  1. So I remember a Rockstar press release about the PC version having "better" and more traffic, wildlife, etc. Of course that can mean anything. So again, are there randomly patrolling police vehicles doing their own thing? Not necessarily on a call or arresting anybody. But just driving around the city.
  2. What? Am I anti-hyping everyone.. haha Night shift, need to pack dinner. Have fun people, hopefully smooth launch. I'm outta here!
  3. Going to work in 45 minutes. So I should have several reputable reviews to read when I get home. Then I can make a decision on ordering it.
  4. 4PM PST on April 13th. Fixed that for you. I'm a little surprised but a good surprise. Hopefully I'll have a few reviews to look at by tomorrow evening.
  5. You are very perceptive. Great post by the way. You nailed the issue with this type of editing. I am sort of stuck in the same place as you. Some lightbars and their emissive textures ingame don't look very good in low bloom/"glow" situations. (i noticed it is mainly Legend & Valor lightbars.) '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> <-You seem to know your stuff, so you maybe aware of this or have seen this already. Either it is dull and washed out like you've said. Or you bump up the emissive and the lights blob out... I haven't been able to find a middle ground that I am personally happy with. The visualsettings.dat can only do so much unfortunately. And ENBs do so much more with visual/lighting upgrades. But instability and performance problems can creep in to your game if your computer isn't beefy. Good luck with your attempts. :)
  6. Sorry had to make dinner and some stuff happened. The forum also didn't notify me. :( Lower that number to between 30-60. It should have less of a "glow" like in this picture. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> You had asked a little about ENBs. If you have a really powerful computer, it can change how the game looks in different ways. If your computer is not good enough, the low FPS can make the game unplayable. (I sometimes feel sick after 5-10minutes, when playing GTA 4 with low FPS.) If you want to see how crazy it can get. Watch this video. That person's computer is 10x better than mine and he can't get over 30fps. ELS and custom cars is not installed because he says it breaks the game.
  7. Can you find your, visualSettings.dat file in your GTAIV/common/data/ folder? Open with Notepad and find this line: car.defaultlight.emissive.on Tell me what number you see beside it. I think it is an easy thing to fix. But post what you have first.
  8. If you haven't had any luck so far, you could try some alternative visualsettings.dat that I tested. I hope the "fake" ENB you tried is not from my post. (as I make no claims on it doing anything a ENB does.) My goal was to make the ELS lights look a little better than default with no ENB use. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> **OLD post so it mentions the older versions. USE the latest versions of LCPDFR & ELS. The first post has thumbnails at the bottom so you can see a variety of lightbars and how they look. If you like what you see, give it a shot. The last post has a link to few pictures on exaggerated settings. It is an example to show people what they can change to find a custom brightness or bloom. You only need to change 1 file in your GTA folder. **I do warn you that a new install of GTA maybe required if you need troubleshooting. It sounds like you have tinkered quite a bit with other files/mods. Post here if you are unsure on how to go about it.
  9. Good luck with it. I want to try my hand at modelling but don't have the time to devote to it currently. If I do jump into it, will see how welcoming GTA V will be. Flickr can be really good though the search isn't reliable. There is a picture of the interior from my city's Valor Charger. Posted back in Sept and I only found it a week ago from looking at a different picture. Pinterest surprisingly has some amazing picture resources for various things. No idea about emergency vehicles and the downside is you have to be registered.
  10. You might get away with game4video like venixlux has mentioned. If you are serious about the 30ish FPS number. [EDIT] Just to mention I was running at that time 1680x1050res to have those stats. My old PC had a slightly better CPU than yours and a weaker GPU. 660 normal compared to your 670. (it still is a crapshoot with GTA IV, you could have identical systems performing wildly different from each other. I think my stats were commonly 25-45fps) I'm always one of those people, back up your stuff before attempting. If something goes wrong or you need to reinstall/test other ENBs, you could be saving hours with a good back up folder or copy of GTAIV. I feel it is more of a mid performance ENB. Very simple, no hassle, good looking emergency lighting. It doesn't do much with the rest of the world though.
  11. That is interesting to hear. Really crappy to have several incidents in my province where some car thief/jackass screws with the local dept, rcmp detachment. There was an incident with a box truck, and one with a pick up truck within the last year and a bit I think. Smashed 3-5 at each incident.
  12. (I have TrafficFlow, LCPDFR v1.1, ELS 8.0 and SNT trainer installed.) I wish I had good news for you. but I don't. It barely works now. -(same steps I gave you before. So save when you are sitting inside the car. Get out of the car and go right back in and Save again!. Do this AGAIN once more, so you are saving 3 times on the same vehicle. Really crappy, it used to be easy to do..) I am listing all the bad news basically. This Simple Native Trainer trick no longer works. I have no more ideas to make it work.. -Saving 1-2 cars seems stable. Any more I have crashing issues that I did not with older LCPDFR versions. -distance you can drive away seems inconsistent now... (my setting has not changed and is at - Els_Range_Pl = 800 <- ELS.ini file. Higher value could crash games.) that is the default setting I think. -FREEZING cars no longer works. It might work on the first car, but breaks pretty quickly and never works again.
  13. Hmm, I will try and test it out for you. Won't be able to give you an answer until tomorrow or maybe this evening if I have time. Some Simple Native Trainer tricks may not work with newer version of mods. You are using LCPDFR v1.1 right? I haven't tried it yet, but I'll install and see what happens.
  14. Only good thing to come from the trailer is the release date is still there and we may see the game soon. Visuals, 60FPS whatever else they want to market, I don't care. Rockstar can not impress me until I hear reviews about the game. And finally when I can install and test the game on my PC.
  15. Different people can have different performance with the same/similar systems. But let's not get into that can of worms. The optimization of the game is what people are generally worried about. Doesn't matter if my system specs beat the pants out of the recommended requirements. GTA V running well is not a sure thing. Look at how people treat GTA 4 and you will see why people think they need specs way better than recommended. I'm trying to remember if it is Watchdogs or another game a year ago. Before they patched it, which took a few weeks or a month. The game was released and people paid their 60bucks for it. And what did they get, Nvidia dual titan cards couldn't keep 60fps. And those cards were what $1000-$1300 each. It was mind-boggling when I read the reports of 2 users who were both running 2x titans and getting garbage performance.
  16. Not exactly what you are looking for. But a pretty good vehicle pack that I have forgotten about and never got around to testing. This post and your Tomar lightbar topic reminded me. Tomar 930L & Whelen Edge 9000 are used on the CVPI. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
  17. That is a pretty cool font so I went looking for it. I couldn't find the specific font, but a variation of it. Brock Script upper case appears identical. The lower case does not however. There are some sites that have graphics with the exact font, but they require registration to see specific details like font name. It looks like the Illinois cursive font is pretty popular with tattooing. So good luck if you want to find the exact one.
  18. Awwww.. My favourite out of the trio. I share his enthusiasm with space/science, piano, and slow in most things...
  19. The rumours I heard was just a punch to the face. That in itself is wrong, but sometimes people will act in a way that they deserve it. If Jezza did any more than that, I don't know what to think. Only something extreme like threatening your family or children would someone deserve a long ass whooping.
  20. I have to say, would be more interested in the least common/known vehicles they have. I remember a cool picture of their fully mobilized swat van that patrols the city and can deploy in minutes.
  21. Nope, the file GreenAid linked from policemods. I was interested in looking at your vehicle, but the site has been loading very slow and haven't had a chance yet.
  22. I believe the gtapolicemod linked above does have a red/blue texture included. If it is the gfxle one, the file package is amazingly well put together and even nowadays you don't see them put out with a lot of customization. The zip had labelled folders for Trim/No Trim/, Window Mesh, No Rambar, different Hubcaps. And white or Red/Blue lightbar emissive textures. My personally issue though is I can not find a suitable handling file. Niko's feet always go through the bottom of the car(flintstones style).
  23. Yup, that is the best way to set up a crime/accident scene that you want to drive to for example. I'll post a slightly detailed step by step guide. Relies heavily on Simple Native Trainer (Start) Spawn Car. Then set how dirty the car is(some people are picky about this) =D Set how you want ELS to look. - (Optional) Freeze Car (I prefer this as I don't want to drive across the city and find out that the stupid AI drivers pushed the fire engine into the ocean...) Save the Car, and Delete Car Blips as the last step. (when you save the car, a floating marker/chevron appears and stays above the vehicle. You'd probably want to remove it if you are making a video for example)
  24. My favourite tutorial which is on this site. http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/texturing-tips-and-tutorials/texturing-tips-and-tricks-r8 Though I do agree with a video tutorial if you find a really good one.
