LSPDFR 0.4 - Coming February, 2019

I mean, what we play isn't the release version. We're not playing it primarily for entertainment, we're playing to find bugs. We're testing all sorts of things one might conjure up to do in the mod plus a lot more, to make sure you guys have a bug-free experience.

See you guy are really talking now!!! Give us some dirt homeslice we like that, even if the release is later for it. We like hearing progress and not being told to essentially shut the hell up and wait patiently while we tell you nothing but dangle the carrot in front of the horse.

  • Let's all take a deep breath and rest assured that we're still committed to releasing 0.4 this month.

  • Just as a heads up, I can't think of much that makes me grumpier than having to hide 24 nonsense posts after working without sleep on 0.4.  Lack of sleep I can deal with; people being idiots not

  • I've been informed we'll have to delay release by one day for each cat that is killed.

Now @Shockie While I do not agree with the previous comments in the past bit, It is refreshing for those of us who have some patience (may not seem like it, but WE are just killing time) to see someone from the team to give the community some semblance of hope and reassurance and not just " It will be released in February " Or " Before the 28th ". Shows some compassion on your behalf and I personally respect the hell out of that.

I agree with where you're coming from, it would be nice for that reassurance, but I think they genuinely cannot provide it, when you're face deep in ironing out bugs and staring at the same methods wondering where the hell it's broken you can't come out from that and say it'll definitely be on track.

You could always go the factorio route, and let us find the bugs, would be faster and it's not like we wouldn't mind it, bug testing for LSPDFR would be fun cause we also can just mess around with 0.4

Just a pretty girly~

yall is loosing hope for 0.4 but its not 28th? what how do people even be trying to make sense now adays with fancy words but no logic

Now see, this is where you're misinterpreting me. Most of us don't give a damn if it's out by the 28th or march 7th makes no difference to me. However it is nice to hear hey we're on it. No detailed progress intel needed just, He we're on it! exactly as @Shockie and @ineseri just did. That probably just eased a lot of tension in the ranks on nearly 301,000 Members not to include guests or anonymous users. just think about that. a few words calming hundreds of thousands.

No misinterpretation I understand what you're saying completely. We know they're on it through the announcements. What would be amazing to see is a Trello/Kanboard but this would require the team to go completely open about features before they're implemented which I'm not sure if they prefer this style of development.

I think it is extremely negative of you to think that the staff are rubbing their hands together laughing at everyone getting frustrated, or for more traffic to be created. Instead the devs are hard at work trying to polish off this amazing update, so that when it is released it will be almost perfect, with extremely rare crashes or major bugs.

Firstly, I do NOT think that they are stalling the release, in favor of more traffic to the site, or money in the pocket etc.

I am a developer myself, so I know Sam is doing what he can to release it - He wants us to enjoy what he have spend thousands of hours on.

I am just saying that a little narrower release window would had been nice - Or  maybe some info along the way, how it goes?

We just got "Hey! We are releasing" and here 36 days after, we still have nothing. Well yeah, we could get it the 28th, but now you talks about implementing new stuff?
So is the deadline still 28th? Or will it be pushed yet another month?

I am sorry, if I seems negative, that is not my intention - But seriously, keeping us in the dark for so long is bound to raise the tension mate.

Well, honestly, i don't think it'll be playable without new API plugins.

So, before i start 0.4 i've to wait until the essential mods like Policesmartradio, Computer+ etc are updated to the new API!

Also, who says it'll work properly?

The last game, except 0.3, i really enjoyed, was MGS V.

For me, Hitman 2 sucks and also Metro Exodus.

cant you all just be happy its being made and that they will allow us to use it

The hope is that experience of 0.4 will be a tad more 'complete' than the release of 0.3, as has been stated by Sam, the 0.3 was a rush to completion whereas 0.4 has been a planned development with an emphasis on features that should have been implemented already, the so aptly named "how have they not added this" features. A lot of the mods we rely on to add new features will likely become Incorporated into the core mod such as grabbing peds, RDE, search etc etc and i definitely think the core experience will be a great deal more playable than standalone 0.3 was on release.

Yeah, for me the biggest and greatest change is the implementation of RDE.

it's the fact that your can create your own agencies and you can have custom cars to each agency individually. essentially RDE.

You'll find this post to be a most enjoyable read. Not a direct RDE replacement, but the customisation is immense.
