Obama and Russia

Featured Replies

Obama, in an interview with The Economist, downplayed Russia’s role in the world, dismissing Putin as an international trouble-maker who leads a country short on opportunity.

Power, money, greed and stupidity.

If someone doesn't want power, they want money, and if they don't want either, they tend to be stupid and reckless.

It's no secret Obama and his allies aren't keen on Putin. Putin's ex KGB, here's a violent man with a lot of power, those two together is chaos.

This nation to nation kind of conflict isn't going to end for a long time to go, and chances are, when it does end, there is going to be a big boom. Politically or physically.

Russia could destroy America on ground this country needs to stop sticking its nose where it doesn't belong.

I beg to differ. I doubt that Russia would so easily demolish the United States in a war. Keeping in mind it wouldn't just be America and Russia. I'm for certain allies would become involved and it would turn into a world war. While the United States has the second best technology, the third largest population, a standing army of 1,524,225 , and the second largest amount of nuclear weapons, All of those except the nuclear weapons being higher than Russia. Arrogance and ignorance is the one thing that'll tear this planet to shreds. The people thinking that they can take on the world, and win.

You want sources, Google it. I'm sure you can find them on your own.

Wait up, who's got the first?

According to what I've been researching, Japan has the best technology. A lot of people think that China has the best technology, while their military equipment is severely outdated. I believe that this is changing though.

Oh, Japan... They still aren't allowed to possess armed forces, as I remember ^^ China has mainly modernized Soviet units, and, judging by their war history, they suck in combat.

That's offtopic though. I strongly believe that world criticism will influence putin and make him change his policy. Either this or I'll take part in Green card lottery. Hope I'll find a place for an investigator abroad.

It's getting bad, people don't want the U.S sticking their nose into things & people hate the U.S, yet Obama does nothing & people go batshit crazy because he does nothing, he's not a War president.

Since I really can't say anything bad regarding POTUS's, I'll just say I REALLY REALLY love our military presidents. They had balls, but also had logic and common sense.

But it's no secret. USA vs Russia only stopped on paper at the end of the Cold War. It'll always been Red vs Blue, Freedom vs Tyranny. Although Russia could straight up stomp us through manpower. Look at WW2. I pray we never go to war with them...

Russia does *not* have a large population - it has only half the population of the US, with a dip at the teenage years (which is where people are entering an age where they could reasonably serve in the military). You may be confusing Russia with the substantially larger Soviet Union.

its no secret obamas a war criminal who has weaked our military drastically and purging top commanders making it easy for any country that wanted to attack us do so without repercussions

China has even more manpover than Russia, plus we are divided with ocean. I would be afraid of rockets more than infantry...

Anyway, right now Russia should be worried about China, which literally occupied some areas of Siberia by now. If there gonna be a war, it will happen with Russia and China first.

I think it's a common belief in the US that Russia and China are allied (maybe dating from the Cold War). As far as I know, this is very inaccurate -- they basically haven't liked each other since like 1960, but since neither one is a US ally (and both were communist states in the Cold War), people lump them together.

Yeah, Australia for one! I think we've followed you into almost every war since this country became a country, just before WW1.

If a war kicks off between the US and Russia i am totally migrating to Antarctica.

I'm almost for certain that the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, and Japan would be definite allies.

Russia invaded another fucking country for no reason, and gave rebels the missiles that killed 298 people (including 27 Australians). I'd say everyone has the right to be asking some serious question about what the fuck they think they're doing.

I'm not sure about the Japanese, as they only have a small defense force. They'd have to be supplied with all the weapons and resources before they could play a major role if a war were to break out.

The rest however, more than likely. Australia has always followed America after the end of World War II, so I don't see why it would change in the future.
