Can I also just point out that those mentioning that moderators haven't posted shows what I mean. Moderators should be classed as normal forum members when it comes to topics with some extra powers to help keep the site safe and clean. They should not be seen as some higher power but obviously they should still be respected.

I don't mind if some people do not post in this thread, I did not get a chance to speak to everyone on here and I'm sure there are also people on here who do not like me. It's okay, we're all human and that's just the way we are.

To those reading a little deep into the reasoning for this post, please don't. I made this topic to explain my reason for leaving and to say goodbye to my friends. That is all.

You were the coolest member on this website, Tom. It was so awesome to play with you in that clan you set up (except for that wild Canadian and that other kid :P). It's really sad, I guess, to see you go. You were honestly really, really cool.

It's sad to see you go. In my early days here, you and I were among the most active support section helpers. I know you're a very good person that enjoys helping others.

Best of luck to you Tom. Although I never really got to meet you, I know you from your constant support and other contributions to this community. It is a shame to see you go but you have a good reason to, even if it doesn't seem good to others, but it is your choice not his or hers.

Shame to see you go. You left a lasting impact on this forum, like that "List of Unlocked Models" topic, which helped people like me try out modding, and understand the idea behind it.

I don't have a clue who you are, but good luck out there. The world is a mean, careless, disgusting place, and you've got to stay strong to survive. But not just physically, you need to stay mentally stable as well. I do agree with you on several points you've made earlier, such as the hostility and negativity on this forum. Like you've mentioned, I do see some of it from the community team themselves! Hopefully it'll work itself out. Best of luck!

I am sad that it has come to this, but I feel as though it is my time to leave this community. I've met many friends here and felt it would be easier to announce my departure in a forum topic instead of messaging members individually.

 

It has been clear that this community has taken a massive nose-dive recently in terms of moral standards and I feel as though the community team are no longer the caring and welcoming humans that they once were when I joined, and the community is now full of immaturity and hate.

 

I've been here for just over 3 years now and I've had a real good time and as I've mentioned met some real nice people, but it irritates me to the core to see people treating each other this way. I'm not sure what is to blame, whether it's the constant stream of young children, or the community team who lack any sign of care. Maybe it's the lack of leadership or sense of direction within the community.

 

What is a real shame is how the community team seems to change the members who join them. They become controlling and power crazy, I get the impression that they feel they are superior on every level and in my opinion that is not what a community is about. The respect that was once in this community has completely gone and that is why I feel the way I do.

 

Over the past year or so, I've seen a concerning level of bullying and abuse within this community, even some of it from the community team members themselves. I've seen many of my friends forced out of this community by the staff and members here, and it's a real wonder why I have waited this long to leave.

 

Anyway, it's 4AM, I'm tired and I apologise if any of the above makes little or no sense. I wish everyone the best of luck, especially my friends.

I have to say, I agree with you completely, sorry to see someone who recognizes other fellow users getting bullied out or even worse go. You are one of the few. We are the few. I've seen a spike in bullying, which people call "Constructive" just so they don't get caught. Staff members on the other hand, can't really describe it or put it into words. It isn't as bad with some, others... Disappointing. I have been here for longer than my profile says, 2 and half years or maybe more now (under the radar). Well, I should shut my mouth. Don't wan't to get pushed out by The Community, The MSA Team, or other Staff Member's. Can't even upload any skins, models, or content without getting harassed... 

 

Once again. Sad to see someone like this go because of other peoples ignorance.

Tom, you played a massive role here, even if others do not know how. Thank you for your support on all occasions, those 2 am google searches that were answered with a recent forum that you answered. I agree with everything you said to an extent; I wanted to point out though that it seems issues with the CT and how they excercise power has decreased in recent months(although at times has been bad). I am not sure if it is because of my decreased activity, but I don't see many issues with the staff around town these days. Community in general is still shitty, but the CT seems to be getting better IMO. 

 

Either way, good luck man. You seem to be joining a long list of people tired of hoping for the community to change. Here's to hoping GTAV has a community reset button when it hits PC.
