correct me if i'm wrong buti wasn't asking anyone to give me anything i was asking if they knew where to get them. also i'm just looking for backups i have a legal copy of gta

You're still asking for links of the original files, which is against forum guidelines. This is precisely why you back up files before you edit them.

actually if you read the original post i'm just asking people if they have the original files, so this post is simply a yes or no question therefore not against forum guidelines.

Just saying, but the implication from the title of this thread is that you are actively searching for somewhere to obtain the files in question. It also doesn't make sense for you to poll on this; it is common knowledge to make backups, as well as the fact that everyone originally had these files. Also, you come off in a condescending, arrogant manner in the quoted post above.

Anyone else think it's funny when people contradict themselves?

Here are my thoughts....

You were asking for someone to give you the files you wanted, when you were called out for asking for something against forum guidelines you tried to cover yourself and say its just a "poll". The only reason I think your now asking for "poll" answers is so when someone says yes they have them (which you already know we all do since this is a GTA IV forum) you can PM them, and since they probably don't know the rules they will send you the files. Plus there would be absolutly NO need for a poll like this....This thread is the precise reason you always backup your files before doing anything!! I have multiple copies of my GTA IV folder, one original un-modded copy, one from awhile ago, and a recently updated one. It takes less than 10 minutes to backup the entire folder. Oh and by the way, to answer your "poll", yes I do have the original file

I've got the original files too.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

If you bought your copy via steam its real easy to obtain them without reinstalling the whole game. Just verify the integrity of gamecache. Steam will no check and replace all altered files with the original ones. Just make sure you make a backup of the altered files you want to keep. Hope this helps.

'Do you feel lucky, punk?'

Seriously? Buddy, just own up that you weren't aware of the rule. We all make giant GTA mistakes that require us to find back up files, which always results in a reinstall. The fact that you tried to make it look if you were asking a community based soley off GTA 4 if they had the files to run it seems kind of ridiculous. Just man up and say " Sorry guys, I didn't realize that was against the rules". Never too late to redeem yourself.

oh i never said i was aware of the rules. the thing is thoe is he first post was a yes or no question not a request the intent was there but it wasn't worded that way, so who ever posted the first comment quoting guidelines was in the right but was also assuming that i wanted them and that's what bothered me, and then a bunch of other people had to join in and try to kiss his arsu

@Anchorman - LOL

@bonehead - I wasn't trying to kiss anyone's a**, its clear what you wanted and trying to cover it up with a "poll" is ridiculous.

** I'm motioning for this thread to be closed on the grounds of a pointless "poll" that since this is a GTA IV forum every member will answer yes, arguing, and clear violation of forum rules/policy. Anyone want to second this? All in favor say, I
