  1. That's generally how the Internet works.
  2. I don't understand how it's bullshit that it says the name of the user reading it...For you it says him1250, for me it says willpv23, for c13 it says c13, so on and so forth for all 114,340 members.
  3. I'm sure Police Helper does work a lot better after uninstalling it Disabling the events should decrease the crashing significantly, but other functions still wouldn't function as well as they did with .95. Mainly because there are problems when PH and LCPDFR are both trying to use the same objects - usually peds and cars. I do have Police Helper installed and running when I play (with events disabled), but rarely use it and it doesn't cause any issues.
  4. You shouldn't talk that way about our beloved community team member. You might make him never want to come back... Joking aside, I don't think there is such a thing as a government who trusts its people. Or a country (meaning everyone in the country) who trusts its government. Also, this is relevant: "If you love your country, your country should love you too; but how can you trust someone who doesn't trust you?"
  5. This is all I use: -percentvidmem 100 -nomemrestrict -norestrictions The same as the post above, without the availablevidmem (which is pointless anyway). It's really only to let the game use all of the memory, which is usually the issue with texture loss on high end systems.
  6. The up and down arrow keys control the menu; if they are controlling your car, you can remove those keybinds in the controls settings. You can't disable, as far as I know, the right and left arrows controlling the steering, though.
  7. After pressing F8, you use the arrow keys to navigate the menu and press enter to select the highlighted option.
  8. Yes, all "perfectly legitimate reason." That doesn't disprove the fact that there are reasons why those acts would be suspicious. The candidate thing is just ridiculous. People are going to have their own opinions that don't match those of Democrats or Republicans, but clearly are not terrorists, and that doesn't even make them anti-US. It shows that they want to make the US what they think will be better. I personally think the two party system is bullshit. You shouldn't vote for a president simply because he/she is Republican or Democratic, you should vote for the one you think will make the best leader of the US. If you are Democratic, but think the Republican candidate is the better one, then you should vote for the Republican.
  9. "There may be a perfectly legitimate reason why any of the indicators described below is present; we are counting on you to determine when that is not the case." I'm sure you can see why using cash, constantly changing appearance, buying a lot of the same weapon, traveling a distance to purchase it, and being anti-US can be suspicious. They aren't saying they're always suspicious, just that they can be. -Use cash - don't want the purchase to be easily traced by credit card; trying to cover their tracks. -Changing appearance - trying not to be recognized, obviously not just shaving your beard or dying your hair, purposefully altering your appearance so someone who has seen you before would not recognize you. -Buying multiple of the same weapon - planning something as a group, why would someone buy 10 of the same gun for themselves for defensive or recreational use? -Traveling - going to a shop far away from home so they wouldn't be connected to that shop -Anti-US - yes, there are people who are anti-US and are not planning terrorist attacks, but I'm pretty sure every terrorist is anti-US. None of the things on that list are definitive in anyway, but they are things to be suspicious of.
  10. He has a new, not-yet-released version of ELS.
  11. There was never an official release date, I don't know where you're getting that date from. It's still in early development. Check out SCS's blog, specifically these posts.
  12. It's at the officer's discretion, really. Obviously, the law says you would get fined (or whatever the law says about it). But the officer might be willing to brush it off if you are respectful and have a good record. I don't understand the debate here... You can't say "all the officers here would(n't) fine you" because that's not true. Some will always give a ticket, some may never give one, some will decide based on the circumstance.
  13. I would assume yes.
  14. Change to these settings in the Events section of PoliceHelper.ini: [ EVENTS ] TrafficEventsTimeout = 0 // Set timeout for creating traffic events (speeders will be created 2x more often). // Set it to 0 to turn off traffic events. WorldEventsTimeout = 0 // Set timeout for creating world events. Set it to 0 to turn off world events. EnableOtherEvents = False // Enable casual events like tourists asking for directions etc.I don't know about the bait car feature, I haven't tried using it with LCPDFR yet.
  15. I, personally, think this is the best card on the market: EVGA's GTX 780 Ti Classified King Ping Edition for $849.99. The only thing Titan has that is better than that is it's 6GB of VRAM. The 780 Ti only has 3GB, but everything about it is faster than the Titan. You could also just get one of the cheaper 780 Ti's, all of them will perform nicely.
  16. I thought this was going to be about the "Hot Coffee Mod"... I did like the coffee thing in .95, though. Just sit there drinking coffee while waiting for a callout. Also, there is no CPR.
  17. http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=11313 Oh, but I don't think you can control the character at the same time. Or even see the character.
  18. You mean this:
  19. Police Helper should be more stable if you disable all of the world events. Open PoliceHelper.ini, and change the "Events" settings to these: [ EVENTS ] TrafficEventsTimeout = 0 // Set timeout for creating traffic events (speeders will be created 2x more often). // Set it to 0 to turn off traffic events. WorldEventsTimeout = 0 // Set timeout for creating world events. Set it to 0 to turn off world events. EnableOtherEvents = False // Enable casual events like tourists asking for directions etc.
  20. You're looking too much into what I'm saying. I'm literally saying that the purpose of guns is to hurt people, whether that be in self defense, someone's else's defense, or whatever other reason. The fear that people have of guns ("Just seeing a gun could change a persons mind") is because of that purpose. Again, I am not expressing my opinion in any way. I understand both sides of the argument, and remain neutral.
  21. Where did I say "looking to kill or hurt someone?" I'm talking about the functions of the gun itself, not the intentions of the carrier. What I'm saying is that the only purpose of a gun in public is to kill or hurt someone. What else does a gun do besides that and scare people? (Also, again, "in public," not talking about hunting or a shooting range here)
  22. The difference between a hammer and a gun is that the only purpose of carrying a gun in public is to hurt or kill someone, whether that be in self defense or not, and a hammer is a tool. (Notice I said "carrying a gun in public": I do not mean hunting or going to a shooting range) I don't really have an opinion on the subject right now, I recognize the positives and negatives of this issue, I'm only using logic here.
  23. It disappears because of your object view distance setting. The higher the setting, the better the spotlight will work.
  24. Are you running Steam as an administrator?
