You complain about how long it takes to get into the game, but that's your first time. After that you can save your character and your car and your loadout (iirc). Literally all that junk you cried about is solved by spending the same amount of time your spend doing it in some config but you get a visual representation. It seems you want to complain about a lot of stuff for the sake of complaining as most of your complaints are not really complaints (they're literally there you just want it different, boo freaking hoo) or can be solved by tweaking the config file. The update with the creator and the changes to spawns was incredible actually. The games population files simply do not allow for great customization for jurisdictions. With this update you can literally make every single zone in the game have it's own unique outfits, vehicles, etc for backup and local random spawning. Lots of complaining over literally nothing lol... But were all blind and cant see the real issue, lol this guys a joke.

I actually prefer non ELS vehicles. Though I also prefer (and now only use) lore vehicles (manufacturers from in the game, stuff like Vanillaworks Extended, or RDE for an example). I feel like real vehicles are cool and all but they just dont fit in and detract from the overall experience. As for ELS I think it's just excessive and I read a lot about it having a few bugs as well. I find the vanilla system to be satisfactory and it also removes another script mod running in my game that has a pretty good amount of them already. This coupled with the fact that modelers dont bother with making ELS versions of vanilla and vanilla based vehicles (and I have no interest learning modeling to do it myself) makes ELS literally useless to me. Dont get me wrong though, I'm all for creators making whichever theyd like. Also the fiveM vehicle mod setup is generally way cleaner than many of the vehicle mods I've downloaded to use as addons. I actually prefer when mods have their models and texture archives readily available for you to do with it on your own. Theres also the fact that the game is how old now? Fatigue has set in long ago (just look at gta5-mods activity compared to just a year ago, which is still long after release) and people have exhausted the well of content so to speak. Theres only so many vehicle mods you can do before you're doing ones already done, or making the same car for the 14th time, they're just all different years. Eventually that just gets old, especially as a hobby. As time goes on, less interest will remain. Not everyone who plays the mod does so for an unyielding love for police roleplay. Many of us play it because the perspective shift is interesting and the roleplay is great and very immersive. We come and go in waves and our interest varies from day to day, especially so when looking at it over longer periods of time. FiveM definitely has impeded on the modding scene but not nearly as bad as you're implying. It's just a culmination of several natural occurances in a games mod life cycle. Not every game can be skyrim, in fact this game has seen an incredibly long mod life cycle for how incredibly difficult it is to mod compared to many other games.

Assorted Callouts (Bank Heist, Store Robbery & More)

Because in order for a game to be modded on steam they must have modding frameworks set up in their game naturally. GTA does not have this and tbh the way they set up their archives and files for their games, Rockstar seems to want to make modding their games to be difficult. As for mod automation tools, these again are typically only around for games that have innate modding support as the game is designed with this type of modding in mind (Bethesdas games have a built in launcher for instance, and their games are designed with modding quite literally in mind, they design the games to allow for it). Open IV is quite honestly a miracle to be around really. Community made toolsets for modding to this degree do not typically come around. Theres OIV format archives with assembly and content files that can install mods automatically but this also has it's own drawbacks. Since this game is not Skyrim modding was not designed for it from the start. Files must be replaced instead of the game reading the modified files on top of the games original data files. This means uninstallation is impossible quite frankly with the current automated install tools ( youd have to copy the files you're overwriting and then hope your mod user is uninstalling the mods in the exact same order they installed them in etc. As nice as automation tools are for modding, they're quite honestly the bane of modding as well. If a user can just click a button and the mod gets downloaded, installed and prepped for the user then they will likely have no idea what they even just put in their games (many modders across all games have a tendency to have wild edits in their mods that have nothing to do with their mods). Or of they have an issue where to start looking. Modding should be involved, modding should be mildly tough, modding should not be completely automated like Steam Workshop (which btw has numerous severe issues that no other mod providing format has). All in all GTA modding is closer to how modding should be rather than the steam workshop.

Stop the Ped allows you to get results for alcohol and drug tests from Traffic Policer (Arrest Manager doesnt handle that btw, and STP is a newer and still being worked on mod, where AM is no longer being worked on and has been left open source and basically entirely included in STP now).

Peds reacting to your vehicle I believe is from i think Vehicles.meta and it has a snazzy level (or something along those lines, it's basically the cool factor) to it, or one of the vehicle meta files has this for each vehicle and i believe this is what causes those reactions. As for gang peds disrespecting cops, it's likely a relationship.dat file issue. I'd bet your relationship.dat file has the gang groups set to dislike for cops, I've found this to be extreme so I removed cops from them and now they typically only start problems with other gang members from different gangs that they get too close to. If they're not set to respect or like, or hate or dislike then they are neutral and will only really engage if provoked. Found this to feel more natural and realistic

Might be able to turn down the radius of the effect to help too, though it's been ages since I used Keep Calm so I forget what's editable. You might also want to only use what lspdfr doesnt do already (I think lspdfr does just peds iirc, info on it in the wiki threads i believe) and that might help too.

Trying to make Add-On vehicle from Replacer
dymedef replied to Starsickle's topic in GTA V Discussion & Media
I found Albos Modding Dlc tutorials had a really simple and easy to follow method for making addons replaces or vise versa, and it's in both text and video formats for whichever you prefer or if you need just a tid bit of reminder instead of browsing a whole like 8 minute video. By following his work I've been able to RIP out all the vehicles from RDE and created a dlc that just has RDEs vehicles and a couple of other mods. I always found video guides a bit more helpful (to me at least) for the first attempt, especially with GTA since it can be so easy to mess up. There's also other modding dlc folders on gta5-mods that some can be used as a dlc to house all your retextures, or weapon replacers. -
The scripts that do this are broken with 0.4 update to LSDPFR (From what I understand LSPDFR naturally tries to calm peds so these scripts interfere with its built in calming functions). I think you might be able to install Stop Shitting Bricks which used to help AI drivers from reacting to wildly to anything going on. I'm not really sure if it works with current versions of GTA though.

0.4.1 Stable List (with links, authors & video demos)
dymedef replied to sssneaky's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
Correct, testing a mod in a stable environment is not a way to tell if its outdated or not working properly..... Wut? Even if the crashes were magically made up by sssneaky, just reading the comments makes it 100% clear the plugin (which is also considered a mod, a mod is an umbrella term for any modification to the base game... mod is quite literally a shorthand for modification, which you can look the definition up) is not working correctly. If a plugin is not working correctly then the plugin will create problems, most specifically with plugins accessing the same information but are actually working properly. It's not disrespectful to claim a mod that has been basically abandoned is not working properly. Especially when Albo (the author) himself has said he doesnt plan on working on his mods outside of critical updates and even then I'm sure he has far better things to do than update mods that he made open source for the community to use and create newer versions of. Quite literally everything in LSPDFR+ besides the court system is in Interaction+ and Stop the Ped, Arrest Manager is basically completely included in stop the ped and I believe ultimate backup has a few of its features as well. Traffic Policer is really his only mod that has not been adapted and recreated by the community (but works perfectly fine still). Instead of informing people of his testing he should have just kept all this information to himself yeah? So that no one can gain access to the work he did, which he does in his free time to help out the community. Seems hypocritical to throw around accusations of defamation when you yourself are doing it in his very thread.... -
0.4.1 Stable List (with links, authors & video demos)
dymedef replied to sssneaky's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
That might turn off other things iirc I ended up running into that problem. The fix in the comments fixes subtitles being hidden because the mod sets the hud to off and when you press the related buttons or do the actions it sets the variable back on. And that's just the hotkey for expanding the map, but from what I remember as long as it's a hotkey (that's why I put it on my touchpad on my ps4 controller so I can remove all keybinds on dpad and use a keyboard shortcut as one of the buttons on the touchpad) it activates on that not the specific button. It's just labeled that way. I also dont use ELS as I dont use ELS vehicles and I remember reading it can degrade performance. But it's mostly because I prefer lore vehicles and I can like never find lore vehicles with ELS so I just stick to non ELS. -

Controller functions that cant be removed? The controls are all tied to the in game controls. It's all broken down into sections of how the hid activates, missions, using a phone, in a car, etc -
0.4.1 Stable List (with links, authors & video demos)
dymedef replied to sssneaky's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
You might be interested in CGEs Dynamic HUD ASI script that allows you to control when you want the gps/hud to show up. I have it set up so that if I am in a car it shows up but on foot its disabled unless I press the map expand button (mapped to my touch pad on my PS4 controller via external program) so it's only there when I want it, like driving around and when I want to check my health or where I am if I ever get lost. There's a fix for subtitles being hidden during the HUD being hidden and the radar working when a phone is out as well in the comments, should be the in the most recent ones. https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/cge-s-dynamic-radar-and-hud-asi Your PLD ini quote is empty btw. -
Your dlcpacks folder is missing like literally 25 or so folders. You need to reinstall or verify your game to fix this. It also looks like you are running an incredibly old version of EUP (it's no longer in a dlc pack and instead installed similar to how RDE is now installed). I'd start completely over with a fresh install as it looks like you set up GTA a couple years ago and came back to it recently to play again. Not going to work if you do as mods need the new files and you are missing almost all of them. Also as the above poster said, check out Albos Modding DLC mod as it has all you need to create add on or replacer vehicle packs without messing with any vanilla files but dlctext and has very easy to follow tutorials for setting up his mod DLC Pack.

If you're going to say if a mod is working or not, please make sure you are using the latest version of the mod. Telling everyone that a mod doesnt work because you're using the older version does nothing for anyone. Also try and verify that a crashing plugin isnt from either improper data modifications (not installing mods into the mods folder correctly), wrong version, or conflicting with another plugin you are using. By doing these things we will cut down on the misinformation in this thread.

0.4.1 Stable List (with links, authors & video demos)
dymedef replied to sssneaky's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
Yes some plugins will improve performance though most of the ones on here either have no alternatives that perform better or no alternatives at all. Many of these mods on here also won't have too much impact on performance though the more you have the more the game has to do as a general rule of thumb. I like the new format of the post, especially with the links and credits and full explanation of what your settings are console variables are, essentially ensuring anyone can start exactly where you are. Mighty fine work again sssneaky. I think the only thing missing is your computers specs so others can use this guide and your specs to gauge where they may fall on the how heavy can I mod LSPDFR line, so to speak. -
If I'm remembering correctly it doesnt have any police vehicles other than I think an fib annihilator so unless your custom vehicles are named exactly like the mods non police vehicles are it will be fine for custom vehicles. Be warned though that it's a fairly complex mod and installing stuff on top of it can cause issues so I'd be a bit cautious what you install after it

0.4.1 Stable List (with links, authors & video demos)
dymedef replied to sssneaky's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
Interaction+ and Stop the Ped have basically everything but the court system from Arrest Manager and LSPDFR+ and I know the Interaction+ author has said he plans on developing the computer part of his mod as well as adding in a court system as well. -
0.4.1 Stable List (with links, authors & video demos)
dymedef replied to sssneaky's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
How can you say that? Lol it cant be your opinion that 0.4.1 is more unstable if you havent even updated. Either way, updating the base mod is crucial as it includes new API iirc as well as some bug fixes. Not to mention that mods that update will use this new version and will not work correctly on 0.4. Also correct me if I'm wrong but isnt Albo basically done modding? And made his mods open source so the community can use them and make advancements on them (a la Stop The Ped and Interaction+)? So it would be wise to begin shedding those layers that will soon be unnecessary, like Albos mods that have basically been absorbed into newer mods. Nice list you have here sssneaky, this is a great place for new or novice level modders to be able to have a solid place to start and build upon rather than just an end all list of mods mashed together that will only work if all are installed together. -
World of variety only adds a few cars and I believe adds more liveries to some vanilla ones. It installs just fine with custom vehicles though its diverse ped and vehicle files could cause you to run out of memory if your not running a good enough computer and insanely high end addon car mods.

Gta Realism mod hasnt been updated in years. It will break your game 100%. If you want something similar you'll have to make it yourself with various other mods that accomplish what it did.
