That's because the Plymouth Horizon or Dodge Omni was in fact British. In Europe it was known as the Talbot Horizon, widely used at least in Spain in law enforcement but I am sure that I already posted pictures of them various pages back. As a small reminder, please, do not to link pictures directly from policecarwebsite as they normally will show up broken.

More stuff from Philadelphia, the 1985 MOVE shootout and bombing.

On May 13th 1985, the Philadelphia Police attempted to arrest the members of a radical black liberation group called MOVE, which led to a 12 hour armed stand off that ended up when a Pennsylvannia State Police helicopter dropped a couple bombs over the house where the group was entrenched, causing the death of 11 people between members of the MOVE and childs, as well as the burning of 60 adjacent buildings. MOVE had previously had another armed clash with the Philadelphia Police Department in 1978, where a police officer was killed.

All the footage below presumably correspond to the 1985 incident but there might be some stuff from the 1978 one.

LtFlash, that video practically brought a tear to my eye.  That was an amazing catch for sure, and kudos to that cameraman in the right place at the right time!

The Signal Stat 374 Beacon on its higher base [with the red/amber look of the 1960s as opposed to the red/white of the 1970s] is really good looking in action, that's for sure.
