Atlas315 got a reaction from CaptConfuzed in Turning off in-vehicle radio?
Firstly, I'll say that I'm blown away by the stability of 0.4 compared to 0.3, even with quite a few plugins installed. Played for about 3 hours last night without a single crash. So this is a very minor issue and more of a tiny annoyance, to be honest. But I noticed that the in-car radio is always on when I first get into a vehicle, and have to turn it off either via the M menu, or by going into the trainer. Anyone know of a fix for this?

I see that there is a menu to change station or  turn off radio in police car, but is there a way to save that setting?  Seems strange to me to have music playing while on patrol and listening to police radio.

I'm currently running NVR without any issues as of yet, though I haven't had a ton of time to play. If NVR causes any issues I'll edit this post with that.

So far I'm really enjoying 0.4. The first thing I noticed was that it seems like traffic stops have been refined quite a bit. In 0.3 the AI would just scoot over a couple feet and basically stop in the middle of the road. Every car I've stopped so far (albeit only a few) have pulled all the way over or even onto the sidewalk just a little, which I feel is way more realistic and safe for players- less likely to get hit by a car.

In terms of addons I've gotten ELS, EUP, NVR, SimpleFootControls, some custom vehicle models, and custom weapon models working without a hitch. I might also give some of Albo's mods a try just to see if any of them work, it seems like there's been mixed success with other people. Mostly I'd just like to have Computer+ and Smart Radio back, maybe Traffic Policer as well.

Been experiencing some performance loss even when just running LSPDFR on its own, so I don't think it's the mods doing it. My old system ran 0.3 fairly smoothly so I'm trying to figure out what's causing the FPS hit.

Aside from that, loving everything in 0.4!

Hey there you wonderful people! I'm still very, very new to making liveries and was hoping to get some feedback on what I've been working on lately. All my work is done in GIMP. Let me know what you think!

I'm fairly happy with how these turned out, except that the stripes on the vic's rear bumper got screwed up somehow. Need to fix those.

Kinda "meh" on this one, personally. I like the color scheme, but the bars on the side didn't behave how I wanted them to once they were imported into OpenIV. That and I totally forgot to angle the text in line with the car.

Well not to jynx anything, but it looks like a new mods folder did the trick. Thanks for your help though, it's much appreciated!

Place your modded vehicles in the very newest patchday's vehicles.rpf.  Whenever a game update is released that has a vehicles.rpf, you need to use that for replacement cars.

So the short answer is a 3d modeling program like Autodesk 3ds Max/ Maya, Zbrush (generally to make the high poly detailed model) or Blender (I prefer using 3ds Max).  They offer free student versions w/valid email.  BUT you really need a texture program as well.  I personally use Adobe Photoshop, but I've seen more advanced programs on Youtube such as Substance Painter.  Keep in mind many firearms have already been made for existing games, and can be extracted (along with the textures) and converted to GTA V (much easier then learning how to model and make your own textures for the model).  You could even modify the firearm to meet the exact model you're looking for.  If you're really interested in learning how to 3d model your own models search Google/Youtube for "weapon game asset workflow" or something similar.  It'll give you an idea how to use the various programs, from setting up blueprints, to modeling, to UVW unwrapping, and creating the textures.   Just a friendly warning, it takes many hours to even learn how to use the programs, and many more to actually produce quality content that can be used in the game.  Good luck

I'm not at the point where I'm even remotely comfortable releasing this (unless someone really, really wants it) but it's my first attempt and I'm fairly happy. Looking at it I'll probably change the front bumper back to white, and I still need to add a few more little things, but I'm fairly happy with the result so far.

You can either delete the portion of the mods folder that contains the gameconfig, or go into the vanilla update-->update-->common-->data folder and extract the gameconfig from there to your desktop, then go into the mods folder in the same location and click "edit mode" at the top, then drag and drop the gameconfig on your desktop into OpenIV.

Thanks, and update: I restarted my computer a THIRD time and for some reason it works now. No idea what's up with that but I'll take it. Thanks for your help!

In your main GTA V directory, open the ELS INI file.  Find "MaxActiveVehs" and set this to 50.  Save, and load in the game to try.
