ELS patterns/maps
I suggest you rename your ELS folder ELStemp and then install fresh from the ELS 8 download. So you can still open the original default_config, etc, etc. and look at the Pattern ID #s. And then change the .ini on the fresh install. I only say this because there could be other new options besides the one in [ PRML ] that you are missing.

ELS patterns/maps
I think you are correct because my settings do not look like the ones Annatalons posted. They look familiar though so I think it is a ELS 7 .ini file. But his ingame picture shows ELS 8 is installed. So Annatalons, are you using a back up ELS file or did someone else give you those configs files? I think it is formatted originally for ELS 7 and that is why it doesn't work like you expect.

LA Port Police DSF CVPI Texture
The vehicle livery looks interesting. I noticed most of the pictures are black & white vehicles now. Just wondering because the B&W vehicle livery actually looks pretty neat. I saw a picture of black & white tahoe with black dome/glass top lightbar and that gives it a mean look strangely.

LCPDFR 1.0D Crashes after i install ELS V8
If you are lucky, this is the same issue I first had with LCPDFR and ELS. I had a habit of installing LCPDFR first and then any visual mods after that. And I usually let the mods/scripts replace anything it needed. 1.0d is the first time for me where it is a big No-No.. The "advancehook" and "scripthook" files for ELS are not compatible with 1.0d and will cause the game to crash shortly after trying to go on duty. You could install ELS first before LCPDFR. OR just simply look at the downloaded 1.0d archive/folder and make it is using those files and not the ones that come with ELS.

Really neat post Fiskey111. Reminds me of some the very cool "Day in the life" videos that let you see inside how a particular department works.

New to LCPDFR having trouble with simple native trainer and ELS!
So you have the Trainer.asi and Trainer.ini inside your GTAIV folder? I'm taking a bit of a guess here, but if you are having problems with both menus it might be a key bind conflict. And I think sometimes people post that they have to mash their key like 5-6 times before it opens. Best thing to do is try changing the keys for the main functions of ELS or SNT. (always good to back up before modifying) For some people it will be super easy and for some it won't. Hopefully this is the reason and you can get it fixed quick. (i personally had better luck changing around the ELS keybinds. Slightly less confusing and way less entries to look at compared to trainer.ini) Reply to this thread if that doesn't fix it. Maybe someone else will have other ideas.

Grand Theft Auto V Release Dates (PC, PS4 & Xbox One)
The only other interesting rockstar pc game I would play is RDR. But it doesn't exist and I don't think that would even convince me to pre-order ever.

Vancouver PD
I've never really paid attention to it, but I went and looked at it and both pictures are legit. It appears the design has been refined since the introduction. awesomeburodude, the one in your picture appears to be the original. When the marked charger was introduced, I read they only had a handful of those vehicles for the first few months. Most pictures from around that time, July-August 2013 appear as such. BErad1502 does have the correct image for the current fleet. Funny thing is I just realized that I looked over pictures of the exact same unit (C8275) with the original and revised design.

Partner as the driver of your car?
If it can be done within LCPDFR that would definitely be cool. You can do something similar with SNT like ineseri stated. You have to change a few options with driver and your character and then set a waypoint for the patrol. We just need a slick interface and simpler way to have all that done. If you are familiar with SNT, it isn't that difficult to do. But there is some set up before you even play. And sometimes I have limited time, so I don't bother with spending extra time to get it to work correctly. Some routes the AI driver will do fine. And other routes they will go bat-shit crazy as expected for GTA IV npcs.

how to uninstall old lcpdfr versions completely
If you are looking at vehicles to download here or elsewhere, check the first 7-8 comments and see if any odd things or issues come up. Pick the ones you like, rarely do I see lemons put up for download here. Since you are trying to re-learn and get familiar with cars and probably other mods as well, I suggest you install any additional content one at a time. So install 1 car, start the game and drive around for 5 minutes. Try crashing the vehicle into things, shoot out all the windows, damage related things and toggle through all the ELS lighting stage and sirens. If that runs fine you can install another, etc, etc. I think the cars can be a bit more finicky and tougher on your performance. Once you are happy with the cars you want, then install any scripts like plate readers, breathalyzers. Depending on your comp, you may get only a few cars to work and there are those who can replace a dozen vehicles or more.

Alternative VisualSettings.dat for ELS - (reduced bloom/glow)
Nope, from the beginning of the topic I made clear the purpose. "The aim of this change is for running ELS without a ENB." "No, you won't get an increase of FPS from changing the values I listed." If you like ENB's or using one at the moment, this alternative is not for you. The only thing I am doing here is looking for settings that help people running default ELS with NO enhancements or graphical mods. So if you don't like how it looks, you might be able to do something about it. "iansonwheels" With the settings and FPS you've listed as your current set up, that is decent and no reason to change. If you like how your game currently looks, then all this information is of no use to you. But if there is room for improvement, check out the pictures in the first post and compare. Or go to the gallery linked below. You will see a few examples of changed emissive values and take that info to experiment with. Go here ->

Valor lightbars look different (Arjent and Legend affected in same way.)
Glad it is useful in some way. I didn't describe it that well when I first posted this. Quick explanation for what I am trying to show in this specific picture. - I like how the Valor lightbar looks on the right with higher emissive value. But I dont like how the grill lights and headlights look. I think it might be possible to edit the vehicle's headlight and grill emissive texture to get it to look how i want. Or do the opposite because the Valor on the left picture isn't impressive looking at all. I could try to edit that texture instead.

Who else Pre-Ordered GTA5?
Video card crapped out over the summer and I had to get an early replacement. That means not the card I wanted at the time.. Thinking about what the system requirements could be is not fun at all.

I want to record video 'Patrol day in LCPDFR ". Need advice.
I am still new to OBS, but you might be able to do it with "Monitor Capture". You can add it to your "Sources" box. I believe it records whatever you see on your monitor. So it doesn't matter if it is windowed or fullscreen. I could be wrong though.

Alternative VisualSettings.dat for ELS - (reduced bloom/glow)
Changing any of these values, won't help or hurt your FPS. You don't want to lower the values that I've listed because it will basically stop the emissive textures from "glowing" Removing the whole point of having the ELS lighting system. This is for people that can't run an ENB because their computer can't keep high FPS. Simple way for you to try customizing your ELS settings so that it might look better. Feel free to look at the other enhancements on LCPDFR. A lot of other users here have modified visualSettings.dat and timecyc.dat which affects a lot more things like time of day and the weather.

Lower car.defaultlight.emissive.on Value

Alternative VisualSettings.dat for ELS - (reduced bloom/glow)
No, you won't get an increase of FPS from changing the values I listed. The only reason you would get better performance is to stop using an ENB if you were using one previously. car.defaultlight.emissive.on 30.00 = increasing the value makes the colour more intense. (increments of 15) misc.BloomIntensityClamp.HD 6.00 = increasing these values intensifies the glow that is around the light texture. (increments of 1-2) misc.BloomIntensityClamp.SD 6.00 = "same as above" misc.BloomIntensityClamp.SD.ps3 3.0 = "same as above" And I think the "misc.bloomIntensity" works off the "car.defaultlight.emissive.on" value. If you want to extra glow, change one of them and test. If you change all of the values, you may get a very dramatic increase. This is all trial and error by me. Please correct me if I have said anything wrong. I have linked pictures to the gallery so a few more resolution options are available. - So Valor, Arjent, Legend lightbars will not look as good in low bloom and sometimes during daytime. The emissive texture for these lightbars are a little darker and I believe that is because it replicates the curved/notched glass of the real thing. Very cool, but they do look terrible in game compared to other lightbars. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

Alternative VisualSettings.dat for ELS - (reduced bloom/glow)
To the point: Use a fresh install of GTA IV. Install ELS 8.0. After that install LCPDFR 1.0d and let it replace any duplicate files because it comes with the newest versions. Find your visualSettings.dat file in your GTAIV / common / data / [ always Back up your config files before changing ] Change the specified lines to these values - car.defaultlight.emissive.on 30.00 misc.BloomIntensityClamp.HD 6.00 misc.BloomIntensityClamp.SD 6.00 misc.BloomIntensityClamp.SD.ps3 3.0 (Nothing else needs to be modified. Increasing the values listed above gives you more bloom if you want it. Decreasing the values start to "fade", diminish, washout the colours.) [ WHY would you do this ] The aim of this change is for running ELS without a ENB. In most cases I would take the FPS hit, but sometimes it gets to the point where it isn't very playable. My main factor is with the bloom. I really don't like the star burst glow effect it gives off in game. Tried my best to reduce it while keeping the lights colourful. You can't remove it or set too low because it dulls out the colours and ruins the purpose. By doing this i found that the emerglights texture in the vehicle model really shines through. :) This actually showed me that the changes i have made are not very significant. And the vehicle's emerglights texture can play a bigger part to it. Some of them look good in this low bloom situation and there are some that don't look good. (included pictures of different lightbars and their emissive texture) I like that this has given me the idea to try changing around a vehicle's emissive pattern. Very difficult to get right, but it might make a difference if I add in a new vehicle and for some reason the look doesn't mesh well with the other cars in the pack. http://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-19808100-1420626263.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-81449000-1420626287.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-84974300-1420626308.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-24058300-1420626324.jpg

Who else Pre-Ordered GTA5?
Not everyone cares about GTA V for the same reason. Some people will care only about story. Some will only care about sandbox potential. And some will only play if it has a unique idea, like being a police officer/emergency personnel. So why would someone buy something that doesn't cater to what they are looking for in a game.. My personal example is GTA IV. - [ Indifferent ] - The story I didn't care about, but I thought it was okay after playing through. - [ Bad ] - The sandbox element was really bland to me. Big city, neighbourhoods and concrete everywhere. - [ Good ] - I bought GTA IV specifically for the police mod because there is nothing like it. And it isn't giving me any other reason to. (The Swat games are great, but it was created around set pieces, specific scenarios and locations. The combination of police gameplay and open world nature made GTA IV + LCPDFR something freaking else.) Now the matter of GTA V. - [ Good ] - I avoided most story spoilers so far and the game seems fun to romp through at least once. - [ Good ] - Amazing looking open world with variety. A big city/downtown to drive through or small little towns. Wilderness, dusty mountain trails contrasted to lots of highways, large airports/military installations. - [ Icing on the cake ] - Police mod for GTA V. I honestly don't care if it happens. This time around it has enough of what I am interested in. The core of the game is looking really strong to me. If it had a LCPDFR mod as well, then I won't need to play any other games for a few years.

Time Cycle mod that makes ELS and game look great without an ENB..
Thanks for the reply. My motivation is simply the dislike of the "flare / star burst glow" the normal ELS lights have. So either I use a ENB(with FPS drop) so the glow is a smooth and even distribution. Or if I have to play with no ENB... I will try to diminish the "star burst glow" as much as possible without losing too much of the bold light colour. 1st Screenshot = Noon 2nd Screenshot = 18:00hr -Tahoe's interior lightbar is muted, I believe from the tinted windows. 3rd Screenshot = 06:00hr - Tahoe and Impala http://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-07618600-1420509739.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-20046600-1420509757.jpghttp://www.lcpdfr.com/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-56944-0-32609800-1420509775.jpg
