Lets talk LSPDFR vs FiveM

Featured Replies

So im a huge fan of LSPDFR and have been playing for awhile now. But i've noticed a lot lately that all i'm seeing is "FiveM Ready" and "Non-ELS" everywhere.

Is it just me or dose it feel like FiveM is killing the single player LSPDFR experience. I use to check almost everyday and see new ELS models  and new textures and EUP's almost everyday and now its seem rare to see an ELS vehicle or new plugins.

Lets talk.

Hello,

So, I have several things to discuss with what was said.

FiveM:
1. FiveM is a great way to build a roleplay community and have fun.

2. While it is not the same as LSPDFR, you can create a number of callouts just by planning with friends and taking the time to partake in serious Roleplay.
3. It offers a wide variety of scenarios, not just LSPDFR related, but in other aspects.

LSPDFR:

1. The number one mod for police roleplay in a singleplayer manner.

2. Provides the base for many different options to be added onto it.

3. If you enjoy a single player roleplay experience, this is for you.

Now, as for the FiveM Ready stuff you are seeing, that is in regards to the Lenny's Mod Loader if I remember correctly. I could be wrong but that allows for the vehicles to be added to it easier.

You can't compare or debate the two, because they both have very different uses, elements and interactions.   If you want the full functionality of singleplayer modding and LSPDFR, play LSPDFR.  If you want human interaction with roleplays that are 100% human created, go fivem. Both are amazing.

The whole "Fivem ready" thing usually means it includes server files.  In my opinion, these files should be removed.  This website is primarily for LSPDFR and singleplayer mods.  Uploading a mod that contains server files is useless to the majority of this community.  To be fair, I will say a lot of these fivem files do contain the actual vehicles and data files for the models, so it's not a huge deal, and the car can still be used in singleplayer.  There's no such thing as "fivem only car".

Non-ELS has been around since GTA V's release.  Non-ELS was THE thing everyone used, it's still what a lot of folks prefer.  The non-ELS thing has nothing to do with fivem other than ELS is not compatible with fivem.

I dont like playing online so I just play LSPDFR. I think that the current plugins and whatnot that we have available to us for LSPDFR are pretty decent. I play LSPDFR with Assorted callouts (with street race and Pacific bank heist disabled) LSPDFR+ which works really well with the Computer+ plugin which are few among the many plugins I have. I get that there aren't as many models and plugins updated constantly but I suggest just using what we already have on offer.

I know nothing about fiveM, I have asked on several threads but never really got a answer seems all the threads ended with my question, I don't know maybe its secret or something. So maybe some of you can explain it to me? How its played and there is no plugins? no interaction with AI? How do you go about getting into a group or clan or whatever they are called, just anything would be helpful and more help than i have previously got, or how could I create my own server?

FiveM is a large contributor to why you see fewer new vehicles and stuff posted, but it's not because of any inherent superiority of FiveM. It's because server owners will pay big bucks to get exclusive models for their servers. People don't post as much free content as they used to just for the fun and community of it, because anyone who's half-decent at modding has people messaging them all the time asking them to do commissions.

(And before anyone calls me a hypocrite, I've turned down countless offers to make exclusive FiveM content. Not all my stuff has been publicly released yet, but none of it has been sold for private FiveM use.)

There is no shame in being compensated for your talent and countless hours of work, most people take what you guys do for granted anyway they will be the first ones to complain about something but never courteous enough to even give a like or decent review on stuff they download just to show a little appreciation. If i had your talent and know how and was asked to make something other than what I had released for private or exclusive use and was willing to pay for it then I say by all means get compensated for probably a 1/10 of the time that you have spent creating

Adding a more technical point of view, FiveM cars per se are a good thing in my opinion. They follow a clean folder structure and universally work as addon vehicles. Hence installing them is very simple by either putting them in a addon DLC or by using our very own Lenny's Mod Loader. As for the decline in ELS releases, it can probably be partly attributed to the lack of updates to ELS as a whole.

I've had plenty of experiences on LSPDFR that I could never get on Five M, mainly because of the more recent coding advancements with LSPDFR and the plugins for it. Recent plugins like StopThePed, Interaction+, Ultimate Backup, etc change the game when it comes to cop RP on GTA. On Five M you have nothing but annoying kids and admins who try to police any sort of fun. LSPDFR allows you to have fun without all the drama.

Five M is not taking away from LSPDFR at all, remember that 90% of those players come here to find mods. Some great LSPDFR plugin devs have retired but that just opens the door for new devs to enter with new ideas. Plus Five M is just a trend that got popular with all those twitch streamers that started playing. LC/LSPDFR has always been around long before even twitch.

This is very accurate imo. I play a mix of both, used to be exclusively fivem, then I remembered "oh crap... I have a pc now, I can finally do lspdfr!" and started messing with it. did that for a decent amount of time, then got back into rp. But one thing about rp, at least cop rp, is that its very easy for it to get heated, personal, and frustrating, to the point of it being unfun, especially when people start crying admin cause something didnt go their way. With lspdfr you dont have that problem, those locals you just massacred, cause well, you can? aren't gonna complain, you do that to other players in rp? consider yourself good as banned..... theyre both fun for different reasons, but in my honest opinion, lspdfr is much more stress and frustration free (as long as it isn't crashing 😛 )

Honestly, that sums up FiveM in a nutshell. While RP is fun when you play with people who don't get angry easily, it goes fun. However, one thing goes wrong, and shit will hit the fan and go south quick.

I know late reply, just wanted express my thoughts I've had for a awhile.

All good points by everyone. I do to some degree agree with the original post or question, it does feel like fiveM has kind of kill part of lspdfr. But there is more to it than that. Some modders decided to no longer pursue modding for personal reasons or the community just got to them. Which I think is the real issue, the community can be harsh at times or can get on the nerves of a creator with non-stop questions. TacticalDonut for example, you can tell the community was the issue and now we lost another great creator. I don't blame any of them for leaving or selling their content.

I wish the site had a seperate tab for the fiveM content rather than mixing it with lspdfr because the site is for lspdfr content. I think our community needs to be patient with creators working on content and encourage them to continue their work, even for the bad content out there. How else will it get better?

I don't personally like RP communities because of the issues others have mentioned but I still think the content can be here but separated from the core of what the site is supposed to represent which is lspdfr. With the plugin of lspdfr itself being updated more frequently, the game is getting better, same goes for the content the community puts out.

I actually prefer non ELS vehicles. Though I also prefer (and now only use) lore vehicles (manufacturers from in the game, stuff like Vanillaworks Extended, or RDE for an example).

I feel like real vehicles are cool and all but they just dont fit in and detract from the overall experience.

As for ELS I think it's just excessive and I read a lot about it having a few bugs as well. I find the vanilla system to be satisfactory and it also removes another script mod running in my game that has a pretty good amount of them already. This coupled with the fact that modelers dont bother with making ELS versions of vanilla and vanilla based vehicles (and I have no interest learning modeling to do it myself) makes ELS literally useless to me.

Dont get me wrong though, I'm all for creators making whichever theyd like. Also the fiveM vehicle mod setup is generally way cleaner than many of the vehicle mods I've downloaded to use as addons. I actually prefer when mods have their models and texture archives readily available for you to do with it on your own.

Theres also the fact that the game is how old now? Fatigue has set in long ago (just look at gta5-mods activity compared to just a year ago, which is still long after release) and people have exhausted the well of content so to speak. Theres only so many vehicle mods you can do before you're doing ones already done, or making the same car for the 14th time, they're just all different years. Eventually that just gets old, especially as a hobby.

As time goes on, less interest will remain. Not everyone who plays the mod does so for an unyielding love for police roleplay. Many of us play it because the perspective shift is interesting and the roleplay is great and very immersive. We come and go in waves and our interest varies from day to day, especially so when looking at it over longer periods of time.

FiveM definitely has impeded on the modding scene but not nearly as bad as you're implying. It's just a culmination of several natural occurances in a games mod life cycle. Not every game can be skyrim, in fact this game has seen an incredibly long mod life cycle for how incredibly difficult it is to mod compared to many other games.

Same here. When LSPDFR first came out I was all aboard the real vehicles and getting rid of the ugly lore ones as fast as possible, but coming back to the game now 5 years later I'm finding myself using all the lore friendly vehicles exclusively. There's loads of amazing packs and they all fit in, it's great. The only thing I like about ELS over the default system is it's only a button press to switch between lights only, lights and sirens, just sirens as well as dual tones and sirens staying on when you get out of your car (going through a menu to do this with LSPDFR is rather annoying, I can't seem to find a mod that lets me do this, perhaps Siren Mastery?). The customizable lighting patterns is nice too.

I could never, ever do lore friendly cars.  They are the ugliest things in history, which is funny considering it's Rockstar.  I get they were trying not to infringe on copyrights, but they could've done so much better with the cars.

They may be ugly but they fit in with all the other cars. I dunno what it is, I never used to like them, I detested them in IV but they're grown on me a lot in V. Packs like DispatchWorks are a must, with individual additions from there.
