fact of the matter is these forms of entertainment are not intended for teenagers they are for adults so if your teenager is watching rape fantasy porn than that is on you not the porn industry. The same goes for violent video games if you dont want your 10 year old carjacking people and killing cops in video games than do your damn job and be a parent!

Your argument really holds no water here and sounds more like a plot on Law and Order SVU which yet again is entertainment.

You seem to be missing the point. I did not at any point say that porn turns men into rapists and I didn't even mention GTA.

Your comparison with GTA is completely invalid. For it to be a comparison, people would have to be looking at GTA as an example of how to behave in real life, which everyone knows it is not. Also, the acts committed within GTA are very extreme and involve murder.

Teenagers are curious. They look at porn as a way to discover what sex is like. They do not turn on the playstation and play GTA looking to understand how the real world is.

However, no one tells teenagers that porn is unrealistic, as so they believe that it is actually how they should behave.
