Hey Braveheart, few bugs to report;


Officer needs Assistance Call near East Borough Bridge

Everytime I've responded to this call, the police car is floating in the air besides a tree. Other times (and this goes for all officer needs assistance calls), the cop is just running down the street, I've never seen a suspect


Car behind a held car gets caught in the "freeze" field

If I force a car to stop, the car behind it will also freeze. If I tell the car behind to move alone, it remains stuck in that "freeze field"


Other than that, Very good script. I'm impressed by it hugely. My only gripe is that the callouts are too far away most of the time.

This, combined with that Police Helper 2000 (or whatever its called) is going to make GTA IV a truly awesome game again

I also have this same problem. Like when I get a vehicle fire call, and I get to the scene, I halt cars from both ways to avoid running over any bodies (In case they can be saved) and running into the vehicle, then I call the fire truck he gets caught behind a few others cars, Also they don't even spray the fire when they sometimes do pass by it. So I then take the truck and do it myself.

I thought this was nice at first, but its really just EXTREMELY buggy. For one thing, it seems to be activated before pushing alt+del. For example, when in a firefight, if I were to flag any other officers by accident, it says "person is complying and dropping their weapon" and the cops drop their firearms. Or, when you arrest and handcuff somone with LCPDFR, this script randomly makes them "fight back", magicaly making them break out of the cuffs and shove you. "vehicle accidents" seem to consist of 1 or 2 random people standing in the street, upon arrival it may or may not spawn 2 cars that are completely undamaged. Also, theres the looping animation of people getting on their knees with hands raised, which repeats over and over again, sometimes even after you handcuff them. The get out of vehicle command (alt+f) doesnt work at all, and then theres the fact that after killing a suspect, the waypoint remains over them. There are many other little bugs which I dont feel like listing.

This IS a great idea, but, again, it is in the testing phase, so I cant complain. It would be better if this stuff was included in the next version of LCPDFR. (when is RC3 coming out anyway?)

You "cant complain" and yet your complaining...

For the blips staying on screen, click alt+del and it will delete them again. Also, the alt+f I experienced because you just get in the car. However, there is this absolutely magical creation called .ini file and you can edit the keys to your liking!!!

Harper, you can change the callout distance from FAR, MEDIUM, or CLOSE by editing your .ini

Ive found on multiple occasions that if you head in the direction the officer was running, (But usually gives up) you'll find someone running. Not sure if this is who the cop was chasing, but I got shot at by at least three of these people. The officer assistance seems to range from them just standing there to a shootout... Again, not sure if its intentional, but its what happened to me.

If your game actually freezes, then I can't be of assistance, but if the script just crashes and the game is playable, press `/~ (Key left of 1) and type reloadscripts

If you don't like their reactions, change the resist option to "false" in the .ini. Pressing Alt+del doesn't activate the script, it tells the script that you're ready to receive call outs. The script is activated automatically when you start GTA IV.

am i the only 1 that can't get this to really work with lcpdf 95 rc2

i can get call outs some work some don't but i can't use any of the extra buttons like for a breath test

Braveheart, awesome mod thanks, sent a small donation your way today.

My biggest issue is traffic jams due to corpses. Any chance a meat truck could be included in future versions? :)

Much appreciated, thank you! I was toying with an ambulance assisting option whereby they would arrive and begin CPR on any cadavers around you. However this proved to be buggy as all hell so what I may do is reduce it to an ambulance arriving and any bodies just disappearing. Not an ideal solution but I cannot get the paramedics to work properly (there unfortunately is no way to set them to paramedic AI, the AI has to be faked in script. Perhaps the C++ scripthook would be better for this.)

All other issues have been noted, I'll look into them as and when I can.

A weird problem i'm not sure has been mentioned, whenever i respond to an LCPDFR callout, my partner just stand there like a fool, doesn't get back in the car, nothing at all.

That happens when they aggro on a ped. Happens to me with just FR so it's not a problem with this script.

is everyone using this along with LCPDFR 95 RC2

or

serperate from lcpdfr 95 rc2

cause if every1 is using this along with . 95 rc2 i can't get any of the buttons to work like for the breath test and directing traffic

K-9 police 9: I'm using this with 0.95RC2 without problems with the keys (at least the default ones). Do you have some other mod or script that could interfere, eg. native trainer with shortcuts on?

Tried the mod. Crashes the game after a specific period of time. Its a shame I had to remove it, this is one wonderful script.

hmm i played for 2 and a half hours without a crash

Can you give more information about the crash, what where you doing when it crashed? Where there any error messages? The mod can't fix anything without any information to try and re-create it.
