It can just work with no special configuration. However, if you go into the vehicle config file, you can set the Slicktop option to true, which changes lighting reflections to be more focused and smaller (better simulating real slicktop lights).

ok just turned it to "on" and tried it with 2 different slick top SUV's I have and didnt work. I cant even bring up any els related things

I'm sorry this new ELS just sucks. I can't slow down my patterns enough (3 is max), some of the old patterns are not present, it's overly complicated and you can't use the siren whenever you want to. Also it seems to have a bug with extra8, since no matter what I changed the secondary lights to (even directional), it just couldn't do anything with extra8. I even have a bug where I change to lstg3 with the traffic advisor off by default, and I can't use the siren. Also changing to a different siren tone doesn't seem to change the lighting pattern.

I think simply adding some new features to the older ELS versions would have been a lot better.

Well I haven't been able to play it yet since I have XP which is a frustration, but that would be cool if he just added the siren feature to ELS V6 as well as the takedowns being a flashing separate option like ELS V7.  I would have just been happy with that.

I did change to a different pattern for yelp, but it didn't work. Also I want the original siren, which other people can hear in MP.

Yeah same thing here, that's the only thing I want more, a pattern that can change on different siren tones and a customizable enviroment lighting.

It would indeed be nice if you could use the normal GTA siren. The ELS siren doesn't make people move when I'm coming in going 120.

I have read 1 or 2 comments about people not being able to find those patterns..  don't know for sure..

 

 

hmm..  maybe try the cruise mode?     That is similiar enough and bonus is that it doesn't rebuild the extras so you can open doors.

Ok I amanged to optimize the LAPD patterns in for EVI's LAPD CVPI. A-07 is in LED mode E-06. C-01 in v7 is in directional mode C-03

You can use the normal gta siren, you have to put it in express mode. When you activate the siren the lights will come on too.

You also have to use the combo key, which is CTRL by default. It may not work with backspace if you have a Trainer, since backspace usually closes the trainer by default, so if it doesn't work try changing the key.
