I'll be moving to PA in about 2 years for med school- how in the world does their PD system work?  Is it by town, county, state (that's how MA is minus county police)?  Or is it different- I never saw any cops when I drove through it on Memorial Day Weekend (I saw 60000 in MA and NY)

well in york county, the county is split up into small regions. Each regional pd covers a small area. My region covers 4 towns and has less than 15 full time officers. They do alot of co-department work with nearby departments like using co-department facilities and shit. Everyone in each town is friendly. The cops take pride in what they do. They are very active on social media since they need us to be the detectives since they only have 20 something fulltime/parttime officers. each county has one sheriffs office. I only see PA state police on highways so. Its pretty awsome in PA, cant wait to get up there.

Why does PD provide EMS?

Nice pics, I'm from Jersey too. And probably because they work at high priority events, like the mass-casualty and the ATV/Polaris. It's strange, the do the same in some countys in Florida, they have Engines and brush trucks and ambulances.

Here's Station 95 in Taylor, PA, with Ladder 95, Brush 95, Squad 95. The fire you see in a few pictures is from Sandone Tire, the estimate of the tires that burned there was 40,000, plus the warehouse.
