And to say that one "fights for our rights" is incorrect. I appreciate all that our troops do for our county, but in all honesty, the American public has not had rights since the signing of the documents that guaranteed us our supposed "freedoms" and "rights".

Your first post on this website, and you just stopped a civil war. haha

As a community, a lot of us like to give our opinions and debate on current events, much like dedicated political forums where no one has a say on policies outside of voting.

A brief correction on this. No where in the original Bill of Rights are rights granted. Because all rights are natural, it instead explicitly spells out what the founders believed were the most important rights that the government should not prevent the inhabitants of the country from possessing.

Where we are today is a different matter for a different thread.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

This is a matter of global responsibility. The world just can't look away when there's a massive genocide coming. I personally would prefer the UN or the NATO to get involved but unfortunately we've got more than just the "Islamic State". In Europe the whole Ukraine crisis makes it difficult to have Russia involved in a possible UN mission to secure Iraq (and Gaza - Israel asked for a UN mission). Still: I compare IS to the Nazi regime, autocratic, fascist and brutal. In Austria and Germany most of us are still happy that the US (and the UK, Canada and Russia) decided to invade Europe to defeat the Nazi regime - unfortunately too late for 55 Million people.

The world forgot about their responsibilities in Ruanda - see what happened there. While war should always be the last option, I don't see any other option against IS - they're fanatics. I still don't like the optics on this though - US airstrikes coming when IS threatens Saudi Arabia (who financed the group originally). Seems a lot like when Saddam was invading Kuwait.

And while I don't like a lot of the things the US did in the last 4 years or so, I do like the decision to finally get involved and stop the crisis in Iraq. Nobody in North America or Europe could want the whole middle east to become an islamic state.

The US, along with their Iraq War coalition partners, should absolutely do what they can to support the country they destabilized a few years ago, Iraq might otherwise end up in the same genocidal state it was in before the Iraq war started in 2003 which would be a huge set-back for the coalition.

I don't mean the political aftermath, it is the unimportant part of the issue, the big issue is about accepting that the the deaths of US (along with Australian, British and Polish) soldiers and thousands of civilian casualties that occurred during Operation Iraqi Freedom (and the following occupation of Iraq) would, ultimately, have made no difference for Iraq, nor would the servicemen that did return alive, but with mental and physical traumas that will likely stay with them for life.

I'm sure that someone knowledgeable on politics (Sam) might have a thing or two to say about how the political aftermath would be among the western community if Iraq were to undo itself.

Obama wants more oil so what thats not news :L

please remove your lips from obamas ass and ill take you serious...you don't even live in the united states but here we have a thing called the constitution and obama wipes his ass with the constitution...such as going to war WITHOUT congress approval , Libya for example and signing executive orders whenever he wants....the ndaa bill....another unconstitutional and dangerous bill, north korea has indefinite detention Nazi Germany had indefinite detention...nsa spying completely illegal im sorry but you are extremely stupid but I shouldn't expect much from a wana be cop

Why is it that whenever I make a blunt offensive against your ideals, you completely ignore them? Can you not defend your own opinions and ideas?

Not only is that a strong sign of incompetence, but it's showing that you don't even care to hear the opposing side of the story. You post your opinion, then when someone challenges your opinion, you ignore it. Yet you go on and post your opinion again somewhere else, and ignore any challenges that come in. I think it's hilarious to be honest here.

Yes my name does say NYPD Detective, but i'm not so full of patriotism that I'm blind either.

I live in America however, I don't consider myself American, my roots are African, I was unfortunately born here. And before you instruct me to leave, Let me stop you first, You are in no moral position to instruct me to leave. America belongs to the Planet, the planet doesn't belong to America. I am free to go as I please.

I just don't understand why anyone would remain in a country that they dislike, and have the easy ability to leave. That's part of what's wrong with America, people are here and they don't appreciate what they've got. They soak up federal benefits and take up space for people that actually want to be here. If you don't consider yourself an American, then please leave. I beg of you to leave, because there are millions of others who would die to take your place. Hopefully America comes to it's senses and rids the country of people like this.

Generally in America if you work, good living conditions will follow. You just can't say that about a lot of other countries.

If all rights are considered to be natural, such documents would not be in existence because there would be no point. Furthermore, if rights were in no way guaranteed to us, as you had previously stated, there would be not a single supreme court case in defense of the people who utilize those rights to the furthest extent. Now, to point out another thing, to somewhat link this all back to the original topic of the thread, if we (world population) had such "all natural" rights, and if the whole world was to abide by the idea of human rights rather than rights based on what country you live in, then there would be no conflict, and in turn, no war between a government and its people over rights. To say that there would be no war at all is not true because the people will always fight the people because of such freedoms of religion, speech, and otherwise. And I do agree that it would be best if a civil rights thread was posted.

Quick question, what has all of the countries that America has fought against tells U.S. soldiers when they arrive to war?

Answer: Get out of our country your America is lying to you.

I had a friend who fought in Afghan in 2011, He told me that when he went to fight, none this was about Sept 11 it was about a pipeline that U.S. wants to extends from afghan through central Asia. The Afghan war was planned before Sept 11. Bush needed a logical reason to start war. So he used a genocidal tactic in America. Hence the so called war on terror.

And then he should me the facts.

Again stop being so full of Patriotism that you cannot see truth.

Terrorist are any people who cause fear to another people or land. America is putting fear into Iraq therefore making your country just as much a group of terrorist as Al-Qaeda . Again Stop with the American Patriot bull-ish Your country is lying to you.

I've got a headache now, the number of assumptions you've made is overwhelming. First off, common sense should tell anyone with half a brain that when an invading country arrives, they're most likely not going to be welcomed. You seem to be feeding in that same propaganda that tz71 is eating out of. Only the difference between you and him is that you're drowning in it, with no hope of being saved.

So I'm going to assume that you believe in that 9/11 conspiracy crap?

I didn't respond to you to start some heated debate on something that I don't know anything about, and really don't care to. Call me an ignorant and whine about America being doomed, I don't care. I responded to ask you why you remain in a country that you hate, assuming that you're living in America. If you actually believe in all this crap, then get out. We don't want you here, and we don't need you here. Don't continue to complain about our government lying, then stay in the country and say that you hate it. Get the hell out, please go.

I love your quote at the end of your response. However you seem to can't follow your own quote because your not thinking at all, also you clearly aren't paying attention. Your mind is so clouded with patriotism that America has made you a slave for her. I answered your question. I said: You are in no moral position to instruct me to go anywhere. Why? Because America Belongs to the planet, the planet doesn't belong to America. Last time I check I was born on earth. Therefore I am free to go where I please. Just because I live in America doesn't mean I can't call things the way I see it. Just because your a superpower of country doesn't mean you reserve the right to get involved in things that don't concern your country.  Ask yourself this. Why do your country put its citizens at risk every chance they get? Those people in Iraq would be well within their right if they decided to terrorize America. Why? Because according to your country all fair in love and war. So when these people strike back, and they will don't feel pity for the people that has to die because of a senseless war.

no he didn't...bush already had troops in Afghanistan...plus we don't know if bin laden died when they said he did or if he died in 2001....they didn't show any proof what so ever that's like me saying hey I killed big foot but I cant show the body because it was to graphic so I dumped his body in the river...the government has a huge track number in lies so until they show proof I don't believe jack shit anything they say

Well i am not too sure on that, the marines that where deployed in the compound of osama had some camera's on their helmets, so they had proof to Obama that Osama was killed, well i've seen that video, and yeah he is kinda dead with 2 holes in his head.

Do you really think a corporation is stupid enough to build a pipeline across Afghanistan, when a part of it would get blown up on a weekly basis?

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

OK getting back on to topic.

I think that the air strikes will not do anything better, In-fact it could start a bigger war and more country's will have to get involved. WW2 is a good example of this the US stayed out of the war until Japan bombed it.

if your replying to me Please @0taku or Quote me so I get a notification

Its not a matter of being stupid, its a matter of whether or not America is able to control that country. If America could scare the people it could enable them to do or build whatever they want. America wants to become the UNITED EMPIRE OF EARTH. plain and simple.

But no one has maintained control of Afghanistan outside of the locals. Your theory would mean that instead of giving the Taliban government a slice of the pie, which wouldn't be far fetched considering their cooperation during the Soviet-Afghanistan wars, the US decided to kill 4000 of its own people then blow the crap out of the Taliban and completely destabilize Afghanistan for the next few decades, making the pipeline goal impossible to attain.

It makes no sense for a corporation build a pipeline, that has hundreds of miles in Afghanistan capable of being blown up, then send valuable contractors out to repair it weekly or more when those contractors would most likely be ambushed and wiped out due to having very little support.

The only potential way that could happen now is if Afghanistan got nuked, but then there would be much bigger problems than a pipeline.

I can't argue with you anymore, you're too much of a fool.  (Rest was snipped)
