CVPI vs Charger PP - Side by Side Comparison in GTA IV
A side by side comparison of the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (using a 2003 CVPI handling line) and the 2011 Dodge Charger Police Package. Inspired by NicolaiB's (NBVideoGameVids) Dodge Charger Top Speed Test video; I wanted to see how the Charger compared to the CVPI.

Plagiarism, respect and you. An important notice regarding our Community Guidelines.
This is exactly how I feel about this whole thing. It's a VIDEO GAME. Just play it and have fun. Also THIS. You people go throwing accusations at the community team for not doing anything, yet you do nothing to help them. When they ask for your help, you don't give it. Instead you go posting idiotic memes. To add to what NB said here, they "work hard every day" for absolutely nothing. There is zero reward for them. The only thing inspiring the Community Team to keep doing what they're doing is their love for this community. I think they deserve the respect they're asking for.

What do you want to see more of in LCPDFR?
This would be done by the community using the callout API.

How long can you play?
I think the freval thing should have been fixed in 1.0a, I haven't played much since I installed it. I know I can fix the crash on exit part, I'm just too lazy and it doesn't bother me.

How long can you play?
0 minutes (crash during loading) - forever (when I get bored and stop playing). It varies greatly. Sometimes I'll crash on the way to the station, sometimes as soon as I start to patrol, sometimes because of a certain error (like the freval thing), sometimes it will be fine until I'm done playing (then it crashes on exit, of course).

LSPDFR and LSSDFR?
It actually doesn't work on any page on http://www.g17media.com/, just adds a "/#" to the end of the URL.

Upgrading processor and motherboard
I don't really see the point in spending over $200 (USD, that is) on a motherboard. Sure, it's the most important part of the PC, but that money could easily be spent on things that will actually make your gaming experience better, like the GPU and CPU. Just get a decent motherboard that is compatible with the CPU, GPU, RAM, and case you are looking at or have. If you decide you want a more expensive motherboard for whatever reason later, then get a new one then. Edit: Bumped up that price since apparently the motherboards for Intel CPUs are way more than the motherboards for AMD. Another reason to buy AMD...

Keeping one light on steady burn?
With ELS 7, you can just make it a primary light, then set it to be the only light that turns on when you activate cruise lights in the vehicle config file. When you turn on cruise lights in-game, it will be lit. You'd also want to set "OnForAiCars = on", but that doesn't seem to actually change anything in game, so I think it's non-functional right now. Also, "DisableAtLstg3 = off". Edit: What he was saying is to set the light as both extras 5 and 6 (have both 5 and 6 in the same spot), which also works, and will work with any version of ELS, as well as with the AI.

LCPDFR is still a pain in the ass.
Automatic installers never seem to work properly when it comes to GTA IV. With the manual installation, all you need to do is copy all of the files from the download to your GTA IV folder. I've never seen a simpler installation process for any mod. The other, unexpected problems, are due to incompatible systems (i.e. XP with .NET Framework 4.5) and GTA IV just being GTA IV (the issue with the taser). All of the required programs (.NET Framework, Visual C++, etc) should already be on your computer if you keep it up-to-date, so there shouldn't be a problem there. And finally, it's a mod that is developed by 3 people (Sam, , LMS, plus testers) in their spare time, absolutely free of cost to you, excluding the purchase of GTA IV and your internet service.

GTA IV Roadblock script?
If you open vdH_PoliceHelper.ini, scroll down to this section: [ ROADBLOCK ] CustomCar = NONE // Custom car to set at road blocks. Leave blank to get cop car currently in memory. Type = 0 // 0 - random road block type, 1 - wood road block, 2 - concrete road block Accuracy = 45 // Accuracy of policemen on road block (0-100)Change "Type" to "2", that will spawn concrete barriers as the roadblock, so even though the police cars join the pursuit, there will still be a barrier.

LCPDFR T-shirt
I bought a shirt from a YouTube guy that uses Spreadshirt. I don't know how you go about selling stuff through them, but it's worth looking into. I know he has a separate shop site for North America and Europe, so I think they handle that stuff for you. Here's the links to his stores: American, European This is the Spreadshirt home page.

LCPDFR T-shirt
I'd probably buy one if there was a store.

(EFLC) "OMG" seeing buildings
Yeah, you could try that. I'm not saying it will work, but it's worth a shot.

(EFLC) "OMG" seeing buildings
Did you not get the memo about construction across the entire city? I don't know what the problem is, the only thing I could suggest is to start a new game since sometimes random appearing things is due to a corrupted save file. From my experience, they usually have the orange glow that's around pickup items, though. I do know people always seem to have problems with Icenhancer.

Chicago PD (T.V. Show)
I just hope it doesn't end up like Chicago Code did and get canceled after one season...

Chicago PD (T.V. Show)
I love Chicago Fire, so naturally I had to watch this too. I forgot about it last week, though, so I watched the premier last night. This show is just as good. I love that they had characters from Chicago Fire show up in it, too; Dawson and Shay in the ambulance, Herrmann at the police station, then Herrmann and Otis at Molly's. You kind of have to watch Chicago Fire to get the references...

"Detain on Foot" does absolutely nothing
Yes, arrest them like you normally would and don't call for a prisoner transport - say you will transport the person yourself. You can then do whatever it is you want to do. When you're done, you can aim at the person and press E (or hold E, not sure which, a message will pop up though) to release them. If you want to interact with the person you cuffed again, you will first have to release him/her.

Court Rules Against FCC's Open Internet Laws
I think the ruling is correct as well, but this is removing the whole "open internet," "net neutrality" thing that everyone likes and fights for. The problem is that ISPs will have control over what we do on the internet now more than ever. Verizon says nothing is going to change for the consumers, but I highly doubt that will be true. All companies are always looking for more ways to make money, and I'm sure over time we will have to pay more to access more of the internet. Similar to how cable is already - you can pay for a basic package and just get basic channels, or you can pay extra for more channels. With the internet, they'll be able to charge you to use certain sites now. "Want to access all your favorite social media sites? Sorry, you'll have to buy the 'social media' package for that." Hopefully that doesn't happen, but it is entirely possible now.

Court Rules Against FCC's Open Internet Laws
If the FCC wants to appeal the court of appeals' decision, they'd have to have the Supreme Court review the case. This is the whole appealing process: http://www.uscourts.gov/FederalCourts/UnderstandingtheFederalCourts/HowCourtsWork/TheAppealsProcess.aspx "The court of appeals decision usually will be the final word in the case, unless it sends the case back to the trial court for additional proceedings, or the parties ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review the case."

Court Rules Against FCC's Open Internet Laws
Does Congress ever get anything done? Hopefully the FCC brings it to the Supreme Court and they actually do something.

Court Rules Against FCC's Open Internet Laws
http://www.thewire.com/technology/2014/01/what-ruling-against-fccs-open-internet-laws-means-you/356997/ You can easily find other sources by a simple Google search. Basically, a federal appeals court ruled that the FCC does not have the power to require ISPs (internet service providers) to treat all internet traffic equally. What this means is that ISPs such as Time Warner Cable and Verizon will be able to block and slow down websites. This could lead to having to pay more to access certain websites, smaller websites could be slowed down and larger websites with big wallets will be sped up, and a whole lot more if this isn't changed. According to the court, only Congress has the power to enact such laws, so until they do so or they delegate that power to the FCC, ISPs are free to do whatever they want.

Vice city Rage Question?
Has anyone tested using map mods with 1.0? There's a few problems I could see since 1.0 relies more on the GTA IV map than .95, such as the road names for radio transmissions. I guess that shouldn't cause a problem, though; usually the game picks road names regardless (there is still a road name when you press the button that zooms out the radar, as well as under the radar with ELS). Try it out and see what happens, I guess. Some callouts might work, like the reckless drivers - I think they are spawned randomly. For more callouts, you should be able to use >Braveheart's Policing Script since some of them are spawned in random places instead of at a specific location. >VpCallouts might do that, too.
