Performance Issues

Guys guys this is 0.4 causing this 0.3 ran like a breeze so with 0.4 clean copy or not the people like us will have issues because 0.4 is not liking something so its causing this. Even Jeff Favignano got frame drops not as bad but still that problem came across for him. Agian 0.4 is new and another thing that i see lspdfr might not be liking is were still on version 64 of rage hook plugin we should of been on 65 so either rage hook plugin will release a patch or LMS will we just have to wait and see but in the meantime we still can tweak with the settings to make it a little better but there is only so much we can do to fix it. this is on the developers and i also still want to say that 0.4 is absolutely amazing!

  • I've been working with @zombieguy over the past few days to try to narrow down the issue as it seems to only happen for a very limited number of people, but on very different systems (so not necessari

  • Well..without LSPDFR I get 25/30 fps, With LSPDFR I get between 5 and 10 xD  But my pc is a potato : AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics  2.20Gh up to 2.6Ghz    8GB DDR3  😂

  • yes we shouldnt have to disable cool features like that so hopefully they will release a small update to fix some of these issues

Calm down 😄

The only thing we can do is to give the devs as much information as we can.

Yeah I was talking about bling but it applies to anyone, I'm cpu bottlenecked too and also get a similar drop in performance.

My cpu is definitely a bottle neck. I'm only using 40% of my GPU when my CPU is at 100%

I'm having the same issue with FPS drops. I could spawn so many police vehicles with ELS on 0.3 with no problems, not even a slight of a lag. With 0.4 though i'm lagging as soon as I go on duty not to mention i'm getting the unhandled exception occured message. I'll admit I miss 0.3 already. I like the changes of 0.4 even though some of the modders already brought those changes before 0.4 was released. After reading several comments and tried all of what was suggested it comes to me that 0.4 is still a "work in progress". I also don't think it should've been released yet especially if we can't roll back (Please dont get mad).

My specs:

Processor: AMD 8350

Memory: 64GB of Ram

OS: Windows 7 SP1(yes i'm still running windows 7)

Video Card: Geforce 750 FTW

Storage: 2TB

Of course you can roll back, there are no technical limitations in place to prevent you from using an old copy of 0.3.

I had bad texture and graphics with my game until I restored every game settings to default and settings in graphics driver, now I am getting solid 45~60 fps even if in pursuit and texture pop in only started after like 2 hours of chases and shootouts.

Yep definetly seems to be a bug causing this, your specs are a beast. Do you have a fresh install and never Installed over 0.3?

Yes, but I've probably found a solution for the rendering issue - just changing Main.PreloadAllModels in the lspdfr.ini to false.
But my FPS still not as good as in vanilla...

And for your question, I've installed 0.4 on a fresh install.

Try looking at my solution, it might help you a bit too...

I've tried this solution as they said in the common issues page.

I have the same problem, and I see that the most in objects rendering (loads late...) and fps drops.
Also, as one that always keeps track of the CPU in the task manager, I can say that in 0.3 my CPU was on average 40%, and in 0.4 it's on 70%.

I guess there's some resource issue, probably with the new AI as some of you mentioned before...

I don't think that the specs really matter, but if you really want...:

I7-9700k
EVGA RTX-2070

32RAM DDR4

And my GTA V is running on the SSD, if some1 really cares...

I have i9 7900 and 1080ti with 16gb ram. With a heavy modded lspdfr .4 I have texture popping as well. Only after going on duty do textures disappear though. I can still drive around and then it eventually crashes. Lspdfr works fine with no texture/graphic mods and vanilla cars. To add I can use reshade and enb with minimal issues.

I have a heavily modded lspdfr .3 with added police cars graphic mods scripts plugins etc and it runs 30-50 fps in 4k. For perspective my GTA folder with lspdfr .3 is 200+ gb.

I can run that with minimal crashing. But lspdfr .4 isn't playing nice with my system

Unfortunately I am not exactly sure what could cause it on your end, you should definitely have much better performance even with many units (https://youtu.be/4ZswFgOkeL0?t=9290 is a good example with like 20+ units). Since you've disabled a lot of subsystems and still seem to have issues, can you please try the following things for me:

When driving around and encountering the FPS drops, can you make the camera look at your vehicle from a bird's eye perspective? Does your FPS increase significantly or only slightly? Please do the same during a chase as well.

Next when in-game (make sure it is windowed or windowed borderless) open the console and type in "IsDeveloperModeEnabled true". This will create a small V icon in your windows tray bar. Right click this icon and set the logging verbosity to "None". Now disable developer mode by typing in IsDeveloperModeEnabled false. Please let me know if this helps with performance at all (it will minimize the disk hit for logging).

I just tried developer mode suggestion above. Prior to change I had complete texture loss. After change it seems the roads are loading now and few buildings. This is heavily modded gta with vanilla lspdfr .4 (manual install no other plugins). Gta loads heavily modded with vanilla lspdfr .4 off duty. Els cars and textures load and function. As soon as I go on duty textures disappear after driving or walking farther than a block. Normal fps for such a heavily mod game I run (30-50 fps) even after textures disappear.

I played through without heavily modded game first and created character. Quit the game normally. Then preloaded lspdfr through rage. Game starts as lspdfr character in uniform doing random events (first time seeing that which is cool lol). Tried same process with mods folder activated and texture loss happens.

my specs are i9 7900 gtx 1080ti 16gb ram 500gb m.2 ssd

I've noticed that my FPS drops to 30 at times, I attempted to look into this because my default FPS is around 70 for GTA 5 running LSPDFR 0.4 w/ Plugins. My computer is built for gaming and I run GTA 5 normally around 100 fps. After looking at the log and testing and retesting, I think this is responsible:

[3/2/2019 4:00:31 PM.750] LSPD First Response: [TRACE] PlayerCharacterStatsManager: Acknowledged

I unsynced my account, however, the game continued to relay this message to console.

Those entries are fine, it is basically rebinding its internal keys to the one in keys.ini. Nothing to worry about.

With everything maxed (MSAA 4x) I get around 50-60 FPS on 1080p. This is with a 4790k and a GTX 1080. Running LSPDFR has no impact on that, unless I am in a chase with many units (drops to around 40 FPS when I have around 10-15 units). We've had a lot of people test the mod with very different setups and had no performance concerns at all, so the issue is a little odd. The logs unfortunately also do not reveal anything so far.

Since this issue seems to be hardware independent for you guys, the only idea I have right now is disabling a few subsystems and see if it helps at all. To verify first please make sure you have no other plugins loaded at all. I'd recommend driving through a specific area, get a good idea of your average FPS there and then loading LSPDFR and going on duty. You should notice any FPS hit at all. If you do, please use these options one after another and see if it helps at all (reload scripts between settings change):

Networking.DisableServerCommunication = True

Networking.DisableDiscordRichPresence = True

Main.DisableAmbientScriptHooks = True

AmbientSpawn.MaxCopsInArea = 0

WorldEvents.IntervalMultiplier = 0.0f

Callouts.Multiplier = 0

Please let me know if that does anything.

Can confirm that these settings added to the ini will allow a heavily modded gta to load with vanilla lspfr .4 and go on duty without texture loss.

My gta game folder is about 200 gb. Natural vision, redux, els, and many other scripts all working without texture loss. Only tried basic on duty tasks such as traffic stops and not callouts. No other callout plugins or any other .4 api plugins loaded yet.

I've been working with @zombieguy over the past few days to try to narrow down the issue as it seems to only happen for a very limited number of people, but on very different systems (so not necessarily a slow system issue). We've made some good progress, but it is still not entirely clear what is causing the drops and especially why only you guys are affected.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

glad to hear that this issue is being worked on, for now I will stick to playing in the countryside at night time, that keeps my fps from completely dying it seems.

LMS are you talking about a patch perhaps. And also i think there is another problem when 0.4 was released the rage hook plugin was version 64. we should be on 65. It would be great if the developer could release a patch. I understand its tricky to find out whats wrong only some of are having this ive done what was requested and still same problem.

This boosted my fps somehow.
