Check out ELS for V!

Featured Replies

My current feeling now, from reading all posts, is that this mod most likely won't be released until Either sometime past August, or possible even next year. Hell, if production is slow and things aren't figured out we could be waiting a year and a half. This is my long shot, and I'm hoping for a sooner release, but better to prepare yourself for the worst possible outcomes, and then be surprised by the best.

  • If you can successfully manage to go this route rather than the extras, would this mean that all vehicle models currently released would automatically be compatible with ELS? Also would we have to use

I would be surprised if it took until next year. We've only just started 2016. And surely it should be easier this time around than GTA IV? My logic here being that because it's already been done once, in a less... stable game no less, then everyone working on it would have figured out how to do it again, more simply and more quickly? Or maybe I'm completely wrong.

Ah'm orderin' you to STAHP!

I loved ELS on GTA IV and I have high hopes for GTA V, something I would really like to see is a manual siren mod.

What I am describing is demonstrated in this video: https://youtu.be/UYqgBITv_DA?t=34

That would be great for both normal sirens and also a federal Q for those of us who like to play FireFighter/EMS mods.

Looking forward to the future! <O

Here is a video of how the ELS is currently is right now.

IMPORTANT!

Please be advised that the ELS depicted in the video is far from the finished product and people should not expect final quality of the program and treat it only as a minor sneak peak + a chance to help us make the ELS better by providing feedback. The video is not meant to be a teaser, or to evoke high hopes from the members on the forum, and the audience, but rather to help you understand where the program currently stands right now, and how far we have left to go in order to deem it as a finished product.

The testers have opened access to the alpha version of the program for testing purposes only and want supporters to be able to see what they are supporting. Playing the alpha might be frustrating and tedious due to the bugs and work-in-progress content. There will be BUGS ! This is important because we do not want viewers to think they are seeing the final product when we are still just in alpha development.

Currently, be advised that the ELS program currently does not evoke AI drivers to pull over to lights and sirens. Also, you will notice that ELS does not auto-repair damage inflicted upon the vehicle the operator is driving.

Awesome preview! I definitely like that there's vehicle damage in the early stages of ELS!

"Please, put it in park, will ya?" "LSPD, see the lights, pullover." "Stop the vehicle, we need to have a little chat!" "Get in the car and keep your mouth shut." "You have the right to absolutely nothing." "The damn gun is jammed!"

lol maybe I don't have high enough expectations, but this looks pretty good to me like it currently is..

Yes. The user will be able to control the sirens individually, along with the air horn. The control scheme is based on real life siren controllers.

I heard a Hi-Lo siren in the video. I assume that is the "fourth" siren (or "ambulance warning") that isn't accessible in the game, right?

It looks great, I do hope there's an option to turn off the sound effects the controller makes though (the beeping). I know quite a few people, myself included, find the beeping to be somewhat annoying even if it is realistic.

I'll let Lt.Caine know, I don't think he'll mind incorporating a feature that allows the user to mute the beep or not. It's his decision.

Good stuff, that was my biggest complaint about the later versions for IV. I quite like to flick my lights on and off a lot so having it beep every time is very annoying, heh.

Do AI ELS vehicles work?  (just curious)  Or is that a goal before release?

Also- so excited!  I joined in at ELS V7 and I loved it ever since.  Now it's like we're starting as ELS V8.5 and making it better!

At the moment, no. But it's definitely something on the list to make it happen before release. Once Lt.Caine has the dev tools he needs from LMS, things should start to pick up with more in-depth features. LMS is a very busy individual, so we're just waiting on him until he's ready to hand it over and then Lt.Caine can finally check off the important features off his to-do list.
