Hi everyone! Since it looks like that many of us will be stuck at home for a while (the record numbers at LCPDFR.com suggest not everyone is taking home-office too seriously...), we would like to do our part in fighting isolation and boredom and provide you with a new update. While we are not quite ready to release our next major update yet, we have been busy over the past few days to come up with a few additions and fixes that we hope you will enjoy.
 

Get your revenge on escaped suspects!
One feature that has been requested quite a few times is re-encountering escaped suspects. We had originally planned to release this among a greater rework of callouts but managed to include a first version in 0.4.7 already. Every suspect that was able to escape during a pursuit now has a chance to be encountered again. While the chances are higher around the position the suspect was last seen it could be anywhere on the map. A subtle minimap flash will indicate a nearby suspect. If you get close to the vehicle, a small blip will appear and the suspect will try to flee if you continue to approach. We hope this gives you a bit of realism as well as help you get your revenge on your nemeses. At the same time we believe there are many ways this can be improved in the future, such as changing vehicles, spawning them in different scenarios, encountering suspects in a traffic stop and more. The feature and frequency can be managed via ini settings.

Frisking has also received some improvements. We added many new items that can be found such as car keys or wallets. In addition, the Covid-19 scare did not leave ordinary citizens of Los Santos unaffected and you are more likely to find items such as hand sanitizer or wet wipes on them. These special items can be disabled via the ini.

If you are using LSPDFR for the first time, please re-download the latest build 7383 as the previous version contained an error.

Since we take some extra steps to make it possible to shoot friendly cops, I think it should be possible to undo those changes without break anything else. I will have a look and see if adding an option makes sense.

No changes to the pursuit system in this release. Does that happen in any situation or only when the suspects have better weapons (more gunpower) than the cops? We adjust the combat tactics based on whether the cops are outgunned so they do not run into assault rifle fire when only having a pistol.

I appreciate that you guys are putting so much effort into developing this mod, the mod loader and RDRFR. Although I don't have the time to try them out right now (summer cannot come fast enough!), it's still nice to see new features and fixes from you guys.

Even SWAT officers with rifles barely shoot during pursuits.

 

It's most obvious when in cover: usually they pop out and then back in without firing most times, and never really more than once if they do.

Well, not just in cover. Watching a SWAT team stand in the open not returning fire is also obvious.

 

The only real time they shoot is when they get knocked down on the ground.

whyyyyyy start this post of with how busy the site is, because yes we're all stuck at home due to the virus but you want to release a minor update "right before gta 5 updates and you also release the rest of your planned content" so the community is already limited to how much time we have to play until patchday breaks the game, so no this didn't help anybody or make the game playable until the other devs update their plugins. Guess you don't care about having a playable game at a time when you have the most people available to play...  but heyyyy site numbers are up so who cares. -_-

Dude, it's a small update, plus Rockstar updates don't normally break LSPDFR, it's only RageHook that requires an update.

? did ya not read what I just said lol, its a small update, but broke lspdfr when it comes to plugins.... the major ones, stop the ped, compulite, ext.

If those plugins disable themselves with a version check instead of actual incompatibility, that's not the LSPDFR team's issue.

Will you guys add an option to have a partner in another vehicle? That would be awesome for random ambient event crime. Or how about other police cars responding to callouts? Thanks for the update!

The developer of those plugins has decided (for whatever reason) to add code that completely disables them under a bunch of different conditions, one of which is if you don't have the version of LSPDFR he developed them for installed. There is no reason for this as minor updates like this one do not affect plugins, but there is nothing the LSPDFR devs can do about it and they are not going to stop releasing updates because of one stubborn plugin developer.

I've been looking forward to any new major or minor releases, and I am greatly happy to now have the feature to find previous escaped suspects! I was just thinking about this being a possible feature last night when a vehicle involved in a robbery turned into a pursuit, the vehicle flipped, and three people took off on foot with one of them getting away.

Yeah lol, I got banned from his Discord server for suggesting that the mods should only show a warning ("not tested on this version of LSPDFR") instead of completely disabling themselves for minor LSPDFR version updates. Makes no sense at all, and is very hostile to users.

Eh bien, pas seulement en couverture. Il est également évident de regarder une équipe SWAT en plein air sans riposter.

 

Le seul moment réel où ils tirent, c'est lorsqu'ils sont renversés au sol.

exactly !!! thank you very much, because i also noticed this big problem, the cops let themselves be shot even when the lethal force is activated. Thanks for sharing this because I thought I was the one with the problem, but no. Besides, I don't know if you noticed, but sometimes my character gets attacked or even NPCs and we can't even report the crime anymore. The only crimes that can be reported are the thefts of cars parked in front of us and the escape beds. here are the many crimes that cannot be reported, such as fights, shootings,  thefts of his character's police vehicle, drivers who crush pedestrians.

Thought about implementing a new feature; have other units respond to the same calls as you. Sometimes you get there first and see them roll up, or it's the other way around. 

 

Ever thought of implementing like a crime status for each area? Which will manage how many "random/caught in the act" events we'll receive?

Agreed. That's why you backup your best running version and revert til everything is updated...we've only been teaching that since.....EVER lol
