  • You're smarter than an 11-year-old. Congratulations on your amazing achievement. You must feel so proud to have bested a 6th grader in a battle of wits.

Breaking news: 11-year-old does stupid thing he heard about, hurts self doing so. Sources suggest young boy "did not have the foresight and judgment of an adult; he acted impulsively, without carefully considering consequences". Are our 11-year-olds losing that mature, calm, and thoughtful decision-making ability for which children of that age have long been famed? Details at 11.

"He said he will never do this again. "Don't try it cause it burns and stuff. Don't try it, 'cause it hurt real bad," said Robertson."

"Cause now he burned up..."

Sigh... Stupid mother, stupid child. What are the odds.

This tells you that people who are that incompetent should not be allowed to use the internet.

Im loving how you all are hating, yet an 11 year old has more balls than you. And Slimory, sorry but Aliens have visited us tons of times, and they still do.

I'm having a difficult time understanding how doing this makes you more of a man, or decides that you have "bigger balls". It's stupid, nothing more or less than that. Irresponsible and careless parents, causes the child to grow up and become retarded. Also, being smarter than someone younger then you isn't at all an achievement, at least it isn't in modern day America. It doesn't take a genius to be smarter then a child.

Just kids being kids, like when they touch the stove when they know it's hot, just to see how hot.  Let's move on here, folks.

People these days. Bill-"Hey Bob, what do you want to do today?"

Bob-"I know, lets light ourselves on fire!"

Bill-"That sounds like a great idea!"

More like:

Mom: "I saw this video on Facebook of someone lighting himself on fire, wanna try it?!"

Son: "Sounds fun!"

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made my night, thank you.

Well, the argument that people have here, is that kids act the way that they do because of irresponsible and careless parents. A kid setting himself on fire is not the least bit of normal, never has been normal, and I pray to God that it never becomes normal. Kids just don't do that type of thing, which is why this is being seen as an issue. Not just something we can shrug off and act as if it's normal. I do agree and live by the statement, "Live and learn". The only way you can fully comprehend and understand something, is by living through the pain and mistakes of doing it incorrectly. A kid is going to burn their hand on a stove, but a kid just isn't going to set them self on fire. That's crazy.

But I do agree with you, let's just move on. I was only explaining what some others were probably trying to say.

With this new "trend" the morgue should have a few slabs free... someone is going to kill themselves while doing this.

My parents should be glad that they have a teenage son that ISN'T following these bullcrap trends/challenges

This is what some people mean by "The internet isn't for everyone".

Since the Social Media boom, we're seeing so many videos of people doing dangerous stuff, unless your kid doesn't understand 110% that they shouldn't do it just because someone else is doing it, then they shouldn't use the internet or should be monitored by someone responsible when using the internet.

People are getting too much dependent on the internet & things like iPad. Even to the point that (usually) a baby's main source of entertainment is Kid's games on the tablets/phones!

What I wonder is how old the cousin was. I don't think it was mentioned (at least in the written news, didn't see the video).
