  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

We're all thrilled to finally announce the development of LSPDFR for GTA V.  Everyone here has been working like crazy to make progress with the modification and the website, and we're only just getting started.

We hope that everyone enjoys the little taste of what we have in store with LSPDFR.  Feel free to use this topic for speculation, discussion and questions.

On behalf of the entire team,

Sam.

It sure isnt much but its what was expected, and I think its amazing! It's always great to hear word about whats being developed.

Sam, please do keep us updated with features you plan to add. We don't need a release date or extreme details (It's only been a couple weeks, its understandable) but I'll be checking the page for updates, and hopefully features that are going to be added. The possibilities to this are endless.

Thank you for claryfying things. I believe we want to see AI gets arrested, like the system in GTA IV. Ofcourse First Reveal but it looked kinda normal GTA. Nice touch on dispatches. It looked like it was outside ingame and not ingame audio. My fault I guess,.

I understand, but unfortunately the cops in GTA V do not arrest AI suspects under any circumstances, even when using the designated AI arrest task.  They simply execute people - this is something we'll need to work around, and considering the animation RPFs for GTA V haven't been exposed yet, we really don't know what we're working with from an animation standpoint beside the few that we've found already.

The point remains though, everything in that trailer was artificially created, and I was hoping this would be obvious from the usage of the police cruiser and buffalo, to the speech with matching animations and the different agencies in the pursuit.  Early stages?  Yes.  A trainer-clone like some other mods?  100% not.

Honestly I'm not sure I should even have to get into detail like this.  As far as I know, none of what was filmed can be done by anything other than LSPDFR.  The game has been out for two weeks, and we've been coding for it for little over just one.  I get that people might have had higher expectations from what we achieved with LCPDFR, but LCPDFR didn't even have working sirens on police cars at this point in its development.

I did think all the voices, sounds was scripted but no it was not. Which is pretty damn good. The GTA V cops are fully retarded, I do agree.

Cant wait! Im not asking for a date or anything but do you know if some kind of beta will be released or will you release it when its finished?

Expect a year.

Everything like that is yet to be decided.  Most likely we will do our best to get something out relatively soon, though.

Alright sounds good! Just hope you are better at sticking to dates than Rockstar! :p

Well done Sam and the team! People in the GTA Community seem to be getting more and more "spoiled rich kid". This looks fantastic though, any plans for a dev blog type thing?

After hours of boring waiting for at least one short ambient chase on a highway - this looks so exciting! I really hope to see soon an early version with chases ;) Keep up the good work guys!

Since we have atleast gotten over the biggest hurdle for LSPDFR, do we know what file type we will be working with as far as vehicle mods go? For those of us that enjoy creating cars as much as patrolling in them, are we look at a complete overhaul or will it be similar to what we are dealing with now?

In my veins now.... This is simply amazing Sam and the entire team. I love this concept, played the GTAIV version of LCPDFR but just got into pc gaming at that time. I was looking forward the V version of this and am simply AMAZED at what the team has done in ONE yes ONE week of coding and TWO weeks of the pc version coming out.... The music was great and loved it, and the chase was simply great to see with the other cop cars chasing...

I don't understand some gamers these days with expectations but I can say gaming is suppose to be fun and thanks to your team we have an opportunity to extend game play with being a cop in V. What more could you ask for in gaming.... A whole other game inside of a game....

Would easily donate and help finance a project like this if it would make any difference to the team... Let me know...

The LSPDFR Modification does not modify any game files, and as such, car mods is not what we aim to create with LSPDFR.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

I liked the trailer just hoping you in the upcoming future you guys take advantage that GTA V has to offer compared to GTA IV, and hopefully make a amazing mod out of it, hopefully the mod will be good we'll see.

My PROFILE

That was fast. I expected a few more weeks before any word was out on what the G17M team was planning, especially with the whole pedantic trademark issue going around.

Great job so far!

This trailer wasn't the best one I expexcted, looks like a normal cop chase and some voice overs.

Is there going to be showcase of animations etc soon?

I agree, could easily of been the trainer used to spawn body guards and follow.. Looks like a normal chase.. Thought maybe I would see an arrest animation or a traffic stop but hey

Oh man, this is going to be great. I'm glad that Rockstar finally pulled their heads out of their _____ and made a working port. I'd still be using LCPDFR at this point if it weren't for GTA IV's half-assed PC port. I can only imagine the possibilities there are going to be with V. I'd like to see the old voice commands from LCPDFR so I can spam the voice lines of the deputy sheriff. I'm pointing to my LCPDFR member title if you get where I'm going.

There are lots of mini-agencies in GTA V the US Coast Guard, the US Marine Navy Army mismash of god knows how much inaccuracy at Fort Zancudo. But besides all that one thing I've always wanted to do is provide air support for a chase and have a chance to direct that fucking spotlight or atleast have my co-pilot do it.

Bringing up co-pilot, will LSPDFR be Multiplayer compatible SP Only or MP Only... The feeling of being in a chase alone isnt as great as with friends all working together to catch the suspect.

Wee woo wee woo wee woo
