Performance Issues

Featured Replies

While LSPDFR is active my framerate takes a very hefty beating. I normally run stock GTA V at around 90 - 100 fps, however, while on duty/pursuit I average around 30 - 45 fps most of the time. For reference, my specs are a 4770k @ 4.1GHz, 16gb of ram and a GTX 1080. I also have a fresh install with no other mods installed and have tried: running rage plugin hook as admin, running fullscreen and windowed, lowering and increasing graphics settings and disabling as many background processes as possible.

  • I've been working with @zombieguy over the past few days to try to narrow down the issue as it seems to only happen for a very limited number of people, but on very different systems (so not necessari

  • Well..without LSPDFR I get 25/30 fps, With LSPDFR I get between 5 and 10 xD  But my pc is a potato : AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics  2.20Gh up to 2.6Ghz    8GB DDR3  😂

  • yes we shouldnt have to disable cool features like that so hopefully they will release a small update to fix some of these issues

Can you post your RAGEPluginHook log please?

You should definitely not be having any problems with that build. I have a similar build and my total FPS is negligible (as it should be), so something else must be off. Do you have the issue when you are idle in the game world (just LSPDFR loaded)? If so, it'd be great if you could quickly go in a session, walk around for like 30 seconds with the FPS drop and then close and post the log here.

Will try to see if I can capture something. Also I just generally have worse fps when LSPDFR is active and I'm on duty, before going on duty it is usually ok.

I'm having a similar issue, FPS seems to be taking a hit even when just running 0.4 without any other mods. I was usually getting 40-45 FPS with 0.3 on my current system (G4600, 16Gb DDR4, 1050Ti), now it's hovering around 20-25, even less if I'm responding to a callout or on a traffic stop. If you find a fix I'd love to hear it.

@Sam Here's another one where I spawned in, teleported to a station, went off then on duty, requested a call and then began a short pursuit. I didn't see much other than the goto task being spammed in the log, and a few not implemented exceptions. I also attached the log file in the base directory rather than just from the log folder.

Im curious what this is about, my log shows the same thing, even then Im getting about 40fps. Still think something is interfering, doesn't make sense why it keeps rebinding.

I know we're trying to solve zombie's issue here but by curiosity whats your FPS average? I have a slightly better setup and FPS loss was always a issue to me. Never going 30 but close

Those entries are fine, it is basically rebinding its internal keys to the one in keys.ini. Nothing to worry about.

With everything maxed (MSAA 4x) I get around 50-60 FPS on 1080p. This is with a 4790k and a GTX 1080. Running LSPDFR has no impact on that, unless I am in a chase with many units (drops to around 40 FPS when I have around 10-15 units). We've had a lot of people test the mod with very different setups and had no performance concerns at all, so the issue is a little odd. The logs unfortunately also do not reveal anything so far.

Since this issue seems to be hardware independent for you guys, the only idea I have right now is disabling a few subsystems and see if it helps at all. To verify first please make sure you have no other plugins loaded at all. I'd recommend driving through a specific area, get a good idea of your average FPS there and then loading LSPDFR and going on duty. You should notice any FPS hit at all. If you do, please use these options one after another and see if it helps at all (reload scripts between settings change):

Networking.DisableServerCommunication = True

Networking.DisableDiscordRichPresence = True

Main.DisableAmbientScriptHooks = True

AmbientSpawn.MaxCopsInArea = 0

WorldEvents.IntervalMultiplier = 0.0f

Callouts.Multiplier = 0

Please let me know if that does anything.

I personally had a lot of texture loss with 0.4 and i already disabled preloading models and lowered graphics from ultra to high, and texture loss still happens. My PC is well capable of running gta in ultra with 60+ fps and i have no other lspdfr mods installed. I feel like texture loss happens after a car chase or shootout where the units were not deleted and were spread across the map which causes texture loss, and  also  theres a bug where AI cops have their siren running after police chase even tho the lights are off which seems to be impactful to performance

So I set up a test circuit downtown and proceeded to drive around it looking in the same directions as much as possible.

FPS ranges include: unloaded  71 - 92, loaded 57 - 75, on duty 51 - 67, with all the settings applied (I think stuttering was maybe less) 55 - 65. Requesting and accepting a callout in the area proceeds to drop the fps down into the lowest being around 43 fps (however this is including a car chase with a 2 unit backup).

Oh so LSPDFR alone right? No plugins? Yeah with base LSPDFR I don't get a concerning frame drop. I guess it's the callout plugins that cause that. But I've noticed a few more stutters in this new  0.4 version. Must be on my end tho. Thanks for the reply. Albo once said he could run it w/ plugins at 80 FPS. I wonder how, I can only dream about that!

Edited by iMalcolm27

I have FPS down to 45 when in service when other custom police units are created. Either for a callout or when I call a backup. Could you please add an option to choose the default models to be loaded in LSPDFR? I think that would improve the performance.

Yes, that definitely does not sound right. And you have no other plugins/callouts etc. loaded at all, correct?

Unfortunately we cannot do anything about unoptimized callout plugins. They should not cause an issue when just being loaded though, unless they are doing something else than just being a callout plugin. You would have to reach out to the respective developer then and see if they can resolve it. Ideally a callout plugin has no other functionality but provides extra features in a separate plugin so you can choose better.
