VIP Protection mission sounds pretty cool. It would be great to be driving around the VIP or driving behind the VIP and in charge of protecting him or getting him out of trouble.

Someone posted somethin similar to this, but when i pull a car over with more than one person, and i call for backup, I dont just want 3 units responding with lights and sirens and come run me, my car, and the suspect over, and then leave. I actually want them to come and assist me just like a police officer would. Also, I would like to see that "every-so-often" when i pull a random vehicle over or something, that its somebody that has a warrant or is wanted or something. Some surrender, some kill you, some drive off, and some just shoot, miss and die. JUST like real life

Edited by Devil Dog0317 (HOG)

not everybody knows how to shoot a gun. some of these people that think they are a "gangsta" cuz they carry a glock dont even know how to shoot(aim) so an officer would apparently end up either injuring, killing, and/or arresting that person

I got one, please make it so when I call in noose support, they don't come plowing down the road in their hummer only to run me over, or flip my car so I can't get back in, and kill the bad guy. Also, don't know if this is available or not, but when I die, I find it really hard to get a car again. I usually have to restart lcpdfr but it sometimes crashes when I do that.

One last thing, anyway you could just make it a default to call in a tac team in the big black swat truck? It is kinda weird to call in noose only to have one guy show up in a hummer armed with an m4.

You can find police cars at the stations. You can also spawn cars with somekind of trainers.

In real life, even a city the size of NYC only has a few armored vehicles, and almost all SWAT officers in other cities are given a patrol car for patrol work and to respond in because it isn't cost effective to have a full time SWAT team that will only be used less than 100 times a year on average.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Also, wasn't it two guys who come in the NOOSE Patriot?

Ahh, yes. Always wondered about the guy sitting in the car. I thought he comes out when there's a shootout.

Hmmm yes, NOOSE backup does seem to be a little flawed. I will look into it.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Couple of suggestions:

1- Make it so that we have to travel a bit further for callouts. Currently, only shots fired calls have a decent distance between where you are and where you have to go. Most of the time you only have to travel across the street when going to a call.

2- Make pickup calls that aren't dispatched. People fighting on the streets, robberies in progress or a reckless driver. These can be ignored by the player if they don't want to participate in stopping it.

3- Callouts in Transit. Liberty City has a sprawling transit system and you could make some callouts take place inside of the subway stations.

4- As most others suggested, more mundane BS calls, like noise complaints and whatnot.

Anyone said this but a better arrest system(I know people have asked this but bear with me). For example at certain incidents with suspects in cars if the suspect gives up at the end of minor incidents you can order them to get in the car while you are standing back by your car and you can tell them to back up, hand on their head and so on. If this has been suggested already, I'm sorry.

Not possible - sorry.

1- As a police officer, you have a predefined patrol area, that designs which calls you will receive. You will NEVER drive anywhere near more than 5 miles for a call, unless it's an "officer in need of help".

2- They already happen a lot on the base game, just look on the streets and you will see tons of people run away from the police, just simulate from there.

3- Subway stations already have police officers everywhere, why would they dispatch any other officer than them?

4- That, I cannot agree more, a lot of the police officer's work is to hear complaints and warn people.

That said, I'm being harsh but the truth is, LCPDFR is built onto bringing the REALISM of the police officer's job, not like PPM who will have you drive 3 islands for a robbery in progress or something as dumb as that. :whistling:

If the random stuff on the streets is not often enough you can edit Relationships.dat in common\data and add "Hate COP" without the quotes to a few of the lines, but back up the file first!

You are using the WRONG right theme!

Have you guys considered putting this mod to Rockstar Games as an Expansion idea? You'd make a mint off of this if it came available to PS3 and Xbox 360.

Rockstar does everything to prevent us from modifying the game. They are aware that almost 75% of the GTA community likes to roleplay as a police officer, yet they don't care because they never listen to what we say.

1- I know that, I'm an Auxiliary in a neighboring county to NYC, but how realistic is it for the call you're going to to be across the street into the dark alley, every single time. Most NYPD Sectors have a good couple of blocks to them, especially in Queens (Dukes) where sectors are few and far between. At least make it so that we can travel a couple of blocks instead of across the street. Some precincts only turn out 2 cars to a tour because of staffing issues.

2- Yeah, and when you arrest the perp the Officer is chasing he starts shooting at him as soon as he's cuffed. It would still be interesting to have undispatched robberies and other pickup calls.

3- There are some subway stations that are Officerless, especially the above ground platforms in Dukes and Broker and Bohan (only Hove Beach and Algonquin Underground stations are staffed with Police, the rest are Officerless). Again, this is to add more locations to respond to. In real life, a lot of the times Transit is unavailable to respond and the Precinct cars have to pick up assignments generated in Transit.

4- No argument here, lol.

Yeah, 3 islands to get to a robbery is dumb. But like I said, when you're talking realism how realistic is it for there to be no travel distance during calls?
