KevinDV's Modification Thread [WIP/REL]

I'm not going to, no. Although it makes no sense not to release it since its already been ripped, you should consider that with most of my latest releases I've been adding all of my new scratch made lightbars and parts which those rippers are drooling over to get their hands on. ECH0 ripped EVI's Pierce Velocity from the FBI command center truck and publicly posted it on Strobe, after seeing that, I bet he has cold feet too.

Anyhow, I'm sure everyone should understand our positions. Literally anything that we feel they'd want to rip we're not going to release.

Ok, Just remember that you make great models. You will make it somewhere in life with your skills, the others/thief's, (who I don't even want to recognize their names), will make it nowhere.

                           Thanks again, Jetski343

Legal action isn't an option for me, even if I could I wouldn't waste my time on little children who can't feed themselves. I mod for the fun of it, its not a job, its a hobby that I do in my spare ti

  • That comparison between modders and GM/Ford;

He just quit American models. South Africa models are his passion. He does them accurately with quality. So most of the decent work will still be released. As for your video, my friend, that looks amazing. Atego in the background.....

Why is everyone so worried about the non released mods? i'm honestly surprised any of the well known modellers such as EVI, KevinDV or Aznairsoftdude are (were) still modelling.. i think GPM is finally cracking down on mod thieves (finally)

About aznairsoftdude, I already know his decision on what to do.... But without his permission I won't tell you his decision. Yes he is still modding but on releasing he has made his decision so I not sure what will happen as time flies.

Mainly because they are keeping the unlocked models exclusive to themselves (which is understandable), it went from 4 people releasing Caprice and similar car models to only one (CJ24). Even if someone wanted to, they would not be able to gain access to a model without it being given to them (which almost never happens in any community) or if they would create one themselves, requiring a third template, which converting skins gets more annoying with each model.

I wouldn't call what GPM is doing "cracking down". As someone on GPM pointed out, the modders could be charged with whatever laws people on here are trying to charge them with, since some of the models they use are ripped from other games. Even if they would crack down, they couldn't do anything except on their own site.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Really! Going to court for this. No offense but sh*t is going to get stolen. Does GM,Mopar,FORD Quit making cars becuz it gets stolen? Everyone knows orig models they are. Ban them and be done with it, It is a game. Unless you are a main modeler for the original game you dont have a leg to stand on unless you have copywritten your stuff legally in writing.

If you made a model based off a crown vic and someone steals it, you can bring them to court because your not the original designer of that car model. Ford is because your using their logos and model that they originally designed. Ford can technically bring you to court.

That'll never happen, sorry guy's, no one is going to jail for stealing mods.. ever, why does every topic have to be about mod thieves now? nothing can and will never be done unless people including staff from GPM and LCPDFR stop giving chances and just ban the motherf******.. it NEEDS to be known that mod thieves aern't welcome in the community and that will never happen if you see things like "do it again and you will get an infraction" Dhruv was banned for alot less, now just bring out the ban hammer and be done with it..

Your 110% correct

Or you have staff supporting the people who steel other work by allowing their work to be supported ,perfect example is that nice dodge tow truck it may or may not be stolen but it is modded by one of the biggest thieves out there but staff approves the link for the car, someone like that should just flat out have zero support but it's all about site ratings so it will never stop

@GTAIVCode3: I think you meant we *can't* take people to court.

@guy who compared this to GM etc.: If you steal trade secrets from GM, they will take you to court. If you make replicas of the Impala, they will take you to court. They don't care so much about video game models (unless it's a well-known game or there's money involved; they could shut down GTA car modding if they wanted, but really couldn't care less). They don't sell video game models. They sell cars. If you cut into their car market, you will face serious consequences.

We can't force serious consequences on mod thieves. Thus, it's an issue.
