  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

This is a great idea and it also makes me wonder, since gta v has a bigger focus on law enforcement than gta iv did, should there be an option where, for example, if im an lspd officer responding to a man with a knife and i need support. can i call a bunch of high ranking officers in a police transporter as backup versus noose? the idea of being able to play as and call backup for specific units designed for specific calls would really make the mod 1000 times better. but the million dollar question is, is it all possible?

I think we've found a happy medium as far as backup options are concerned.  Not too complicated, but not too simple either.

He probably abuses "COPS TV" a lot too lol

Well at least we know how boring UK cops are that a mate from UK is working on creating an American police Mod

The internet my friend. Hell my departments SOP's (procedures) can be found on the internet.

So Sam is the creator, and he is from UK?

How is he so familiar with the way LE agencies work in the U.S. ? as far as techniques and procedures go

Knowledge is power!

I've been a couple of times, studied US politics extensively (to the point of writing my politics dissertation on it), and have of course learned a lot of things about policing in the US from everyone here.

I also thoroughly enjoy studying the American cuisine but don't tell anyone or they'll make fat jokes, again.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Quick question, once lspdfr is released along with lspdfr.com, will all gta v downloads, disscusions, and pictures be moved there or will lspdfr just serve as a redirect page for the mod?

Oh god this is too soon. We don't even have proper cars and els yet!

We've not decided that yet. But LCPDFR is our brand, and it'd be foolish to move away from it.

What do you mean? We have all the proper cars we will ever need! Save for the Police Interceptor, the cars are perfect!

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

 I'm fine with Vanille cars.

true dat. i guess lcpdfr really branched out into a brand after it became popular and people really took off with the possibilities with it. its amazing really. That lcpdfr was really a small idea in sam's brain that thought "huh..what if you could turn the tables and be a cop in a sandbox game like gta iv". fast forward to 2015 and even though gta v is out and there is no lspdfr quite yet. the site still seems to get hundreds of views per day. plus their are even other mods that were completely inspired by lcpdfr still being created today. its like......a big balloon of creativity that keep getting bigger and doesn't pop on everyone's faces. its pretty cool. and it really inspires me in a very cheesy soap opera like way.

Proper cars... ELS...

Lol no.

well i mean, i would use els if it was made available but all i really need is the lights on without the siren. otherwise everything is perfect.

I think Sam mentioned that earlier. It will be a feature in LSPDFR.

I'm so ready for this. In my opinion the default vehicles are so well done that I may end up be using those for most of the time compared to modded ones. LSPDFR and a couple of other mods which change the way police units spawn is all I need.

All I need for today.

Please consider an option to have lights on without siren (like we already have in lcpdfr) but without AI cars moving out of your way, if i want cars to get out of my way i'll just put on the siren. I don't know how hard this is to program but i can't imagine it being too hard. Can't wait for the trailer.

edit : maybe if some people don't want this it could be an option in the game config file or configuration tool , i really like the configurability of lcpdfr

I know it already has been asked and answered but now that you've spent a few weeks working on the new engine, what are your thoughts about it ?

Based on the assumption it's actually something you want, do you think you'll be able to expand the scope of the mod ? To be something more than """just""" a traffic stop simulation ? I'm talking from a strictly technical point of view.

It seems to me the GTA V engine is a lot more robust and stable and thus a lot more mod friendly. I loved GTA IV but I ended up uninstalling it because I could only enjoy chunks of 15-20 minutes of gameplay before it crashed (back in the ELS 6/7 days)

It also seems to me the game is filled with little stuff R* never really used  or that weren't really "needed" and they're just there so the modders can take full advantage of them.

Small details you know, like that lifeguard animation shown here, the fact we got both halogen and LED lightbars, firefighters being able to wear their gas mask, ambulance with different liveries, etc.

Anyway, keep up the good work, can't wait to play this mod :)
