Good Abraxas, on one occasion I thought you mentioned that when you call the coroner bodies do not disappear. Could you do something similar to when we called the ambulance with the Police helper?

P. D. Can you give us any clues about when the Police have helper new version please?

What were you trying to do?

I was trying to spawn in the 'polpatriot' vehicle via the PH.

Just a couple of ideas of mine which pretty much are the same as the bait car scenario. I'll put the idea details in spoilers to reduce the amount of text visible immediately :)

 

Firstly, an undercover cop in a drug deal:

- Using a similar mechanism to the prostitution demo shown

- Drop him off in a remote location then hide (ped id could be one of the gangsters or one of the dealers to be more exact)

- Potential dealer/buyer shows up (maybe even 2 buyers/dealers show up which causes pressure on the undercover cop you put there)

 

Outcomes could be

- Successful deal - gets you intel on a drug organisation (like the bait car gang organisation) you follow the dealers to their hideout etc

- Successful deal - cop calls in backup using a trigger word (you're the backup) leading to an arrest of the dealer/buyer

- Failed deal - the cop is killed and the suspect(s) flee

- Failed deal - cop is injured, shootout occurs, meaning backup and medical assistance needed

 

In the event of a failed deal you could use the collect evidence feature to check the bodies or pick up money or bags (containing drugs) which have a rare chance of giving you the location of the hideout

 

Similarly you could collect evidence at the hideout after it is safe (suspects all arrested/killed) and potentially (even rarer chance than above) find something which points you to a cartel or organised crime syndicate.

for this you wouldn't need to spawn in a huge event after the hideout, maybe just to save time have a message from the higher ranking detectives saying "Thanks for the intel we'll be able to shut this organisation down for good now." and give you a small reward (like how you earn money if you correctly point a lost pedestrian in the right direction)

 

Secondly, more specific stakeouts:

Like the way the bait car operation works (you have to sit with the engine off for a while watching an area)

 

you would first be told (when you select to do a stakeout) that you received an anonymous tip of a potential meeting of a high value target who you need to observe.

 

You would then begin the stakeout by going to a police station to pick up another cop who has a camera (doesn't need to spawn with a camera, just for role play), and it would spawn a location for you to go to (rather than you choosing one yourself) when you arrive you have to park the car and engine off (like with the bait car).

 

Then you would need to sit and watch a particular area for a while before the 'target(s)' would be spawned in. Sometimes they may never spawn in and instead you would receive a message to say that you were unable to collect any intel as the anonymous tip was fake.

 

Then you have the options to either rush in and capture the guys straight away, call for backup and wait for them to arrive to help you before you rush in (maybe the target is extremely dangerous) or wait to see what the targets do.

The targets could then (if you waited) either get into a car which arrives (you could follow or pull it over) or they could begin to walk off.

 

To make it end you could again either be directed to a hideout, put into an intense pursuit or receive a message from higher ranking detectives thanking you for providing all the visual intel you collected (you would need to just pretend that your officers had a camera hidden in the car with them.)

 

As a rare occurrence the targets could spot you without you noticing and intentionally lead you via car into a trap (you would set it up like a normal hideout but then more cars would arrive to make it harder.)

or they could immediately pull out weapons and try to attack you straight away.

 

Just a couple of ideas to help give some random diversity to the whole lcpdfr experience, because for me all of my callouts using lcpdfr and braveheart's script tend to be domestic disturbances or suspicious people, gets tedious after a while.

That's why I like your mod as it allows me to add to the experience and gives me an extra special mission I can set up (the bait car) and run it all myself without the need for a random call out.

The Polpatriot slot has always been problematic for me; certain models will crash the game whenever that slot is spawned, and others do not.  It depends upon what car you have in the slot and is not a problem with PoliceHelper.

My god, serious hard on right now, don't give a rats who thinks that's inappropriate, the truth is never inappropriate. Looking forward to it mate.

I was trying to spawn in the 'polpatriot' vehicle via the PH.

 

Probably the model it happens in SNT for me it crashes SNT and I have to restart GTA. Some models work, some don't. Try a vehicle with a low poly count (low detail) and it should work.

i figured the new police helper woulda been out by now is abs still on vacation?

I'm back, but there may be no new PoliceHelper or any other script by me anymore. I've just lost my job (didn't see that coming at all) and to be honest I can't get my shit together right now. 

Holy shit that's severe man, and it sucks too because I can't imagine the quality of your real-life work not being on the same high level as your gta-mod-related work. I hope you land on your feet, don't worry about the mods - to be honest we're probably all a bit busy playing gta v anyway!
